There's a difference between "loving" screen-tearing as you put it, and simply not minding it. I never enable v-sync on any of my PC games, and the screen tearing issue is negligible.
There is nothing elitist about pointing out differences between console and PC. If you are used to eating Filet Mignon and then are served Salisbury steak, is it elitist to point out you prefer the Filet?
The PC elitist moniker has been attributed to virtually any person who reveals they plays PC games, mostly by console players who simply cannot come to terms with the fact that PC offers things console does not.
How is proposing that a good idea/feature that...
which is why I propose (and have for years) that consoles have advanced video options like PC does. I'm sure many players would willingly sacrifice quality for performance, or vice versa.
I think a future-based BF, like 2142 did, could sell well. At least bring back Titan gamemode. I know a lot of people are asking for BC3 as well.
Another WWII era BF, is really what I'd like see. I see people argue that WWII has been done to death, but has it really? When's the last time you saw a WWII shooter released? In the past 5+ years, virtually every shooter has been either modern combat, near future or far future - BF, COD, Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six, CS, Halo, ...
For shooters and other fast-paced games, I think 60fps should be standard. Having a lot of experience with PC gaming, personally, I think higher framerate is always better, regardless of genre. Why stop at 60? Why not just uncap it and let the hardware produce the highest frames possible?
You hear xbox get a lot of slack for their lack of exclusives, but honestly I don't care, since the majority of the games my friends and I play are all multiplat games, like BF and Borderlands, and Mass Effect MP. When it comes down to preference, I will take the functionality and features of XBL over PSN any day.
I don't base my purchase around exclusives. I base it around which console is going to allow for the best gaming experience with my friends, and we all agr...
Instead of actually seeing what my post was about, you guys decided to take offense and see it as an attack against Sony and/or their devs. I never once implied that Sony's 1st party studios are incompetent.
My post was merely stating that specs on paper without actually having any hands-on time with the console, only goes so far. Regardless of the numerous dev interviews or press pieces or how talented their devs are, until they actually start producing games and we act...
Raw power only goes so far. What developers do with it tends to be the more important factor, which is why in terms of the PS4 many have been saying for months, specs on paper don't necessarily tell the whole story.
I'm not denying that PS4 isn't an impressive piece of hardware, but I think those who are already convinced that Sony has already won and MS should just throw in towel, are a little premature in their beliefs. I'm sure MS will have a few surprises...
If you want PS on your TV, just run an HDMI cable from your video card to your TV. I just got done downloading Pacific Rim on my PC and watching it on my TV in this exact way.
It isn't really about what you do or don't want, it's about the technology being available and the potential/capabilities that it brings. All too often I see things announced, and people chiming in trying to downplay them with responses like, "why would anyone want that?" or "I don't need that," or my favorite game related one, "real gamers don't want that." All these people are completely missing the point.
Two strong example...
They do make nice IPS monitors though, both for professional use and gaming.
At all the "competition is good" comments - you're wrong. There are numerous studies with evidence showing that in an co-op environment vs a competitive one, the co-op environment overwhelmingly favors better in facets such as creativity, productivity and on a personal level, self-esteem.
The practice of pitting companies (or individuals) against one another with the result that one can succeed only if others fail, is not only sadistic in it's own right, but...
The Shepard/Mordin betrayal was horrible. I remember my second playthrough was when I opted to betrayed him. After the event and cutscenes were over, I felt so guilty and uneasy, I reloaded back before I betrayed him, and changed my mind.
AS mentioned, the visuals of this game compared to 2K14 are completely different. Not different in terms of one is better than the other, different in terms of art direction, so you can't really say the graphics of either game are better or worse, since it seems to stem more from aesthetics not graphics. That being said, the real deciding factor is going to be gameplay and features.
Personally, I don't play sports games - I haven't since the 16-bit era, but I see...
"forbidden in your house?" Really?! So nobody in your house can buy or play xbox, regardless if it includes you or not? Little extreme there, don't you think? Would hate to see what would happen if your kids came home and told you something like they were gay, or an atheist, or a gay atheist, or even worse, one of them got a job at Mircrosoft...in the xbox PR department.
His biggest downfall, like many of the more "extreme" fans, is he is more concerned with being anti xbox than being pro PS4. Being a fan of something is fine, but when you spend more of your time criticizing the competition than showing excitement for what you love, it does a lot to tarnish your image and credibility - This goes for all fanboys.
Anyone insane enough to actually go out shopping on Black Friday, deserves some type of deal. personally, I try to avoid retail shopping at all costs, and prefer shopping online, I never ever buy anything from fucking Gamestop.
Sony enthusiasts can quote spec sheets all day long, but it really isn't enough. See, the argument isn't about whether or not PS4 has more powerful hardware than X1, the argument is what does that amount to? If the PS4 is boasting 50% more power, is that going to amount to 50% more graphically impressive and better performing games? Likely not.
Sony fans love to post spec comparisons, because the numbers paint PS4 as the clear winner, but it doesn't factor in a lo...
It's like a train wreck or a tipped over tractor trailer - you just can't look away...
"What they tried to pull on you?" You mean offer a product with features you found undesirable and didn't have to buy?...
Some of you act like MS attempted to pass a federal law that forced people to buy their console and endure all the features their initial reveal entailed.
