I had been told by a sega rep on the phone that the best way to go about it (without using cleaners) was to repeatedly push the cart in and out of it's socket in the system, which will clean the connection. It worked for me.
they pretty much already have.
The games already being shown for next gen consoles already disagree with that comment. Watch dogs? Easily as much of a difference between PS2 GTAs and GTA4. While you may not see 20x more polygons per player, the lighting, physics, shadows, post processing effects, etc. are so far beyond PS3/360 it isn't even funny. Being that all of those things contribute to the visual image being rendered (graphics), your statement doesn't hold water.
Compare the Final Fantasy rea...
Oh, we're back to this argument again. Just like wii all over again... which may I add was dead in the water just over 4 years after it's release. Wii U doesn't even have the new type of controller gimmick to rely on this time either, since both 360 and PS3 have their own equivalents of the screen controller, and the next gen consoles Wii U was meant to compete against will likely have even more screen/controller integration capabilities (if that type of thing even starts to take ...
"thanks to even more eDRAM, the Wii U version of the Radeon HD 5670 that has been custom built is actually more powerful than the original PC version of the card. This is extremely vital, because the HD 5670 is in fact a GPGPU."
Is this why the wii version of call of duty is missing certain shadow effects and all normal maps? These are tasks that run on the GPU, not CPU.
I would imagine that if 720/Durango were to use a blu-ray drive, they would go ahead and include the functionality for it to be able to read more than 2 layers. From what I've heard, PS3 can even read some of those 4+ layer discs, it would just require a firmware update. As such, 4k on both systems for movies (both online and disc based) should be expected IMO. However, most folks aren't ready to buy new TVs just yet. Everyone just finally upgraded to 720p/1080p. 10 years ago you were...
Occluded, 1080p60 has 6 times more pixels than 480p, which is still considered "enhanced standard definition" while also having twice as many frames per second. 480i, the true "standard definition" of television, has 240 lines of resolution on any given field (2 interlaced fields complete 1 full frame, 60 fields per second.), so 1080p60 is actually 12 times higher pixel resolution than 480i.
Those that want 4k out of Orbis/Durango... You can get it, but d...
Considering the CPU is responsible for things like Physics, audio processing, input/output, etc... It does make it a weak system. Like the guys at DICE saying that they won't be able to get as many players on Wii U versions of future COD titles due to it having a weaker CPU. When you are having to cut things from a game due to the limitations of a hardware component, it does indeed mean that the system is not up to par as far as power goes. Everyone expected Wii U to be the weakest of the...
I hate using it. I always use a dual shock in my left hand (left analog to move, L2 to crouch, L1 jump, L3 use, D pad for other functions, I'll even map the select button if I need one more as I can still reach it with my left hand), mouse in my right. Analog control is so much better, especially in FPS games with vehicle combat. You'll never have a driver using WASD that is as good as someone with analog control. You can only get so much control with digital buttons. I first started ...
When an emulator runs a game, it actually takes the polygon meshes and renders them at whatever resolution it is set to run at. This is a native render. So, if your emulator is set to output at 1080p, you are getting a native 1080p render AT THE POLYGON LEVEL. However, when you add textures to those polygons, unless new high resolution textures are added (like many of the Ps3 re-releases of PS2 games), you are still getting the exact same texture resolution. So, you'll have nice sharp 108...
Nothing to write home about. I think I noticed a bit of lens flare that was not in the ps3 version... What I want to see is a more detailed analysis that shows native res, FPS, etc.
To those saying "this isn't a game made to take advantage of the Wii U", of course it isn't. If it was it wouldn't be running on the other systems also, as any multiplatform title has to cater to the lowest common denominator in order to ensure that it can run on every system...
One gaming website interviewing another...?
Considering the PS4/Orbis will likely ditch the cell processor in favor of a more conventional (and more powerful by today's standards) CPU, backwards compatibility will be very difficult. Much like, after removing the PS2's CPU and GPU from the launch model of PS3, it also was not able to emulate the PS2's games well enough to release an all in one emulator, so backwards compatibility was removed on future models. Individual PS2 games instead got re-released as a result. It actua...
It's simple. Fanboys cannot see their beloved game/console getting based without responding. So, when a no-name site posts a negative review of a beloved game, the fanboys come pouring in to it's defense and the article's temp shoots up to 1000 degrees. The site then laughs all the way to the bank as the fanboys argue in the comment sections.
So I guess it's wrong to say that touching a pair of breasts is a pleasurable experience, lest it be "objectifying" women. Boobs feel nice. Develop a sense of humor and get over it already.
Seriously, if this were an ad featuring a dude with bulging junk on both sides of his pants, I don't think a single (straight) dude would buy the product but I damn sure wouldn't be hearing anyone bitching and moaning about objectification or sexism.
The rumors never said the A10 was going to be the only GPU in the system. In fact, their goal of "1080p in 3D at 60fps with no problems" would not even be remotely possible using only the A10 APU, so the rumor contradicts itself right there. A modern dedicated GPU would also be required, along with plenty of RAM. So, articles like this aren't barking up the right tree. You cannot base such speculation on rumors of specs that are obviously incomplete.
WiiU can do 1080p60, on current gen games. Just like PS3 can do 1080p60 on previous gen games. It isn't the resolution or the framerate alone that determines a system's power, it's what fidelity the visuals at that resolution/frame rate are being rendered at. If you're doing visuals well above the level of Uncharted 3 at 1080p60 in 3D (I doubt Wii U could even run current gen games at 1080p60 in 3D, that's essentially 2x the power needed to render), then you have something...
This is actually a great idea at targeting the device towards casual gamers... Include a more interactive form of Karaoke right out of the box. Bundle it with a mic and a controller, and i think it'd do well over the holidays. I'm not sure why it's such a territory specific move though, perhaps singstar is more popular over there in europe.
You can't really sugar coat going from a 5 second startup time to a 30 second startup time as a good thing. That said, with them transitioning the store to HTML5, updates will be very easy and I expect videos like this will influence those updates as well. They were talking about monthly updates, so I expect to see the issues seen here addressed soon.
Many people criticized Sony about doing the same thing... but the all in one media device concept has worked pretty well for them. It opened up a market for them that they never would have had otherwise. For instance, my grandmother uses my PS3 for Amazon Prime. She now wants one of her own, just to do that.
I honestly think Sony and MS both have a lot to gain by putting out useful apps like we have on our phones. As long as they're not slacking on games, I see no issue ...
