Actually, going by your description, "retro" is a sense of style. Just because it's 2013, doesn't mean things need to look like 2013 (what would that even look like?)
It's all subjective, and I honestly think it looks nicer than the PS4. I'm not a fan of the sleek, future/modern look. I'll take a 1988 Monte Carlo SS over a Bugatti any day.
One consistent thing I have heard in hands-on reviews of the console and the Kinect, is that it feels solid and well built, not cheap.
I don't know the details of the PS camera, but I'd assume even if you could do these things, there is likely less incentive to do them, since the camera is optional, unlike the Kinect. The PS camera being optional might actually hurt it.
"So they're fully justified in presenting a product which they're technically not selling?"
- Technically they are selling it, since Titanfall is coming to PC for Windows, which MS owns.
I think that was the point... to create something simple yet elegant. I mean, they could have used their imagination and put like a loop-di-loop on it and maybe a chocolate waterfall, but it likely didn't seem practical...
I personally like the simplistic design of the X1 over the PS4, which when placed vertically, looks like a ancient alien obelisk...
To be fair, I don't really see where any imagination is taking place on the PS4. Instead of looking ...
lol, exactly. It's like he couldn't argue his point, so he brought up an entirely different one.
To be fair, GTA also has an established fanbase and 4 previous games in the franchise, whereas WD is a new IP... If it was a case of GTA 5 being under a different title and being a completely new IP as well, I don't doubt the reception of the community would be different.
Personally, I'm not a huge GTA fan. I don't really like playing the "bad guy" in games, like a criminal committing crimes - I more enjoy like playing the hero or the vigilante do-gooder...
meh, was never a big Gears fan. Going multiplat isn't a big deal. I'm much more interested in Fortnite.
I'm sure it will have some sort of objective mode, seeing that it is merging campaign style story telling within the MP.
First off, you took my quote out of context. It was pointing out the degree of improvement many Sony fans seem convinced they are going to see in PS4 games compared to X1. It has nothing to to do devs and their ability to to fully utilize the PS4's hardware - you just added that in yourself.
So it's reasonable to expect max returns, or as I think you meant, "consistently" max returns on an investment that relies on developers, who are often working for pub...

"No body in their right mind is going to compare their Prius to someone else's Ferrari!"
- This is the shit that makes the Sony camp look unrealistic. The PS4 may be sporting more powerful hardware than the X1, but it isn't like the X1 is a fucking atari...
Sony proponents exclaim how X1 fans are delusional for not accepting that the PS4 is more powerful, yet it seems Sony fans are just as delusion in their expect...
Not sure why you say this, because PC has more exclusives than both systems combined. They are also the king when it comes to indie titles.

"Also, while I agree that gameplay is paramount, graphics are still very important. They can greatly enhance the atmosphere and believability of a game."
I think you are confusing graphics with aesthetics. Actually, when comparing games and claiming one is better looking than the other, I think a lot of people are confusing these two or using them interchangeably. http://www.youtube.com/watc...
You don't have to pile on a " bull shit kinnect system" with the current X1. Like the headset the systems come bundled with, using the Kinect is optional.
@awesomeperson
"Anyone denying the power difference is clearly delusional. Even Microsoft don't deny there is a hardware disparity between the two consoles."
- OMG, are we still on this?...It isn't about denying whether or not PS4 is more powerful than the X1. Like the guy said in the vid:
"I can tell you right now, I can look at games on both the Xbox and the Playstation, and they both look phenomenal. I don't see a 5...
"The PayWall is about principle. It's the only service in the WORLD that has Netflix and a browser locked. No reason for this except money."
- In the whole world? You have a source for that? I don't really care if you do or don't, because your tirade about principles is amusing. It's a game console, not starving children in Africa. The principles in this regard is little more than "first world problems." - Remember when XBL was hacked and ...
You mean like the 50% more powerful claims of the PS4?...
- RROD didn't effect everyone, and Sony had YLOD. I've had 3 different 360's since 2006, and none of them suffered a RROD.
- The paywall only effects those without a gold account, and since many of the "core gamers," which you mention in your post, are getting gold accounts anyway, this isn't really a problem for them.
- The 180's were a reaction to the community response, and is a bit of a catch 22 for them. And yes, simply chan...
Console gamers putting extreme emphasis on hardware capabilities, in a closed-system environment...priceless...
Every day I see more and more people gloating about the power of the PS4 over the X1, as if people in the market for a console are asking the sales clerk which system has a more powerful GPU or more RAM... It's the fact that consumers don't have to worry about these things, which makes consoles more appealing to them. Of course, the "hardcores" oft...
The green box isn't "new," it's the standard packaging. The black box is for Day One versions of the console.
