I used to think SE remaking FFVI and to a lesser extent FFVII would be the end all-be-all of my gaming existence. But, anymore, I just don't think I trust SE to do the job right. I might be more optimistic if they handed the games over to their original dev teams, but that's just wishful thinking. I really don't think SE will ever get back to where they were in the mid to late 90's as SquareSoft or as Enix.
I think I'll end up buying both eventually. I'll probably buy the 3DS by the time the PSP2 comes out, then I'll buy the PSP2 six months to a year later when they have a decent line up of games. I may even wait until each system brings out their second model. The price will have come down and there will be improvements made.
Remember the fugly, original Nintendo DS? The DS Lite was superior in every way.
The main problem I (and I think most people) have isn't that SE is milking their franchise, it's that they're making horrible games. They've completely lost touch with what the fans loved in the series. Similar to what Sega has done with Sonic.
I agree that Nintendo completely milks their IP's but many of their games worth playing. Look at Mario Galaxy, how many Mario games are there? And they still made two Mario games that scored 97's on metacritic a...
I still need to play Kirby's Epic Yarn. This looks good though.
Those are some pretty bad deals, I could go to Amazon any day of the week and get those games/items at the same price or lower. The DS3 is always around $40 and you don't need to buy a game to get that price.
There are rumors that you'll be able to remote play with the PSP2, but it hasn't been confirmed. The thing is, if you're using the remote play option, you're streaming from your PS3 which means you'd be using the saves that are already on that system.
I'm not saying it's a bad feature, it's just something I won't be making any use of since I won't be playing from multiple consoles.
Not a big deal for me, I bought a 500GB HDD to store all the games from PS+. I have plenty of space left. What I'd rather have is an option to delete old saves in groups rather than one at a time. I have 200+ saves, I wish I could delete them all at once except I'd like to keep the most recent saves from each game.
Assuming he lives in a country that has laws regarding blackmail, yes, he could be in trouble.
I have to agree, there were only a handful of games worth playing in the first couple years of the PS3. I bought mine for $400 a few months after the release of LittleBigPlanet and I'm so glad I bought it when I did. I was able to play all the games I wanted from the first couple years in a few months, as well as the newer games.
I remember getting that cereal as a kid, I'm pretty sure there were two bags in the box and they both tasted like ass.
It's amazing how many units Nintendo has sold throughout the years and to think, people actually made Nintendo is doomed articles.
Am I the only one that thinks they should ditch the touch pad on the back? It would lower costs and I just can't see too many devs making full use of it. Most developers for the Nintendo DS are still having trouble making full use of the touch pad, without it feeling like a gimmick or making it feel like it was added at the last moment. I say get rid of it and you can drop the price a bit more.
Considering the PSP2 won't be out until the holiday season, I'll probably be getting both. The Nintendo DS has so many great games, it'd be a shame not to play what comes out for the 3DS. The PSP2 is looking like it's going to be something you cannot pass up. Multiplayer anywhere is a great option. I wouldn't be surprised if we see the first portable MMO come out for it.
That was a good read, it brings back some good, but very vague memories of me doing the same thing.

According to this review, the power is only 5-15 watts higher and it actually runs cooler than a 460.

Overlocking performance puts it above ...
I'd buy it if they killed off Vanille and Hope, very early in the game.
Except that in 2 months, nVidia will update their drivers and this card will gain 10% in performance. Whereas, AMD will update and you'll gain nothing. I've never been happy with AMD's driver support.
No game this gen deserves a 10. I loved RDR, I spent a good 50 hours playing it so far and have enjoyed almost every minute. But, the game had its problems, there were many glitches and bugs throughout the game. Nothing game breaking that I experienced, but enough to knock the game down a few tenths of a point.
As much as I want it to happen, I think you're dreaming. Steam competes with PSN, so I can't see Sony giving Valve the go ahead on this. My guess is that Sony lets the social and update aspects of Steam take place, but not the sales portion.
I feel the same way about OoT, having played it after A link to the Past. It was good, but it just felt like A Link to the Past in 3d.
It's a good list; I think I would have filled it with RPGs.
I hope they actually have a story this time around. Demon's Souls was good, but the story was barely there. I also hope they improve on the multiplayer. Depending on your level you may have a huge influx of PK's coming into your area, other times you wouldn't see anyone of days. The multiplayer just needs to be tweaked a bit to allow players to more easily engage each other.
