So where is the actual date?

Spring is from the begining of march to the end of May, right?

I wouldn't have minded something a little more specific.......

Obviously the more money that gets put into the industry the bigger and better the games we get in the future (hopefully).

P.S. My bad for repeating the alternative source, The Round Peg already did it and I wasn't really paying attention....... :)

Do you remember which places had the offer?

that this isn't the first violent incident they have been in? My point being that these kids probably displayed violent tendencies in the past and it is up to the people who notice and are responsible for them (their parents) to keep them away from anything which can exacerbate these tendencies, like games.

Only people that are already disturbed get affected by games.

This game is way too pretty to be "just a photography" game. I think there will be loads more to it.

But as always we will have to wait and see.........

So that means either the actual game will score higher than this from them or the game won't be any better?! Of course that is rubbish but I thought the general rule with these demos and prologues is that they are given a lower score than the actual game (say about 10 - 20% lower because they can still review graphics and play just not so much on content)??

So what *IS* the extra sneaky stuff in the firmware then?

6609d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

You are right, it is all about the story. But funily enough, I liked the story in final fantasy X but hated it in final fantasy XII. It is always good when the characters have back story and we learn new things about them during the game, FFXII had none of that.

I feel pretty sure that the graphics and gameplay elements will be fine. It is just the story that could really let it down.

I was expecting this to be in the first half of 08 at least but apparently not............

Edit: ItsDubC beat me by one/two lousy minutes. Damn my slow connection, damn my inability to type at accurate 100 words/min. Oh cruel fates why do you do this to me.....WHY!??!?!?

I think it will be tough for the games industry not to go the way of hollywood. The line between games and movies is forever blurring in terms of budget, production and marketing.

At the moment the "big budget" gaming industry can still be classed as fresh and new so it is easy for studios not to get caught in polital and financial rhetorics. Give it 10 years though.....

perfectly written but I still think you are being completely premature with your overly harsh critique.

I am sure you will love the final product! (Although, please don't hold me to that)

6614d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Nope, I am with you on this one. I think that most are being prematurely critical of the game so far. Which is understandable as everyone has high expectations for it. But so far, at this early stage, I don't have any major concerns.

Lets just hope it carries on improving!

As the game is reportedly only 2 or 3 % complete (this "demo" the pictures are from is really just for the media) it is really too early to say how this game is really going to play or how it is going to look. All we can really do is just take the developers word for it that this will still feel like the Street Fighter everyone knows and loves.

I for one like the art style in 3d. It still keeps the manga/anime look which in itself takes the game in a different directi...

everythign from the music, the dialogue, the production style just screams Lord of the Rings wannabe.

Chances of being as good though......17.8%?

simply depends on how good it is. It will have to reach the stage of what was describe in the article in a consistent, reliable and easy to learn way. Anything less than this would just write the technology off as a gimmicky gadget that will probably be over priced and under utilised.

Also, to say that this will "invade living rooms" in 2008 is just laughable. I agree with above, 2013 might be about the right time.

If you take a game for what it is, this being fantastic "fun for your money" then this game should be up there in the 9's. Don't get me wrong, I don't think it is perfect but it is a brilliant example of how little fun can cost.

"the first five minutes of the game are just about the same as the next five hours."

But if you get 5 hours out of the game then that is great isn't it? How many games when they first come out offer gaming at a dollar ...

Devs in europe are more creative because the market they are catering is tougher and domands more? Interesting idea. But I always thought that in reality there is no market apart from the world. Games obviously have regional variations but normally a game is released to the world.

Which means, the Europeans obviously have the option to just cater to just cater to regional tastes. And using your example, they could just make a reasonable shooter and be almost garunteed "ret...

I am surprised that Europeans aren't put into the "only care about money" category as well. The market is tough here as well and a good work force is expensive so at the end of the day, Europeans can't really afford to take risks either.

do gamers have to have a "passion" in gaming to enjoy games? I see your point; you are saying that because more casual gamers are playing games, games are becoming more casual. But I think there is a third category of gamers which I probably fall into.

I love to play games, good games, ones with cinematic qualities and depth of play. But I don't do it for endless hours every week. I would say that I play for about 6 or 7 hrs a week maximum but it doesn't mean that I w...
