The flaw in your argument, Mox, is that just because MS's cloud technology is available, it isn't mandatory, so if a dev chooses not to use it, that's their choice. Furthermore, the consoles have not even released yet, and people like you are claiming that all the press coming out pre-launch, are some sort of definitive aspects of the X1, that will never change ever, yet at the same time, the PS4 (or at least the devs understanding of the hardware) will somehow get better with age...
The same thing is true with Steam on PC. There is an offline mode, but you initially need to register online. I don't see how this seems to be such a foreign concept to so many people...
It's funny seeing people coming to some arbitrary rule that games must be 1080p in order to rightfully carry the "next-gen" title. As if a game can be a complete mess, with horrible gameplay, no new tech or features utilized and overall not fun to play, but hey, it runs at 1080p 60fps - next-gen achieved! http://www.youtube.com/watc...
With so many people...
@theBAWSE
I like how only MS has a "shit storm" ahead of them after people start analyzing the consoles. As if they're gonna look into the PS4 and be like, "Wow! Everything ever said about the console, is 100% accurate!"
It's ironic to see console players taking such an interest in comparing hardware specs, yet denounce PC players as "elitist" when they do the same thing...

Awesome...N4G console players are all software developers and computer engineers again... Aren't PC players considered "elitist" when they start assuming superiority by comparing stats like this?
When you say you think it's "way too much like Call of Duty," what do you mean? It moves at the same speed? The gameplay looks similar, etc. it's a vague statement.
One of the things that caught my interest was that people who got to play it said it reminded them of older PC shooters - I've heard comparisons to both Quake 3 and Tribes, so it might retain the speed of COD, but remove the shit mechanics that game has and move to a more arena-shooter feel. ...

"you know what Horse i'm just gonna SMDH at you because i know you're gonna refuse to see what everyone else saw during the reveal, and what happened at E3 that caused the uproar among gamers."
Refuse to see what everyone else saw? What, MS proposing features that many PC gamers have been enduring for years, and yet the medium has been doing quite fine since? Regardless if it caused an uproar or not isn't the point. The fact th...
A lot of people bring up how old the engine is, but it isn't much older than one of the most widely used engines this gen - UE3.
Titanfall is using the Source Engine which debuted in 2004, the same year UE3 was announced. The first games using UE3 were released in 2006.
Directed by Michael Bay...
You still have failed to produce any evidence of these features violating rights and/or one needing to give up rights in order for them to be successful.
I guess you missed the part when purchasing games doesn't mean you own them - you are purchasing a license for the software. This is evident in the EULA and/or the Terms of Service.
What you describe may be features you found unfavorable, but until you can show me legal proof that they were in fact in vi...
@Soldierone
Cool story, but you forgot the part about Sony having the chance to pickup Titanfall but couldn't, due to them not being able to "deliver the goods," so to speak. Also, about your xbox 360 assumptions - Respawn is using MS's cloud technology for that platform as well. In an article, Respawn Entertainment engineer Jon Shiring writes the following:
"The cloud services aren’t limited to Xbox One games either, and Respawn uses t...
@ssj27
"next-gen" is merely a buzzword, and declaring something as "true" next gen, is largely subjective. Where one as yourself may see a title like KZ being truly next gen based off its visuals and resolutions, others may see a title like Titanfall as truly next-gen for utilizing MS's cloud technology to offer a better game experience.
lol, there's no "rights" being given up. By simply choosing not to purchase such a device, you essentially boycott them and show your disapproval. You have a right to choose what you want to buy, and many consumers exercised that right. You have a right to voice your concerns, and the right was expressed also.
Now I'm no expert in consumer or copyright laws and something tells me you aren't either, so until you start posting evidence that individual'...
Compare the 360 dash at launch to now...I'm sure X1 will go through some pretty big changes.
If the default is black, I don't think many will have a problem with not being able to change it. Now if it was hot pink or line green...
"NVIDIA G-SYNC could mean that next gen is obsolete already"
They are obsolete already, but not because of G-Sync. Because they are using dated hardware.
When describing 30fps, words like "not that bad" and "sort of acceptable" aren't really selling it...
30fps vs 60fps isn't a negligible difference, it's like night and day. From a competitive standpoint, no one would willing choose 30fps over 60.
As stated already, EA does not own the Titanfall ip, Respawn Entertainment does. This was part of deal between EA and Respawn. EA owns the rights to Mass Effect, not Bioware, so they were able to pay to get the game on PS3. Ultimately it's Respawn's choice where they go with Titanfall.
People will swear up and down that Titanfall is coming to PS4, citing that EA would never miss out on all those sales, but, and I stated this before, perhaps staying with MS has more to do with necessity than choice. Perhaps Sony simply cannot offer the resources Respawn requires and MS can. Besides, Respawn owns the ip, not EA.
A lot of people seem to be forgetting that Titanfall is an "MS exclusive," not an "Xbox One exclusive." Many people who are getting X1 and PS4, are getting this game on PC, as well as the exclusive PC gamers. Pre-order data for X1 isn't really telling of much.
