"Alan Wake Arrives for PC in February, and Won’t Use Games For Windows Live"
Alpha, you are so right. Operation Flashpoint is a game that comes to mind while reading your post. Dragon Rising, while not the most polished, provided a hc enough experience, that at the very least, showed great potential for future releases. There was nothing like it on consoles, and I couldn't applaud that more. Sadly, the follow up to DR, Red River, was influenced by COD numbers, and Codemasters decided it was wise to "streamline" the game in a feeble attempt to garner more...
Good list. I would compound Ninja Gaiden with the original NES trilogy. Those games were no cakewalks, either.
"I got a wired one"
My bad, Pik. That's a 510. The 710 is what I have. You're doing good to get the wired version. Wish I had known better. Don't know why you got a disagree.
I have that controller. It's nice for its PS3 feel. But it blows if you stray too far away from the receiver.
Wow!! A mature comment. Almost forgot what one of those looks like. Anyways, totally agree. Like you, along with a PS3, I have a semi-decent gaming rig, but it does its job.
At first, I was like "RDR??", but then I started thinking about the opening credits where you're eavesdropping on the women's conversation of the state of the West which basically reveals the backdrop of the entire game. Not to mention, the ensuing developments with the McFarland family. Good choice.
Took the words right out of my mouth. I'd never witnessed anything like it up to that time. Still to this day, I have never seen presentation innovation to the degree that MGS provided during its time.
@NYC_Gamer
It should matter for those of us that own a PS3, too. Even though I trust SMS to deliver a good game, no developer should be given an opportunity to rest on its laurels.
As great a franchise as The Show has been, NO sports franchise should land an exclusivity agreement. Afterall, it's competition, no matter how great or small, that has put The Show in the position it currently stands at. Over the years, we have seen Madden, and to a much lesser extent, NBA 2K become somewhat complacent due to lack of competition in their respective genres. Exclusivity has become the bane of the last two generations for the sports gaming enthusiasts.
Also, I think it's games like this that are causing people to think that gaming in general, as we once knew it, is dying.
Outland is a GREAT game for anyone who has yet to try it. Been intending to check out From Dust for a while now.
For that matter, he must not have played Mirror's Edge either.
Mindsets and articles like this are among the many reasons why gaming has become as stagnant as it is today. It's understandable that L.A. Noire would be a "bad" game if you were expecting Grand Theft Auto.
@ Wolf
Same thing I was thinking. Don't understand why voice command couldn't be implemented in the other versions. Apparently Ubisoft is the only one capable of making any extensive use of the feature. I thought it was well done in Endwar.
Remember the days when games IN GENERAL were full games?
The N64/Rare version....yes.
Activision's version...not so much.
This was a great list. I haven't had much interest in a Nintendo console since the N64, though I owned a GC for a brief period of time. But if Nintendo were to announce Eternal Darkness 2, I would get a WiiU strictly off that game alone.

If "Msxbox-world is garbage", then why are YOU here??
Let's just hope that at some point there will be another NFL game not named Madden. This exclusivity bs is beyond annoying.
