"This is just useless info. Boring "
The 40GBs are more durable, although the 60's are also pretty rock solid. my first 60gb burned up on me already, though i did leave it on non stop. with the improvements made to the 40gb's cooling system, this wouldn't be as likely. so, for those looking to buy either a used 60gb or a new 40gb and durability is something they are concearned about, this is far from useless info.
"Now let do a 360 models. "
we're working on doing all consoles side by side, as well as their various models, but we have to get all that hardware together first. give us time...
The 80GB's use the 65nm chips as well IIRC.
Many thanks to PSI's Robin Segitz for putting this one together. I can't wait to see what he's able to come up with next time he busts out the FLIR camera!
Microsoft lost $6 billion on the original Xbox, and $2 billion more on the 360's RROD and launch costs. That's $8 billion in cash down the hole. They have a lot of reason to fear Sony. They lead by 8 million in sales on ONE console. Even if you factor in the 24 million Xbox consoles, that's still only 53.5 million consoles on the market. Not counting the PS1 and it's 100+ million units (being that many stores do not stock PS1 games anymore), Sony is currently enjoying 67.7 million with PS3 an...
what a garbage article. first they get the cryengine 3 announcement wrong as if they'd announced crysis for consoles, which they didn't... then they go on to speculate crap about MGS5 when the game isn't even announced. The game very well could not be called MGS5 to begin with, as it was made very clear that mgs4 was solid snake's last game. hence the "the next metal gear..." and not "the next metal gear solid". the pic of raiden only further backs that up.

Just keep in mind folks, if the rumors hold up (they were right about the 80GB 2 game bundle), then it won't launch until late may and we'll probably hear about it late april or early may (gamer's day possibly). They won't want to drop the bomb too early, as it will hurt sales until the price cut arrives.
Sony would never announce a price cut this long before it's actually supposed to happen. Remember the rumors have stated that the 40GB price reduced SKU isn't supposed to debut until may. Now go back and look at Sony's past history of announcing price cuts for PS3. Did they ever drop word almost 2 full months ahead of time that they were cutting the price? Nope. Why? Well, that would kill any sales that they would get from now until the price cut, as everyone would be waiting for the cut. If ...
My take on a new MGS:
Will probably not have Solid Snake as the main character (kojima repeatedly states MGS4 was the end of Snake).
Will probably stay exclusive to PS3 (MGS4 sold over 4 million copies on PS3, negating a need to go multiplatform. Plus, there's any cash Sony is willing to give up for exclusivity like they surely did with MGS4, and Kojima is a visionary director that likes to have his games take advantage of the latest tech. MGS4 filling a dual layered...
this is no confirmation, easy there fanboy. it's only a bundle. the actual rumors state that the actual price reduced unit goes on sale in may, will be 40gb, and will cost $299. if you let anything other than negative ps3 news filter through that brain of yours you would have known that by now.
this is old news, regardless of if a flyer says it or not. we had pics of the bundle last week. rumor has it that the price reduced unit will actually be a 40gb and won't launch until may, which still fits in with Target saying a new bundle will launch soon for $400. no need to advertise a unit 2 months away.
"Microsoft and the Xbox 360 continue to dominate in everything imaginable. "
except nintendo, or making consoles that actually work, or portable music players, or the japanese gaming market, or any gaming market for that matter. Claiming second place by a thin margin, losing exclusives left and right (oblivion, bioshock, ng, ng2, lost planet, etc)... hardly dominating anything at all.
Not to mention by the time this tech hits, the motion control fad will ha...
sotc online actually holds a lot of potential. considering the vast, open world and massive beasts which could be littered about it, there is plenty of room to include a large number of players in it taking on different quests. After seeing what GOW3 did with the Titans... I can't wait!
I'm also curious to know what else they're working on. If this 2 project setup is true, that would explain why we haven't heard anything at all from them in the 2 1/2 years that ps3 has been out. ...
silkrevolver, i couldn't pinpoint anything right off the top of my head (sorry, my memory isn't the best), but is a long time member of the forums (been around for years) and is very respected in the community. I trust his word.
just to give some background, this isn't just a random forum member that posted these rumors. he's a very credible member who has posted a LOT of news in the past that has come to be true. he actually works for another gaming site, but I won't mention which one because i don't want anyone getting in trouble.
SoTC online sounds very interesting also...
3.
how so? care to actually back that claim with reason? it wouldn't be the first time a 40GB SKU was introduced as part of a price cut, and it fits in line with the reports of certain retailers getting 80GB bundles with 2 games for $399.

i can agree it does sound too soon to announce, but look at the last time they announced a price cut...

even if a demo were to launch later than the live version, it would have nothing to do with this, as the publisher still has to pay no matter when they launch it (forgot about re5 being delayed a week on psn). the comment was that psn "always gets stuff last, if at all", which is far from the truth. psn might get a demo or two later from time to time, but that's all. and, being that ps3 is well known for taking more time to develop for, i'm willing to bet that it has nothing to do w...
"You cant even suggest that, seriously?
Did you even see the full top 20 NPD for February?
A little hint, the 3rd highest selling PS3 game was outsold by HALO 3 and LEFT FOR DEAD. "
mynd... lol. are left for dead or halo 3 multiplatform titles? didn't think so. that's what this article is talking about, so quit throwing out red herrings.
ylod's can actually be fixed. we're working on a video tutorial to show you how.
