You can use a coupon code, I believe TITAN20, to take 20% off bringing it down to $31 or $32 bucks. So pretty close to half off. I've considered grabbing it at that price given the great reception the game has received.

Not arguing about your point, but think about this more about how it affects consumers rather than how it affects reviewers. This edges more towards anti-consumer than anything else.

I think it comes down to looking at the landscape. If 99% of other game companies are going to adhere to early reviews, then it doesn't shine the best of light on Bethesda for their decision. They didn't give a very clear answer as to WHY they were doing it.

The cyni...

So very much agreed! I own all 3 PS consoles so I literally get a rental roulette typed service for $5 or less per month (I paid $40 for mine, so less than $4 monthly) and get a bunch of games to try out. I effectively rent games all year long for like $0.55 a title - I don't get to choose, but...$0.55! Even at $60, it's like $0.80 a title.

It gets slightly less attractive if you only own one system, bringing the cost per title to like $2.50 each, but still. A year ...

Wouldn't you prefer he be right and instead of porting older, existing titles that these developers were making brand new games and experiences for the Switch instead? I know I would. They need to present as many compelling reasons as they can to get everyone, including people who already have a current gen console, to get the Switch as well and the best way to do that is with games they can't already get with hardware they have.

Own an iOS device? Severed already released & is on sale for $1.99 during Halloween! I grabbed it for my iPad at launch for like $5.99. Well made. More than worth the 6 bucks, no brainer for 2!

About the 3DS version, I believe it launched earlier this month...right? Certainly give the game a try on whatever platform you can get it on, it's pretty fun!

Multitouch screens aren't really expensive these days given the ubiquity of mobile devices driving the prices down. I would wager pricing will rely far more on the quality and resolution of the panel and ultimately the cost of the Tegra SoC (newer or older should have a wide gap in unit pricing).

I also think if Nintendo launches at $400 they would be signing the Switch's death certificate. A device obviously made with a Japan-first design philosophy, that wouldn...

Here's my thinking, and I don't feel like I've seen many talk about it. We have precedent to take an educated guess in the form of...Shield products! The Switch is kind of a mash between Shield Tab & TV when you think about it.

An X1 based Switch at $300 (perhaps less with some finagling) seems doable - it is a nearly 2 year old chip. Let's look at the history of Nvidia's tablet line. K1 based Shields launched at $299 & dropped to $199 for the la...

It's not so much that because it isn't "the best" it isn't good at all, but more to your point about immersion. You want to be immersed and so do other people paying money for the experience. Have you not found that having your hands actually be transported into the game via Move/Oculus Touch/Vive Wand (the heck they called? lol) makes your game feel far more immersive? I know for games that are more than just narrative experiences, Move typed controllers are practically...

I think, if true, Nintendo will at least have a strong launch. $249 with some strong exclusives out of the gate might even be enough for me to jump in near the get-go. Anything more than that is sit-and-wait territory, less to do with anything Nintendo and more to do with just having so many console/handheld/PC games already (and I rarely get consoles launch day anyway, waiting for content to build).

The dangerous thing about $249 floating around is if it is more than that,...

Guessing this was rushed out to try to beat Daydream to market. Not sure how anyone, especially small businesses like this one, could think it would be a good idea to try and go toe-to-toe with Google in their own backyard.

Too bad this couldn't bring anything to the table though, more options are almost always good.

Could be the case of Bethesda getting their engine up and running on the Switch as a proof of concept, and they decided to use it in the promotional material because it is such a high profile game and shows the Switch can handle a large open-world (even if it is starting to get a bit long in the tooth). This being the "remastered" engine, I'm sure even if they don't release this game their intention was simply getting the engine working for their next release. So it is possi...

I'd say for the $10-15 you can regularly find it for now? It's probably worth it if it ever interested you to begin with. I bought it at launch, got to level...15? 17? Spent maybe 15-20 hours or something in the game. It's fun for a while but XP can distribution can really start slowing down in the mid game, making side questing and replaying main quests necessary to be properly leveled. It's a low investment at this point, I'd say give it a shot.

This game released over 7 months ago and just received "features" like:

- Players can now mark weapon and gear items as “favorites” which locks them in their inventory. Locked items cannot be sold, shared or dismantled.
- Added a buyback option to vendor’s inventory. Players can now recover items they have accidentally sold.

Incredible those weren't there day-freaking-one. I bought this at launch, got about halfway to the level cap ...

I agree, hard to swallow a controller costing 2/3 of the MSRP of an XBOX One S (and not much less than the cost of some of the fire-sale OG XBOX One deals we've seen cropping up for $220 or so). It might be a great peripheral, but damn...I'm not knocking its existence either. It's optional, and options are always good but in my mind they'd have to hit $99 for the base Elite controller for me to consider that a good value for what it offers over the standard controller. Wonder ...

I'm a person with a pretty decent tolerance for VR and low instances of motion sickness, but this game made me have a headache and was just generally uncomfortable to try and play. I stopped 3/4 of the way through a race because it was just uncomfortable and that made the race hard to do well in and it just wasn't fun for me. A lot of other games so far have been great, but this one definitely got me.

Side note: I was surprised at how much the visuals took a hit on ...

My main issue so far is resolution. I had previously been using a GearVR and the resolution difference is noticeable. PSVR obviously gives higher quality graphics than the GearVR can manage, but between the lower resolution and titles appearing to be giving up quality antialiasing to hit FPS targets, some things are really rough looking. I wonder if the Pro can use its checkerboard upscaling to somehow improve things like this with a low performance impact, perhaps by some version of Super Sa...

Given this quote: " Just imagine the guts of a high-end mobile phone strapped onto the back of the Rift, and you essentially get Santa Cruz", I assume not much heavier.

This is basically just Oculus' version of the GearVR. With Daydream and GearVR I'd imagine most consumers who want this kind of "wireless VR" will already have their needs met, and for cheaper. I'm not exactly sure who this is for, but I guess we'll find out if it can car...

I, on the other hand, found this to be...let's say "underwhelming". If you like being stuck literally walking at a snails pace looking at decent graphics and a patchy story line, then this game is for you. But even by "walking simulator" standards, it left me wanting.

There was a pricing error that a dude had to use a giftcard for because otherwise he'd have been fired? That was a dick move, sir. I'd like a N3DS to replace my 3DS XL, but wouldn't do that to a guy.

Edit: And for your FOURTH one? Yeesh. What do you do with four of them?
