Why would anyone want to do THAT?
@glennco:
How is that? Sony puts out good products, they are engineering top-quality hardware.
Or is your comment just implying that the PS3, in terms of hardware, stands anything behind the XBox 360? Then I'll just have to disagree, even though I'm a PC-/ XBox360-Gamer.
First of all: Making generalizations based on your biased view upon the gaming world is always a bad idea. I don't buy the "insane amount of advanced tech only for never even close to be fully utilised", I buy it to be utilised. I do a loooooooot more than gaming with my PC and thus my decision to play everything I can on PC (I still own a XBox 360 but that is mainly for the console-exclusives nowadays). The graphics are an added bonus - it just looks better if you can play in 1...
Well - I actually think that people just think different. I don't think that a lot of people (including me) 'hate' Day-One patches, and so they simply disagree with you. But hey - way to handle criticism and different opinions...
I DO think however that reviews should mention the bugs prior to the patch simply because some people don't have internet and they can be warned prior to ordering/buying something.
I also DO think that people should have the ...
Win8 will probably finally drive me to take the plunge and turn to Linux for everything afterall. With Codeweavers giving away Crossover tomorrow, I'll probably switch for good. Up to this point, I am running Win7 and Mint side by side, but I don't think it will stay that way very long in the future.
If you're on PC I recommend "GameSaveBackup", nice little software to do this automatically. My PC backs save-games up every time I start it (into the cloud) and every time I shut it down (onto local hard-disks).
Ehm - mods do nothing but ruin good games? What now?
Mods enhance games usually - just check the mod database to know what I'm talking about.
Those "mods" for XBOX where you spawn a weapon from the existing system isn't a real mod in my eyes, it should still be considered a "hack".
Oh my! Or some modern shooters? That would be a ground-breaking revolution for once.
Well - aren't mods a legitimate reasoning for PC gaming (as well as your other points like upgradability)? Why are you calling it "squack" (I suppose that should be some kind of trash-talk, never heard of the word though)?
Actually - I think that is their viewpoint to all things. Never read an article from them which was not
a) totally biased and full with wrong information
or
b) totally boring
or
c) a picture slide-show full with uninteresting pictures (not to mention the fact that you'll be lead to a new site with every slide...)
or
d) all of the above
But you CAN alter magazine size, chance of elemental damage, accuracy, damage, and so on.
You're right though - the weapons themselves are not modifiable.
I own a talking shield - it's probably the same manly voice as the Shotgun. Comments on every action I make, warns me when my shield is down/up again (Uhm, shields down boss!, Ready for action!) and apparantly I'm his boss ;)
Still quite fun though.
It's a fan-made mod, Valve is not involved in this (they still do indeed own)
Older PC-Games aren't being updated anymore - so... what's your point?
Steam doesn't cherry pick... Steam has everything 'new' - there are just a few publishers who don't release to steam. But that hardly Valves fault, is it now?
So does the PC?
Most new games come with an automatic updater, you just launch the game, the patch is downloaded and installed - without you having to do a thing besides clicking on the game (I assume (well, I know) that you have to do that on the consoles as well). If the game doesn't come with the updater, you can rely on services like Steam which will keep your game up-to-date without you _doing a single thing_ - yes, you don't even have to click the game.
If it doe...
I have to agree shadow - a lot of games simply play better with a controller. Racing Games, Beat 'em Up Games, Fighting Games, Action-Adventure (like the Batman Arkham series), Sport Games - the list goes on and on.
There are only around two or three genres I would never play with a controller, because suddenly that becomes a HUGE headache. Shooters for example - I cannot get comfortable with the controller in my hands. Even if the mouse gets me unrealistic movements (in ...
@ShinMaster:
At what point did he say that it makes him part of an elite club if he owns a PC? Stop making things up.
So, to take apart your silly picture you posted:
1. So... it's a good thing that you are unable to buy your games because it's sold out? Nevermind that downloading games to the popular consoles is here. And it is here to stay.
2. Stealing games is easier on PC? Ha. Ever heard of the XBox 360? It's never been so easy - you d...
You boviously didn't either...
So yeah... what can you tell us about the new consoles, you got from some leaked paper on the Xbox by MS?
We will see us then in 2 years and meet again over this topic - we'll see how much truth you already found today.
Haha - calling someone a moron because he uses a word that most of the world used until a few days (more like "hours") ago?
Besides that: There is no statement from MS wether it will be called Xbox 8, Xbox 720 or Xbox Multiusermegaextrapartyfunpack er - in fact: They hardly say anything at all about the new console. Also you have nothing to back up your statement "will be running on windows 8 OS" - there is no such statement from MS.
So... yeah... he is the...
This - again - simply shows that you have not read the article. At all.
He is using Halo4 just as an example of how low some sites and magazines are willing to hit, simply to get some attention. He uses it to illustrate the downfall of real journalism in this regard for the better or the worst. He also shows up sites and scores that are low BUT also _fine_ in his perspective. He isn't some biased Halo-fan trying to defend a certain side, he just USES Halo as an example (and being ...
