I thought the exact same thing...
You make incredibly good points, I have to agree on all of them.
Though - I can understand where the reviewers are coming from, although it shouldn't happen when they call themselves professional. With all the advertising and hyping around major game releases you just cannot stop yourself from judging games before you played them, heck even before you really seen them. I myself would make those mistakes - I don't like Uncharted, but I do not even own a PS3, I didn't play ...
I don't...what? Of course a 360 is a mini-spec PC, as is the Wii and the PS3. PC = Personal Computer. What exactly differs a console from being a computer? Jip, nothing.
"Only" the architecture differs, it's like comparing Apples to Bacon.
think about how awesome the combination - destruction and dinosaurs - would be :D
Rage was disappointing, I give you that - but it really wasn't "that bad". You could still play it very well, the controls were okay, the visuals as well. It was just extremely overhyped and didn't deliver what they promised us.
Brink... I anticipated that game, I wanted it badly, They promised so much for it... and then they delivered that piece of junk. I'm glad I pirated in before, installed, played for about 90 minutes, uninstalled it. Forgot about it. Quickly.
@Pintheshadows: No, that is not a "wrong" opinion. What if he likes Hitler and really thinks he was a great man? That is a valid opinion (although bats**t insane). If he would say "In my opinion the holocaust didn't happen" than he is actually wrong.
@RBlaze: In that case you are wrong - an opinion can also come from facts (or - to be more accurate - an interpretation of facts). It can also come from ignoring facts. In the end an opinion is a subjectiv...
hum? What kind of problems do you have? The SP is working just fine over here...
This whole DLC-Mess is getting more and more riddicoulus, it is just a huge shame that Remedy gave into this kind of stuff as well. Seriously - the first game was blast, it sold very solid - what the hell is the DLC about?
laughed so hard at that...
"Coincidence? I think not. It looks like DC Comics and Marvel Comics have some explaining to do."
:D Why? Why would they have to do explaining? Of course they are "batteling" each other and maybe it isn't a coincidence - but who cares?
I agree - this has to be one of the worst reviews I ever read. He says that he didn't like stuff, but he doesn't specify things, it is inconclusive and it is a really, really annoying read.
After the first paragraph I alreay wanted to hit the x-button on that tab...
talking about post-launch DLC here, DLC which is actually built after the game is released. That makes your point invalid.
You know - it can be both.
I LOVE TO WRITE IN CAPS AS WELL! IT JUST EXPRESSES MY POINT BETTER THAT WAY! GRAMMAR IS UNINTERESTING ANYWAYS - WHO NEEDS THAT SHIT?
I totally agree - Portal is something else, this is a own, very, very nice idea.
I have to do heavy budget planning for this month :D
I CAN'T wait for Batman
I CAN'T wait for Rage
I CAN'T wait for BF3
Although I think I will pass on Rage for now - Batman and BF3 will tie me in, BF3 will do it for at least 4-6 months. Rage will be a later buy, hopefully for a cheaper price... on the other hand... steam will have a heavy holiday sales around christmas, maybe I will go for Rage there.
500k for a home-theater would bring you some sick stuff ;)
Seriously - you are right though.
@-Mika-:
There is just something wrong with your logic that you need to realize: A PC can be hooked up to your TV. Yeah, I know, it's unbelivable.
And then just use your controller on the PC as well, you can easily play on the couch if you want to. I do that all the times for many games - the nice thing is: Want to play a highly competitive FPS after your casual gaming-time? Just go to your desk and take mouse and keyboard again, everything is working fine.
2k is totally possible - if you go for a big Intel i7, >12GB RAM (would guess he went around 16), harddrives (probably a SSD?), a good case with a good cooling system, two graphics card, blue-ray drive... If I would built my "dream-PC" I could easily fit 4k worth of parts into it (including monitor, mouse, keyboard, etc. of course), not that I will do that anytime soon...
And the smoke-mortar is even better (don't know wether it can really kill someone though) because it is shooting really big clouds - it's awesome.
