So a hugely anticipated title has trouble keeping up with demand and suffers server strain and crashes for its online component at launch? In other news, water is wet...
MS console names:
Xbox
Xbox 360
Xbox One
Sony console names:
Playstation
Playstation 2
Playstation 3
Playstation 4
if MS doesn't go far to find names, Sony doesn't even leave the couch...
Wow, the Sony fans sure do have a massive hard-on for this news, as if the the gameplay itself and the content within it, is somehow greater on PS4. After hearing this news, I'm convinced that despite getting 60fps and 64 player dedicated servers, playing at 720p is somehow going to invalidate all the good times that will be had playing with my friends - pre-order cancelled...Some of you are making it out like 720p = 480p.
I see the chances of getting a game of this scope...
You don't "HAVE" to pay an arm and a leg - that's a choice some make - these people are known as "PC enthusiasts," where acquiring the best of the best parts and building their rig is part of the experience. Unfortunately, this stereotype is what gets attached to PC gamers in general. Even in the enthusiast realm, many are still smart with their purchases.
Something else to consider is all the other things PC's can do in addition to gaming. Con...
They also tend to want to add in things to boost the cost of PC gaming, like a monitor, keyboard and mouse, and speakers, but then never want to factor in things like a TV, controllers, online gaming subscription, and other accessories for console.
As for exclusives, the PC releases more exclusives yearly, than all 3 consoles combined. I don't know how things will be in the coming gen, but I still don't thing consoles will hold a candle to the amount of exclusives re...
"it's not all about graphics on PC,..."
- This is an understatement. There are aspects about PC gaming that go beyond the games themselves, that makes up much of what makes PC gaming so great. In addition to the better graphics and higher framerates that people always point out/talk about, there are also features like more detailed video options, which even console gamers could benefit from having. How many console players do you think you like the options to tw...
To be fair, all the "weak xbox" comments are a bit misplaced. Yes, the whole situation as a whole makes MS look deceptive, but it was at a gaming event, where it has become pretty common to showcase games running on "beefier" setups - not just MS is guilty of this.
I am approaching it from of a technical aspect, and I keep asking myself how would the original Ryse, in all its 150k, 1080p 60fps glory, have run on a PS4? Would it have been practical to relea...
It's not the polycount that seems to show the downgrade, it's the texture res.
150k down to 85k isn't what's going to be noticeable to players, but texture res is. Also, the shaders appeared to have helped. The armor used to look like they were ran over with a buffer, the new, less dramatic look, is more appealing.
Your rationality and down to earth comments are not wanted here. Either pick a side (xbox or PS) and grab a pitchfork, or get out!
So your response to my post, is to bring up an entirely different case that has nothing to do with the current situation? Looks like a case of deflecting to me...
I didn't even know what you were talking about when you mentioned Milo, until I looked it up, and I said to myself "that thing?" That's you "smoking gun?" Essentially a tech demo that hasn't materialized into what we saw on screen...really?!
PC's have cloud capability, it just isn't as emphasized as much, since 1) they are much more powerful than consoles, and 2) dedicated servers have been the standard since like early 2000's.
The cloud on PC is more heavily used outside of gaming.
Wow - console gamers arguing poly counts...seems that many of you aren't satisfied unless their is something to argue about. If there was nothing to argue, you would probably complain about that...
First off, 85k down from 150k, is gong to be something you're not going to notice. Second, am I missing where MS apparently lied? The game was in fact using 150k, so they weren't lying about that, and dropping down to 85k, is no indication of anyone lying. I mean if any...
I was never fan of PS controllers, even before there was an xbox controller to compare it to. Now that there is, I hands down prefer the xbox controller, mainly due to the location of the LS above the d-pad, rather than below like on PS. The overall feel of the xbox controller, even the original "Duke," is also much more comfortable than the PS controller. The controller design is actually one of the big reasons why I will never even buy a PS.
I was also never a fan...
And PS3's tagline was, "It only does everything," when it clearly didn't. Even if you're speaking in terms of strictly game related features, it still wasn't an accurate assessment.
You are using a marketing slogan for the basis of your argument...let that sink in.
And although those things could be tied to "NSA conspiracy" in reality, they are coincident/circumstantial.
People can't play Diablo 3 on PC without internet - NSA!!!
People need to be connected to the internet to setup Steam on the PC - NSA!!!
The console is always watching/listening? - the same implications apply to TV's and smartphones.

Like many negative comments about MS, the NSA comments are also selective. The PRISM program (the surveillance program operated by the NSA and said to be working with MS) is not Microsoft exclusive. There a a number of companies that have been connected to Leaked documents have named a number of other companies as participants in the program, including:
Yahoo
Google
Facebook
Paltalk
YouTube
AOL
Skype
Apple

Some people really can't get past the idea that the Kinect is not designed solely to replace controllers, but rather act as an extension to the console. I see comments like, "when are we going to see the kinect useful in games besides dance games?" or ".... but still doesn't do 1:1 tracking!" These are typical responses to downplay something either they don't want/or like or something they wont have access to.
The consoles come with a bundled headset. I and many others will have no use for it since we are using third party headsets. Should we get mad and stomp our feet?
And as many others have stated, nothing is "forced" upon you. Not only do you not have to use the Kinect, you can opt not to buy an X1 at all.
Many people pay for cable, but there are a number of channels that they don't watch. Why do cable companies have to force them on people and m...

"wasn't a good example, kinect is something what comes with it but isn't required to use, a stand for a tv is required..."
- Stands are not required for TV's. The TV will still turn on and work without it. My TV is mounted to the wall, with the stand in my closet with the protective plastic still on it. Electricity is required for a TV, not a stand.
The Kinect is a peripheral that comes with the X1, and lik...
The Playstation controller, specifically the location of the sticks, is a big reason why I won't even consider buying a PS.
And people need to stop with the "humans are symmetrical" argument, as some type of "evidence" for the DS being ergonomic. Have you people actually seen devices designed around ergonomics?
