and it still looks better... that's the point.
I can agree, that it is unfair to GT5 to compare it to a finished game, but the point was to show that even at this stage, Turn 10 was spewing a bunch of crap from their mouths when they said Forza 3 had the best graphics of any racing game. GT5 prologue outdoes forza 3 in many ways, and this only takes that even further.
Forza 3 is a good looking game, but had turn 10 not hyped it to be the best we wouldn't even be having this conversation (well, I wouldn't).
no... all I did was prove them wrong, so that maybe next time they'll keep their mouths shut before trying to claim they make the best looking racer there is. I sat at the microsoft press conference at e3 and watched them say it, then heard it again when I interviewed them later that week. They did nothing but trash talk gt5, when gt5 still was in the lead when it came to things like features, number of cars, graphics, etc.
this was simply calling them out, but doing so in a fair...
maybe if they had actually shut their mouths for a moment and spent some time tuning those graphics, this wouldn't have turned out this way. but no.... they had to spend the entire time spouting off about how much better they were than gran turismo rather than just focusing on their product.
that's what really killed it for me with turn 10. I actually respect the game they've made, it's a very solid racer. but, they just trash talk too damn much.

ummm... no. look at that low res blurry dashboard in the interior shots, or the lack of any real reflections on the windows, or the low res reflections on the cars... even blaze (someone I know is about as console neutral as it gets, someone who LOVES their 360) gave this one to gt5. take the fanboy goggles off there...
it's a little more than just 2 polygons extra... the amount of detail in gt5 is staggering.
and why care? well... realistic graphics provide immersion. an immersive driving simulation is what we're going for with these 2 games. both have claimed superiority over each other, so we're putting them to the test and making them put their money where their mouth is.
if you actually read the article you'd know why it was in the 360 section. as for the source being a "12 year old"... got any proof of that? could it just be that they don't natively speak english and therefore do not type like an educated american would?
but of course, I shouldn't have to prove someone wrong that only has 2 bubbles... you obviously don't have much pull around here.
complete bull, just like psp 4000, ps3 slim, price cut, fw 3.0... yeah. bull. not like I didn't provide links to prove the credibility of the source and all...
PS3 hasn't tried to replace it's bd drive and go download only...
I'll take a 4000, I like the larger screen and backwards compatibility with umd's.

Just because Bioware didn't develop a PS3 version doesn't mean it won't get ported by EA.
This is far better than that red-blue crap was, there is no flicker on the image also like on older clear glasses 3-d technologies. I've used it myself at this year's e3, and it works very well.
"2D" Blu-Ray players that are able to have their firmware updated will be able to play the new 3-D blu-ray movies just like PS3 will. It's only the older ones, the ones that were sold when BD first came out and do not have the ability to update their firmware, that won't be able to play the 3D bd's.
And of course, PS3 is forward-compatible with it. It literally only does EVERYTHING. 3-D gaming and now movies.
I imagine now Microsoft will enable 3d gaming on it's HDMI equipped 360's (those that don't have HDMI will be out of luck, component doesn't support the frame rate needed for 3D and I doubt many 3dtv's will accept a 3d signal over VGA, as most tv's don't even let you get HD over VGA (1024x768 limit) for piracy reasons). Whether the 360 could output at those frame rates ...
anyone who thinks forza 3 looks better... bear in mind the ps3 shot is from a year old "tech demo" called gt5 prologue. much poorer reflections, shading, car models, the track looks like a pixelated mess... there is no contest here.
