service they provide. I haven't had any problem with them at all. I first went for the budget option and went with Tesco's.... big mistake.

They couldn't even connect me up properly, they said the problem was at my end. In then I decided to go with Virgin (i like the cancel every month option) and they connected me up straight away. Their customer service is quite good as well, I am never on hold for long and going with anyone else wouldn't give faster speeds as I have the fas...

I thought Epic said that UT3 would be out in the America's region for by Christmas but due to the legnthy localisation process wouldn't be out until next year for Europe.

And as this is a UK based article............

I just went on to ThisIsLiving.com and the eu.playstation.com and still couldn't find any ads. Am I being blind?

The people who play Xbox 360 and PS3 are the "real gamers", I mean they are more likely to be the gaming enthusiasts. These are the people that will keep an eye on what is coming out by actively reading magazines or going on the net etc. But Nintendo have catered to a different market, the casual gamer market. These are the people that won't actively research what is coming out because gaming for them is just a casual thing.

Hence, advertising is a *must* to reach the...

But with a PS2, PS3 and a 360 on the desk it just gets a little silly (hence backwards compatibility was a big feature for me).

LOL I just realised, Sony removing BC from the PS3 has actually stopped me getting a 360!! How ludicrous is that?!?!

It is almost as if Gabe newell has done it on purpose. He sees as waste of time and it is as if he is trying to prove it by handing the game over to team that obviously find the ps3 hard to develope for.

See, I think valve as a developement company are good devs. They have so great people working for them. I think the team as a whole wouldn't have any problem learning to code for the PS3 but they obviously have to take their direction from someone who doesn't like the PS3 whic...

I actually did have a controller malfunction. I was playing against a friend of mine and I kept losing, I blamed it on the controller and he laughed in my face.

Although the laughter soon stopped when we swapped controllers....... ha!

You are probably right, and I like the point about using an HDTV to give a new lease of life to games.

Out of interest, how did you get a 60gb for £280? I didn't see any for that price.

Also does anyone know if they are still updating the firmware for the PS3 to improve BC for the euro 60Gb models? (if this thread is now dead, i will probably ask this again at some point)

I have a back catalogue of games that I want to finish before I get the PS3(yeah it will probably be the PS3). I would have purchased one already but now that the backwards compatibility is gone I will still be playing the PS2 anyway. Also I don't have a high def tv yet.....

Funnily enough, only one of my friends has a PS3. Others either have the 360 or are like me and haven't made the jump yet. The PS3 is still qutie rare in the uk it seems; well it is in my social circle.

Tear of vermilion on the PSP. Generic RPG, but it was fun while it lasted.

When I saw this article I immediately thought of the BFG. It was always fun going through the levels of doom with that as your close personal friend.

Shame it only got number 4. BFG would have been my number one.....

not more people commented on this. I thought it was really interesting read as to the direction computing and processors are heading so I thought I would post it. Seems that if the story isn't flamebait worthy it is not worth talking about.

Anyway, on topic, I don't think quatum computers are going to be around anytime soon. The technology seems like it is hard to nail down into something usable, and will be really expensive for a longtime. Thats why the guy says that he doesn...

I completely agree and tried to say something similar above but it wasn't as well put as your post!

I think for a gamer at this precise moment in time the 360 is the best choice. It has the biggest library of games, great versions of the multiplatform games and some great exclusives.

But will this always be the case? Probably not, but at the moment if you wanted a PS3 I would say that you are still paying for the potential of the machine. That potential is probably going to be huge but at this point in time. The 360 has the edge.

2008 should be a good year fo...

but i have read many articles in the past (mainly last year when specs were first discussed) that says that a lot of the gpu computation can be done on the spu's. There was a time when sony were thinking about not having a gpu at all and that is for this reason. In the end it was deemed that a gpu was necessary to take some of the load from the SPU's but as the gpu in this case was being used essentially as a kind of support feature (although in essence it is the other way around) to the SPU'...

While I completely agree with you comment that women deserve to be treated equally I think the biggest culprit of her not being treated equally is by Ubisoft and what is more she has gone along with it!

Over the years many people are interviewed during a games developement; this could be the head of the company, creative directory, lead programmer etc. but Jade Raymond a producer, has been more than just a team member interviewed about the games developement, she has been a fro...

Now I am not sure where I heard it but I think I read somewhere that Sharp was brining out a 1080p tv. Yep thats it, it was the sharp aquos LC-32GS. So does that mean that they agree that there are some benefits to having a 1080 resolution on screen of just 32"? Or are they just trying to play to the publics lack of understanding and offer a tv that looks better because it has a higher spec even though the benefit might not be noticed?

Reviews don't really matter, if review of a game isn't great and you disagree with then the review is meaningless. If the review says it's not AAA but you play and have a great time doing so then it is definately AAA to you. And that is what is important; games can be great regardless of what reviews say about them.

In my opinion this is one of the best games this year and looking at this forum almost everyone if having a blast playing this game so they seem to agree. Does tha...

no where in that review do they say WHY they game it 8.0 for design. Just would have been nice if they explained themselves a bit.....

if you are someone like me and the MP doesn't really interest you much then renting it for the short but brilliant single player sounds like a good idea.
