Why write such a long post when you clearly didn't read or understand what the author was writing about?

I registered and was able to get the link:

It's a pretty fun way to play Mario.

"If you want to bypass all this quick sale stuff you can just throw a very smart $42.49 into the 13 title Rockstar Collection that includes All core GTA titles along with the new Episodes from Liberty City."

That's a steal, I now regret buying GTAIV earlier this week, I could have spent $30 more and gotten all those games.

I have a hard time believing anyone that says they didn't doubt the PS3 would sell well, considering the original price point of $600. There were many times in the beginning of the gen where I thought Sony was in trouble if they didn't change their prices. It took almost two years before the PS3 hit $400 for their most affordable unit. If Sony had left their prices alone, the PS3 would dead right now.

TheFlyingPenguin is right, WINE is not an emulator.

I will say though, this article and the comments here have made me give Linux another try. I've installed it multiple times, but always end up just not using it after I get it all setup. So, I have Ubuntu 9.1 downloading as I type this.

Ouch, I hope that's not $USD you can buy a 512mb 4850 for $100, you can get an Radeon HD 5770 for less than $169, which mostly outperforms the GTX 260.

@persiandud:

I could spend some time and do some research to get you a list of the plot holes, but you could do that just as easily. I seriously cannot remember the majority of problems with MGS; when I read/watch/play something that I dislike it's more easily forgotten. Ask me to talk about something I enjoyed and I'll be able to tell you what was great about it in far better detail.

Some of the things I remember bothering me in MGS:

I'd love to play quality games in 3d, but I won't spend $1,000 on a tv and another $400-600 on 3d gear. When total prices come down to where I can afford it, I'll get on board the 3d train.

It's funny, you can't explain your distaste for the story in the MGS series without hundreds of fanboys screaming how wrong you are and that you must not have understood the story. I played through the entire series over the course of a few weeks to a month, I took my time and read every line and fully understood the story. Imo, the story line is pretty bad, it's just too convoluted, filled with plot holes and badly written dialogue that I couldn't enjoy it.

ROFLMAO @ Gears and Halo, no thanks! Gears of War 1 was crap, imo, I played it on my PC and I was bored after the first few levels. I haven't heard anything to make me believe Gears 2 is any better. The Halo series is another boring set of games, I played the first and second and have no interest in the third. I agree with the other game choices, but luckily, I have a decent enough PC to play ME1 and 2, and SC: Conviction. Alan Wake is the only other Xbox exclusive that I think I'll want to p...

There are certain games I still bust out and play today. I'm currently in the middle of playing Final Fantasy VI for the 20th+ time. I still break out my Genesis every so often and play through The Immortal. And for NES, I play Ninja Gaiden, Zelda and a few others. Those games are still as much fun now, as they were back then for me, maybe even more fun, since I'm better at them now.

If you can't stand retro games because of the graphics... Well, I think that says a lot about wha...

I played through Gears 1 and I have to say, I was really unimpressed. I kept hearing great things about it, but when I actually got a hold of it I thought the game was pretty boring. I had fun at first, but GeoW is just way too repetitive. So, in the end, I would say no, don't bring GeoW to the PS3, unless you want a bunch of disappointed gamers.

I'd rather developers be given too much freedom, rather than not enough. I think too many publishers restrict creativity far too much, which is why we're plagued with "insert generic FPS/TPS" #2, 3, 4, 5....

It sounds like someone didn't know they were being charged per 10 minutes instead of per hour. So, they decided to post an article decrying GameCrush.

@champ21 - The DLC trend can be traced back to the PC. All expansions are a version of what we now call DLC. The only difference is that expansions were sold on a disc. Both offer the same thing though, additional game content for a price. So, this isn't something that's been brought on by console gaming; console gaming just made it more popular. It would have hit the PC market eventually, regardless of what the consoles were doing.

@mikepmcc - Here's what I keep seeing about caveat emptor "This rule is not designed to shield sellers who engage in Fraud or bad faith dealing by making false or misleading representations about the quality or condition of a particular product." There's a hell of a lot more to caveat emptor than "buyer beware."

@dinorawrr - If you had read what I wrote, you'd have seen my mention of the game probably being the publisher's fault. So, I wasn't blaming the retai...

I love how some people always blame the consumer. If you buy an item from somewhere you have a right as a consumer to open a working product unless you're specifically told you're buying that item "as is," which isn't the case here. If you buy that game you're receiving a game that describes itself as completely functional. Granted, it's probably not Wal-Mart's fault for offering a broken game, most likely the fault is on the game's publisher, we don't know for sure though. Still, t...

I usually play FFVI once or twice a year. It's such an epic game, there's so much to do and the story is actually worth paying attention to. lol, I actually racked up $60 in late fees the first time I rented it, totally worth it though. FFVI is the highlight of Square Soft as company. FFVII and VIII were great games, but VI will always be my favorite.
