I love how he always quotes US numbers as if we're the only place on earth. You can't quote that you're outselling the competition 2:1 like it's a good thing when you're still getting your ass handed to you in worldwide sales.
It's no different than Sony saying "We've got many, many times more sales than Xbox 360", then coming out a few days later and saying "oops, we meant in japan".
All the NPD data in the world isn't going to change the fact ...
you don't want to experience this type of 3D... it'll give you a headache in no time. and the fact that they say the glasses are included means it is using colored glasses to achieve it's effect, as polarized glasses wouldn't work with 3dtv's which require shutter glasses, and shutter glasses are far too expensive to include 4 per game (about $75-130 each).
there's only one issue I have with this demo... there's is hardly any light, and little to no color. such conditions could easily hide poor resolution textures, aliasing (not as many objects visible), etc.
It had some good looking vegetation, but we've seen as good in plenty of games by now, and it definitely wasn't on the level of Uncharted.
the amount of senseless FUD articles that have popped up since move was announced is staggering. the stupidity is just indescribable.
It's got a cool visual style. Nice use of depth of field effects.
Of course it'll be optional people. Try to actually think for a minute, and you'll realize that Sony would not be stupid enough to take one of it's best selling franchises and alienate most of it's install base by requiring you to buy extra gear to play it. All the other KZ games have done just fine with sixaxis/dual shock, and this one will as well.
And the only thing needed to be done to make 3d optional is to just show the left eye's frames. Again, they would not alienate the ...
they couldn't sell something that was not theirs to sell. activision owns at least part of the call of duty franchise. all they could have done was quit activision and went to work for another studio (i bet EA was that studio), or formed their own (which I hope happens). this had nothing at all to do with selling anyone exclusivity for any game.
actually kinda high, since activision has to sue IW to get out of that contract. IW is still on paper as the developer of MW3, so basically activision just blew a bunch of smoke up our asses when they said sledgehammer is developing it, because as of now they legally can't.
the whole "we're extending the MW franchise into the action-adventure genre" part just made me puke in the back of my mouth a little...
Indeed. Ben is one of our best writers, always delivering on quality editorial pieces.
rumor has it that activision had IW contracted for 2 more games. one new IP and modern warfare 3. Since their guitar hero cash was tanking, activision wanted a new MW game to milk some more cash from right now! but, IW didn't see it that way. They felt they'd earned that new IP instead, and wanted to put MW3 off until it was done. That's what supposedly led to this whole firing thing.
what? you just sold us 12 million games and are considered to be one of the best developers out there? FIRED!
yep, a modern warfare action adventure gaming. let's take a war game and remove it from the genre it fits most with, FPS. smaaaaaaart.
what an arrogant ass, kotick and the rest of activision, for doing this. IW was the best thing they had going for them.
if the internal clock thinks it's 2/29/2010, and the system clock doesn't see a possibility for a 2/29/2010 to exist (because it doesn't), a conflict will occur. copy protected games/rental movies/trophy data (that would check for the correct date/time) would all be affected.
This is why many think that when the system clock rolls over to 3/1, the system clock will recognize that it is wrong and reset it. but, because it is set to a date that does not exist, the system clock is ...
take the pipe... set it over there next to the bottle. now get up. go lay in bed. get some rest. you'll feel better in the morning.
not if the internal clock is set to GMT. the system clock likely adds/subtracts from what the internal clock is set to based upon your time zone.
edit, was meant to be a reply to 2.1.
actually, 12am GMT would be 6pm central.
midnight GMT, just to clarify. it's what the internal clock is most likely set to. if not, you'll need to wait for midnight your time (assuming this self-fix even works).
read the article next time before commenting... this issue might fix itself.
the bug had nothing to do with online... it was built into the system's firmware which made it think this year was a leap year. if this console didn't have the capability to connect to the internet and update itself, such an issue may never be fixable. in this case, we'll most likely just have to wait a day for it to work again.
This isn't about justifying it's lag, it's about pointing out that the lag is only there in certain circumstances. They picked out the most laggy (and likely least used for core games) feature they could find to show off it's lag. This article is just to point out that those of us who will be playing games like Socom on Move shouldn't experience such lag, as it's not having to wait on the video feed from the camera to produce input. Something they failed to mention in the article.
