"..If we see that a product is a hundred dollars more and has a weaker grapchis card, uses ddr3 which has been proven to handicap game resolutions and output. Consumers will go with the product that makes the most sense."
- And do you really think the bulk of the consumer-base, that is everyday run of the mill people, are going to compare prices and say , "well, it's using ddr3 RAM and has a weaker GPU...I'm going for PS4.." No, they're not.. I...
I've never owned a Playstation, and have no desire to. The platform as whole, from it's UI, exclusives, online service, controller and even the community, are not appealing to me at all. This is not a troll attempt, I simply saw the first comment as question, regardless if rhetoric, and wanted to answer it.
As an added bonus, it has an extra disk that includes Fallout 1 and 2 re-done with full 3D models and HD support....well, that would be awesome at least....
popularity =/= quality...
Look at all the albums Lil Wayne sells compared to Dream Theater. Which artist(s) is more talented?
It seems that the amount of "distrust" people are showing towards MS, seems to extend no further than a personal level, meaning that the attitudes expressed of being weary and cautions of MS, are only because they fear or are convinced that MS's actions will effect them personally. If MS was partaking in equally "shady" practices, but for one reason or another, it had no effect on the individual, it seems they likely could care less. To a larger extent, it's like k...
@SlapHappyJesus
Wouldn't exactly call people lining up for stores to open at the ass crack of dawn and funneling into the doors like a stampede of elephants, battling over consumer goods like they are scare resources, "smart"...
As far as giving money to MS is concerned, anyone who has a Windows-based PC, or any other windows device, is excluded from any anti-MS comments in this regard.
@DayZ
"Won't change anything tho.The xbox fans, as proven over the years of mistreatment, will still come crawling back and defend them (no matter what) until the very end.
Serious case of battered wife syndrome with that company and it's loyal consumers."
- The same could be said of US citizens and the Government. The amount of people who still believe the Government can do know wrong, or would never go THAT far, or the US ...
@Godmars290
"And sorry again, but people say that Xbox camp follows MS blindly because no matter what they do their fans agree with it. Be it increased fees for XBL which come with no general benefit, or Kinect being required. Which became especially sad with the counterargument of, "there are cameras on every street corner, why not our homes?" With no distinction between government and a corporation. "
- Perhaps you are wrongfully using &...
You are shifting your argument to your favor. Your original statement was, "but is still vastly cheaper than any pc that's equivalent now," implying that a PS4 is less expensive than an entire PC that is the equivalent (comparable) to a PS4.
That being said, a PC with equivalent/comparable specs to a PS4, is capable of far more than a PS4, since a PS4 is a dedicated entertainment device, and a PC is a tool.
Even speaking in terms of high end PC...
And does vastly less as well....
we can play the "mines bigger than yours," game all day, but it ultimately just winds up going in circles.
...and real men want Xbox One's...sorry, the title left it wide open for that one, :)
Key words in your comment are "right now." There will be other exclusives that help push X1's into people's homes, for instance, the next Halo.
@the BAWSE
"bungie made the xbox with halo."
- Actually, Microsoft made the Xbox with Halo. Bungie was originally slated to design Halo as an RTS game for Mac and WIndows. It wasn't until MS acquired Bungie which effectively turned Halo into an Xbox launch title, that we wound up with what we got.
If not for MS, Halo likely would have been a completely different game, that never even touched consoles.
I think the more important question is, "who cares?"
I'll be getting Destiny on X1, as will my friends, and I assure you we will be having the same amount of fun 1080p or not. I have a gaming PC - I know what high-end graphics are possible in games. This is not the reason I play on console.
Although it is good news to hear that PS4 players will be able to enjoy this game at the same visual quality as PC gamers, the game has modest system req's on PC, by no means a juggernaut to run, so the "power of the PS4" or similar comments, are little misplaced here. Now if this was something like a Crysis 3 port running at 1080p at max settings, then we'd have something to talk about.

"You're the exact type of person MS is going for. Funny you made those statements, but left out the key thing for being a console owner is GAMES."
He actually does address this, just indirectly. In addition to stating that he prefers to GAME on Xbox several times, his reasons mentioned for preferring Xbox over PS are XBL, controller, and friends, all of which relate to gaming. He seems to focusing more on the overall gaming experienc...
@Triella
Actually, what you imply is not %100 truth, here's why:
"Rumors about Xbone hardware being less powerful became fact,"
- More powerful how? If you are simply looking at numbers on paper, then perhaps you have an argument, but when you really get into specifics, you find that each system has strengths and weaknesses over the other. Now I'm sure you and many others will simply see this as "apologetic" or &qu...
@thereapersson
The %100 difference has to do with included extras, not increased hardware performance, or even the claim of superior hardware performance. The extra cost has to do with the bundled Kinect and even the included HDMI-in port - you are paying more because you are physically getting more. It's like the difference between buying a PS4 bundle system, and a standard system. Your argument is moot.
"Preorder numbers didn't exist. And I assure you, then as now, there were comparisons amongst consumers about what was better than what."
- Yes, we understand this... He wasn't arguing that comparisons and such didn't/don't exist, he is arguing the importance or relevance of them. Say Sony outsells MS 2 to 1 - is this going to somehow cancel out the enjoyment xbox players have? Is it going to make the games less fun to play? Is it going to make the o...
