I would love to see them take another crack at Alpha Protocol. There's some serious untapped potential in a proper modern-day RPG.
So do I. Strange that it didn't touch upon the rise of casual gaming. But one glaring omission the article failed to mention was the unreliability of the HD console hardware this gen. For as much as these systems were priced around launch, it's absurd that the hardware was as problematic as it has been for both consoles. I'm hoping next gen don't fare as bad, but I'm sure that just wishful thinking on my part.
Good pick. But to a greater extent, I'd say The Path of Neo. That game had sooooo much potential, but may have been a little too ambitious for its time (on a technical level). That game done right with a little more polish, length, and consistency with the movies could have been something special.
Agreed. I, personally, can call it the greatest game of the GTA series, but saying "of all time" is a stretch - even though it's among the greats. Heck, there are just too many games to chose from to even proclaim the all time greatest.
Man, what I wouldn't give to see a proper G1 Transformers game.
@Hicken,
Speak Brotha!! You are spot on, m'man.
Irish,
You took the words right out of my mouth. And the worst part about it is the series doesn't even have a difficulty setting. The lack of a challenge is the biggest turn off about the AC games for me.
@Zuper
My thoughts exactly. From a quality gameplay perspective, Madden is having a hard enough time saving itself, let alone the industry as a whole. If anything, it has become more of a disservice to the industry with its stagnation and monopolistic practices.

Would like to see Metal Gear Solid Zero - a current or next gen combined remake of MG1 and MG2.
@TooTall,
Tough, but rewarding. Need more like it.
Outland has to be one of the most underrated DL titles in recent memory. If you're a PS+ member and have been on the hunt for something unique, you owe it to yourself to at least try this game.
Vic, I agree with you about the flamebait silliness in general regardless of what platform, but this one was more of a satirical take.
With the onslaught of negative Sony articles popping up lately, I would bet my bottom dollar that those who approved this article had absolutely no clue as to what the article was ACTUALLY about. Nice read by the way - esp #10.
^^^...in a nutshell.
A last gen game I'd like to see that was ripe with potential, but may have been a little too ambitious for its time (on a technical level) is The Path of Neo. That game done right with a little more polish, length, and consistency could...no... SHOULD have been something special. Oh, the possibilities. Another personal fav of mine is Everything or Nothing.
Same here, and agreed. This "too long" mentality is one that developed this gen. Sounds like more of an excuse, and precursor, that AC3 is possibly going to be the shortest of the series.
^^This times a thousand. With console gaming becoming seemingly more casual by the game, chances grew even slimmer in hopes of seeing "thinking man's" games like rts's and milsims. PC gaming has given me this fix in spades. Similar to the article, I started PC gaming late last year and it's been hard to look back, save for a few console gems like Red Dead and maybe the upcoming Last of Us.

Personally, I would replace “multiplayer” with “lengthier game play”. There's nothing that frustrates me more than publishers taking single player experiences and diluting them with mp. I just downright hate the notion this gen that mp should be shoe horned in every single player experience.
"I've tried to let people know that Kickstarter isn’t the place for funding someone else's franchise," Avellone said, "Sega owns Alpha Protocol, for example, Dungeons and Dragons is Hasbro. That’s a different kettle of fish."
Ok, understandable. So why not do a spiritual successor akin to Perfect Dark when EA nabbed the 007 license, or a more recent example, Dark Souls. Having the freedom to start fresh with a new IP would allow them to expand and ...
