Hear-freaking-hear! It heartens me to see informed, level-headed discussion can exist on this site.
I agree token inclusion is a poor form of inclusion. However, I think the question that needs to be asked is: Is the diversity inclusion actually token? Because in this case? No one knows. Literally all those complaining right now have no idea. I think any outlet defining the type of inclusion as "token" without talking to developers or seeing the game themselves have already made their minds up before facts are even present, and thus the reality of the situation ultimately means no...
What about those Black Democrats...do they preach about it living inside of a white only gated community? Just wondering...
Given SW:Battlefront 2 is coming, the odds EA will go back and spend even a dime on getting an older game up to snuff when they can say "Hey, got a Scorpio? Then buy Battlefront 2 to see the series in 4k", seems pretty slim. I can't imagine they'd want to divide attention and give people the idea to spend $10 on Battlefront 1 (or wait to see Battlefield 2 go on sale if they already own 1) when a full priced game is around the corner.
We can. Some, sadly, can't. I don't get it either. Both awesome games that excel in certain areas the other doesn't. I enjoyed them both. And weirdly people can't say one is better than the other without it starting a pissing match. I enjoyed Horizon more than Zelda, but I can easily see why it would be the reverse for someone else. It doesn't offend me to the core of my being if someone else liked Zelda more, but most people appear to like one and then reflexively poop on...
Wait. So Aloy can't do all the things that Zelda can do in Horizon and so Horizon is a plastic doll house and is now a second class citizen next to BotW...but Xenoblade Chronicles, a series that also has never done the things that Zelda can do, have "the best worlds in all of video games" and are "critically acclaimed and mechanically amazing" games which "might just become the next big Nintendo franchise, making them a major force in the world of RPGs".
I think Unity is popular for a lot of small devs thanks to the asset store. I have a friend developing a game by himself, so the fact that he can go into the Unity Asset Store and pick up a few systems/texture packs/etc that are already built & refined that he doesn't have to build from the ground up is basically vital.
I would also suspect that that is what could cause the inefficiency: plugging in a bunch of disparate coding bases from plugins and, if chosen or i...
It's kind of funny thinking about company philosophy. If Nintendo were naming it, I could see them going with something whimsical like "Xbox One-Up" or "Xbox wONEder". But that doesn't have the right tone for the *serious* console makers like Sony or MS. So it'll likely be something like Xbox One Elite/Pro/4k. I'll be curious to see what they settle on.
@KickSpinFilter Oh, that's interesting. I'll have to check that out and see if I've overlooked that option as I don't remember seeing it. Thanks for the heads up!
I think the article needs tweaking as to its direction and tone. To me it is less about the difficulty of the task, and more to the ethos of it: why have that be a trophy? Was your gaming experience enriched by having to do it? If you find it does, then I can see why this seems like a silly complaint. For a view from the other side, here's my take:
I believe a trophy should be awarded for doing something fun, or challenging, or making you play the game a different way. ...
Without looking, I'm going to hazard a guess that it is finding and knocking over all the stupid training dummies. I didn't know I was supposed to look out for those, so when I finally glanced at the trophies I was pretty annoyed to find that one.
I wish games did a better job of allowing you some kind of opt-in for in-game trophy tracking. Some are better than others (and some don't bother), but a way to give you a heads up on what to do or how many more of a ...
Given the PS Blog talked about this game at the end of 2015, I'm shocked it has taken this long to materialize. This trailer could be confused for the one they showed back then too lol. Well, I've always enjoyed playing some Hot Shots Golf, and while we wait to see if EA can put together a competent current gen golf game, I'd love to go back to something like this. Hope to hear this is coming our way sooner rather than later.
I didn't get to make the leap on PC, rather I was pushed - digital rules all on PC: Steam, Origin, GoG, uPlay...good luck finding a physical PC game that doesn't boil down to needing to redeem a Steam key in the box.
But for console gaming I'm still happier to buy physical. I can live with the inconvenience of swapping discs to be able to tangibly own the game. I mean, I have a Steam library over 1,000 games and it feels less like a library to me than my backlog...
You write of hidden agendas. I am truly curious, what hidden agenda is there? What is there to be gained?
And also, to your point of a AAA publisher accusing G2A, we literally just had Gearbox set up a list of ultimatums for them to change their business practices or they would pull their deal with them, and G2A had nothing to say and the Gearbox deal fell through.
Well then you might as well pirate the games. If you are likely paying thieves for a product where none of the proceeds are going towards the people who made it anyway, what is the point of paying for it? No better price than free...
It is a strange situation, but one where I'm not quite comfortable with how I'm getting the savings. Sometimes they are legit, a good enough portion of the time they aren't...I feel like I can find a good enough deal elsewhere that ...
Except eBay has policies and safeguards in place for fraud. G2A clearly knows about it, hence why you can buy "insurance" when you buy your keys in the event they don't work or get revoked. Instead of them having confidence in their own marketplace & providing fraud protection as a cost of doing business, a la eBay, they make you pay for the privilege. When a core portion of their income (the purest income there is, getting money for doing nothing) comes from people afraid t...
I have no idea what this means lol
Last time I felt boobs they didn't rumble so...perhaps a *little* detail might be useful lol
Wow, it looks nearly identical. Somehow missed this back in the day, what a weird item for Hori to decide to resurrect lol.
You went from game developers to democratic-Illuminati in a flash lol. And this shadow left wing does all this money gathering and game developer infiltrating (lol) to...bring about acceptance of other races & genders, not for power or money and you see this as...a bad thing? Weird.
And guess what, I am an actual gamer. I am a hetero, white male gamer. And I am pleased to see an increase of diversity in gaming...why wouldn't I be? So don't speak for me and what ...
