The cartoon/Mark Hamil Joker is my absolute favorite, followed by Jack Nicholson. Sorry Heath, you take last place here...

Baker sounds pretty true to Hamil here, and this is just from a public reading at a convention, not a studio setting.

Your comments are based around the first version Kinect, so technically your opinion isn't accurate, since you are technically referring to a different product.

As far as "next-gen" and "revolutionary" goes, I would say that X1 beats PS4 in this category. PS4 might be the beefier console, boasting more powerful hardware and system specs, that could result in higher resolution and framerates, but that's really all it has. From a purely gaming perspective, that is great news, but there's nothing really innovative or revolutionary about powerful hardware, especially considering PC's still reign king in this area, even bef...

The gunmetal controller is slick looking - the best looking of the bunch.

My 2 cents on the "why must we buy a Kinect" and "fear of advertising comments," is this:

Why do I have to get ESPN and MTV in my cable package?
Why are certain car packages unavailable without the purchase of Sirius radio?
Why do many pre-built PC's at retail stores come loaded with software I might not want?

The answer to all these questions is because they are packaged deals. The extra cable channels, the satellite r...

@Imalwaysright

Strangely enough, Azure is a proven technology. It wasn't built exclusively for Xbox One, it has been in use for some time now, and is overall loved by developers. If anyone has anything to prove with their cloud service, it is Sony and Gaikai. MS has a huge lead in terms of cloud service/capabilities.

Lastly, if you call "marketing and spin," lying, yet both Sony and MS participate, what are you implying? Seeing as you have no b...

The vibe I get is this:

Those who prefer PS+ seem to do so for the free content and incentives that comes with it. They not only offer a ton of games to users for their subscription, but a ton of new released titles as well. This aspect tends to be the big draw for PS+ fans, vs the paywall structure of XBL, but I propose a question:

What if the intensives weren't there for either console? What if we were basing each service on their core functionality, wh...

1) No, I never stated you should just believe them, only that to discredit them immediately is unfair, and in this circumstance, any kind of hard evidence or proof of their claims isn't really possible before the consoles even launch. You can remain skeptical, but the "anti-MS" attitude, really hurts any sort of credibility you might want to maintain.

2) Changing stance is not lying, not even a little bit. Lying would be guaranteeing one thing, then launching th...

Both camps have stated things that have not been 100% proven - it's called marketing and spin, and both sides participate. Also, as I mentioned, MS proving something likely still wouldn't be enough, since many would not be convinced unless it was a normal everyday consumer, in their own environment with their own console showcasing results.

There's also the case that MS is so hated by people right now, that if Sony and MS both made the same claim, MS would likely ...

All the comments demanding evidence and proof of these claims, are so premature and jumping-the-gun, I don't know if I should laugh or just facepalm.

The console hasn't even launched yet, the general public has had zero time with it, and even devs are in the infancy stages of exposure with the new kits, with some also having none, and you guys are demanding proof that the cloud will do what it says it will? Could you at least wait until the console launches and/or any...

if you go back and listen to the part, he is talking about the software technology, not the console as a whole. He also says it's "almost" future proof, not that it is flat-out future proof.

Well you are right one thing - my playstation will not arrive on launch day, because I'm not getting a PS4, I'm getting an X1, and seeing how Amazon states on their site that the console is guaranteed to be available on release day and my estimated delivery date is also Nov 22, (release day) I'm pretty confident. Even if it shows a day or so late, I still see it better than needing to go pick it up.

Only suckers go out to retail stores to pick up their new consoles. Mine will be delivered to my door on release day, compliments of Amazon.

"Sony never put ads in their gaming machines. HBO doesn't have commercials and so on and so on."

- HBO does have commercials, they're just advertisements for its own products/programming, like when they announce about a world premiere of a movie or a boxing match in such a way as to want you to keep paying for the service, that's adverting. Anytime premium channels have free weekends or other promotions for their service, that...

"Why do people like this exist?"

- People like what? People that propose hypothetical questions concerning real-world future tech and use examples from a sci-fi show that bases a lot of its tech on potential real-world possibilities, to work as a more detailed description or mental image to what is being proposed? Yeah, those people need to be jump of a cliff en masse... By your reaction, you'd think I just used flying dragons and unicorns that poop cupcakes for...

A huge mistake people make when discussing Kinect, is labeling it it as a motion controller. The device is designed for more than just motion controls. Hell, a person could use the Kinect everyday while gaming, and never once use motion controls. The stigma of the Kinect being nothing more than gimmicky motion controller really needs to end, because it works to discredit everything else the device is capable of.

@Soldierone

"You don't see TV station making people get up and run to watch sports, why should I have to do it to play a game? "

- Because people who opt for motion controlling in games, generally aren't too concerned with such self conscious thoughts as having to "move like an idiot..." People who choose to use motion controls, tend to not be bothered by them - it's actually part of the fun, especially for games fully designed...

"PS4 has no problem doing 1080p, many of those PS4 games in 1080p are 30fps though."

- then it arguably does have a problem doing 1080p, since performance (framerate) is arguably as important or more so than visual quality. I, and would wager many others as well, would rather opt for a "proper" next-gen experience, with 1080p@60fps, than essentially a really pretty looking current-gen experience.

Being a PC gamer, I have played games at 30...

In all fairness, advertising is king - it is a key factor in running the cyclical consumption machine that powers our economy. Advertising sinks its claws into virtually any and everything it can where it seems profitable. Consider this - TV commercials didn't always exist, yet if you pay for a cable subscription now, it is laden with advertisements.

Also to be fair, XBL was largely considered the superior service for many years, in terms of c0ntent, functionality and sec...

"If they already know they can have the PS4 version running at 900p for example and then drop it to 720p because the X1 couldn't handle 900p that situation is what bugs me. "

- And how do you know that them scaling back was for the reason(s) you suggest? There is always going to be a balancing act between quality and performance, regardless of system. Perhaps you are right that the PS4 could've run BF4 at 1080p, but at what cost? If you think it would have a...
