Good to see I wasn't completely trashed for that opinion... lol. Goes to show MGS fans have some maturity to them and are able to handle a dissenting opinion or two once in a while.
I love MGS, but just never was that impressed by ol' Hayter. His voice worked, but as said above it just seemed forced and cliche. It did work within the comical context that MGS always has kept, but perhaps Kojima wants to take MGS in a more serious direction this time. Who knows. I know...
Hayter's voice sucked. Yeah, I said it. The only reason people like it is because it is associated with an icon. The voice acting is pretty bad really.
Two paragraphs... About one mistake... In one game... Really?
Yes, PSEye did have a multi-arraay mic, could track your full body (even if not in 3d), was capable of facial and voice recognition (it's possible on ANY camera with enough resolution to see your face, that is done in software, not hardware. voice recognition was first used in console games in the mid 90's.).
Oh, and guess what? The new PSeye doesn't use infrared at all. It's a stereoscopic HD camera. Nice try troll, but GTFO.
A PC good enough to run this game better than a
PS3 is going to cost you a lot more than a PS3... and the PC version in this comparison doesn't look anywhere near good enough to justify that extra cost in my eyes.
Sony got hit with the same rumors just before PS4's reveal. They dealt with them by just coming out and saying "Yes, it'll play used games.".
What about... it was a joke. Either way, it's plausible they'd try it. We already see it in the PC world with many games requiring a net connection to play them. 360 did get hit hard by piracy last time. I knew several people who sold modded Xbox 360's.
No! *waves hand* It's teh fuuuuuutuuuurre!
Not all people enjoy seeing a dude making out with another dude, whereas there aren't many who would say they're grossed out by seeing a dude with a chick. It isn't even a homophobia issue, some people just don't like to see certain things, and I can't say they should be held at fault. It's just a matter of personal taste, and the majority happens to favor that taste.
It's like my friend who rented that movie with Jim Carey where he plays a gay... ...
What a stupid article. First of all, there was no indication that the interviewee was CG given by Kojima, only mentions of realistic characters. Second, we've seen Fox engine. We've seen that it comes nowhere close to the Quantic Dream tech demo in realism.
We're approaching reality in-game folks, but don't get ahead of yourselves.
Why bother? You still have to have the original just to make it work. The only use I could see for this is if your disc were to get scratched beyond repair, you could then play backups (not really useful for PS3 games since they have an anti-scratch coating), but other than that it's a waste of time.
Looks like Wii U is getting the same kind of third party support Wii had...
I would, but if I bought a PC that small for the same price as a PS4, it wouldn't be anywhere near as powerful. Nowhere near the bandwidth, not in a closed environment (having much more OS overhead and such), and it probably would still consume more power.
Plus I'd miss out on all those amazing SCEWWS exclusives.
Shutting down a game that requires a connection to work is far different than shutting down the online potion of a RPG. There would be a lot of people who just bought MAG who wouldn't be very happy about that.
Vulcan, when the GPU that you do have to upgrade every few years costs as much (or almost as much) as an entire console, that kinda destroys your argument. Impressive that CPU has held up so well none the less.
And the console is about having close enough to approximate what the PC owner paid three to four times as much for to satisfy those who only care to drop $400 on their video game systems, and who don't care to have a massive, noisy, power hungry PC hooked up to their living room TV.
Enjoy your tower of gaming power... I'll stick to my console.
Also, enjoy the tiny handful of games that actually pushes your super expensive GPU that hard which release f...
Doesn't look like we'll be seeing this tech for a while.
No joke... you bought an HD console. Get a HDTV to hook it up to. You can get HDTVs for under $200 now.
Always remember... a multiplatform game typically caters to the lowest common denominator. Taking time to code a game to take advantage of specific advantages in a particular system can take a lot of development time and cost a lot of money as a result. Most devs just stick to what both can do. The same will be true next gen. Games like this will likely stick to what both machines can run, rather than trying to squeeze more bandwidth or more GPU power out of any particular system.

It's OK people. Don't panic. Just read this article, it'll all be alright. Ignore the rabble. This article will make everything alright. You can pull your head out from under the covers.
