You are right - Steam made it a lot easier (the patching process too), but there are still a lot of games which are utter failures, mostly these are Console-Ports, granted. Take GTAIV for example - that was one of the worst experiences I ever had on PC. Don't get me wrong, I am a PC-Player wherever I can (= the games are available on PC) and I love my rig. But yeah - I have to give you that point, probably that comment was a little bit short-sighted.
DRM is a different st...
Care about quality? Sorry, but at least most of the games work on consoles - that is quality for me. PC games are getting worse every day - of course there are counter-examples, but a lot of times PC-Games just don't deliver what they promised. Also the whole "no-demo" and DRM story on PC is riddicoulus, this is what pushes me to piracy every time.
Of course I have to agree in most other points you make, especially the part that you can hook your PC to your TV - I don...
You just could connect your PC to your TV and you get an entertainment machine, the PS3 cannot mess with that one. Of course, I agree on the part that a lot of games aren't even available for PC, so it makes sense to also own a console. But the PC can give you so much more in terms of enterntainment - just a hint: Look at the software called XBMC.
Or - you know - get both. I use a XBOX360 and a PC and I will get a PS3 in the next two months...
Games which are available on PC I play on PC, but a lot of times games don't even get released for PC but I want them badly, so I went ahead and bought myself a console - the xbox specifically.
Technically you can, because Beta = Feature Freeze, only Bug-Fixes will be applied. Having said this, a game can still change very many things from beta to release.
I have to agree to that part, you are completely right. Bowling (and also the CounterPart at Dice, can't come up with the name right now) is a good example how it should be done. On the other hand you mainly see the Publishers of those big games hating around - EA and Activision being a good example on this part. I think that devs. aren't that way (at least - not all of them) but more than often they aren't allowed to speak out what they want.
The users a.k.a. fanboys are way worse than any company out there. Want evidence? Just look at the posts above...
I have to agree - waiting for this is terrible - I want to play RIGHT NOW!
Also - if you live in America, using cracks is equivalent to piracy. Read the ToS of all your precious games, you aren't allowed to modify it that way. Circumventing the DRM is equal to piracy - it doesn't matter if you bought the game or not. There are several countries where the ToS aren't applicable in most cases (Germany for instance) and you are allowed to do whatever the hell you want with the games.
They are like the "hipsters of gaming" ;-)
Seriously - I enjoyed every CoD for a while but got bored really fast, but that is just me - I don't like that gameplay, the run&gun-thing (multiplayer-wise) simply isn't mine - the Coop (despite the fact that the PC is missing Splitscreen which I hate bigtime) is really well-done and so is the SP. Except for BlackOps - I just couldn't get into it and the weapons look/feel like plastic in it... But every CoD...
"amazing" is a great understatement for Arkham Asylum ;) It was unbelievable what Rocksteady pushed out there - it was huge, it was complex, it was one of the best games I played. And I mean "ever". It was so genius...
Hah - I avoid those articles as well... only ones I knews is "The Joker" :)
I laughed so hard about "Elder Scrolls VI: Holy Crap More Dragons", here - take a bubble ;)
yeah - you mean like every company on this planet? Deal with it.
Also - I wonder how ID will this do anyway...
You say reasonable stuff, but you just overlook the fact that EVERY SINGLE Company on this world has to deal with it. Used Ford car? No money for Ford. Used Harry-Potter Book? No money for J.K.Rowling. Used movie/cd/whatever you can buy yourself? No money for publisher/whatever.
Literally everything you can buy (except for food I guess), you can buy second-hand. And in no case there is money for the one who initially manufactured it.
They just should deal with it, it&...
But... they didn't include those options in the pc-games, because... I can't make up a reasons for that one, but still - SplitScreen is missing from the PC-Versions.
This list above -Uncharted 3, because I don't own a PS3 ;)
But those are the "MUST HAVE" this year for me as well.
And I am supposed to know this how exactly? Looked like a good game, got excited - and then, nah. The article is about the particular 3d effect of the game, not 3d itself.
I am sick and tired of this - it is NOT a PC GAME! Why is categorized as such? Please - remove the tag. Article would have been reported, but well, I can't.
"Buhuuu - piracy is baaaaad" - Esepcially the JTAG is not intended for piracy, if you want to pirate stuff you can just go with the (way easier) Firmware-Flash for the DVD-Drive...
The JTAG's intention is for Homebrew and custom stuff, so shut up already. These news aren't directed to piracy, this is for homebrew-people and people who enjoy to have an open hardware. MS is the bad one here - trying to lock out consumers from their consoles, I bought the hardware so i...
