well, the screens they've released for crysis 2 so far must have been from a pre-pre-pre-pre-alpha stage, because they are NOWHERE near killzone 2 in quality. horrible textures, aliasing... not much ground for him to stand on.
like this one, for instance...

the textures on the rocks to the right of the gun... what ar...
Does anyone else see the irony in his statement?
"graphics are good, story is good, but gameplay is what matters the most, so here's a trailer that shows absolutely none of that!"
aside from that, it looks good. likely an in-engine cinematic with some extra post processing effects thrown in, but I still want to see how the actual game looks in action. the previous 2 were easy on the eyes, but back then they didn't have the type of competition you see with t...
what game is that right at the end of the video, at 2:27?
If you actually looked at the facts, you'd see that your delusion is far from true. Sony hasn't even rolled out their best selling franchise (Gran Turismo), and the demo of it (prologue) still outsold the best MS could throw at it (forza 3) even with a smaller install base.
This isn't even touching on 3D, move, etc. And who are you to say they can't afford another price cut? If it means more software sales for them to offset the loss of $50 or so per system (since they're breakin...
far from it. both are healthier than ever.
PS3 also has one more advantage some of you may not have considered. Until now, the term "multiplatform" on ps3 has usually meant it's also on xbox. but now with move we're going to see certain high profile third party games come to wii and ps3 as well. this new stream of games will benefit both also, because more third party devs will be willing to put more into the wii type control scheme making it easy to port a game originally intended for ps3 to the wii. this will result in mor...
some polls are already suggesting that only 39% of those who plan on buying GT5 already have a ps3.
then we have move, last guardian, Resistance/killzone 3, 3D gaming, and whatever else is revealed at E3.
MS has natal and some good games in the pipe (including the sure seller Reach), so it'll be close.
this isn't about which one is winning, but what we stand to gain from the fallout of the battle.
maybe because you haven't paid attention to the sales over the last 6 months?
I love sitting back and watching them throw punches and talk trash. In the end, it trickles down to me as more features, better games, cheaper systems/features... it's a win/win for us on the receiving end of it.
definitely not, as the article states, all consoles have reached the point of viability and neither is in any real danger. however, public perception is affected somewhat. you'd be surprised how many average folks get advice from fanboys about their next console purchase. like the guy in gamestop who tried to tell me I was "just wasting my money" when I bought a PS3. Or the kids you'll see trash talking whatever system in best buy or wal mart. you'd be surprised how many actually li...
pixelsword, head tracking is NOT 3d. it only works when you move your head.
and hdmi 1.2 cannot send 3d data to a 3dtv which (all of them now) use hdmi 1.4. it's part of the specification. the 3d modes available currently only display at 60fps, which then gets divided in half to 30 (one frame for each eye), and by the time you see it it's flickering like hell and will cause a nasty headache. even though not all ps3 games will display at 120fps natively (some already do, like Sup...
first of all, if the video wasn't just the same damn demo we've been seeing for a year now, and was actually something somewhat interesting (like... an ACTUAL game being played, with any sort of skill), then it couldn't be flame bait. the video itself is flame bait without the poster of the video even having to say or do anything. MS are flaming themselves by only letting people see the same retarded demo over and over and not even letting anyone film any of that.
lots of improvements to last year's game. should be worth getting, but i'd like to have more time to play it.
it didn't stick to me either at first, but give it a while. get good at it, and you'll be addicted.
lol... nice way to try and cover your ass. How do you know he hadn't uploaded his images yet either? haha.
it's kinda childish to call out other sites for stuff you've done in the past. not only you, but many, many other sites. I mean, you're talking about a brief writeup to introduce a press release, which will hold little to no further information related to what's in the release and only serves as fluff to fill the article with something other than the release itself. hardly ...
I need to get this... I've been neglecting drake lately in favor of kratos.
Using the same assets you used in game to make a pre-rendered scene that plays as the game loads in the background is a FAR CRY from using much higher resolution models and rendering in your cutscenes and then using scaled down versions in game.
In UC2, the models are identical. don't believe me? walk drake into a corner, and look at the detail on his model (or chloe or elana's) by panning the camera around. Same exact resolution seen in all of the cut scenes. The fact that they...
looks like it was made for sixaxis tilt.
