True! But that probably still makes the comment that he's a "bad match" correct from a creative directors perspective.
"knew it was this way"
I can't work out how this could be true yet it is. If they knew it to be true what did they think would happen by releasing it?
I've never thought "DEI" (although the way most people use it doesn't match it's real definition) is the problem with games. Good games have continued to be good when they have a diverse cast, and likewise, bad games have continued to be bad. There isn't a credible example I've seen where a diverse cast has been the direct cause of a game being bad.
Excited for the game. Article didn't really say anything.
I see the word "laziness" thrown around a lot but I suspect it almost never applies. What's much more likely is that games have budget and time constraints that had to be adhered to (rightly or wrongly). I think it's fair to critique the decision to release a game before the bugs were ironed out but almost every dev I know takes pride in their work and would love to just keep working on the same thing forever until it's perfect. However, that's not usually their deci...
Maybe it means DLC?
Don't get people started! ;-)
I wish this game was on the PS5. I would buy it / play it then.
I really enjoyed Kena: Bridge of Spirits. Fun pixar style presentation, harder than expected combat, story was ok.
Right, it has got to have a personality as well.
How is a company able produce a quality product (with razor thin margins) where the probably do need to charge more for it but not increase the price of that product?
It sounds like you are saying that it would be better if they kept prices lower but also produce cheaper products and make up their margins that way.
I am also in line with this thinking. It's fairly good game but didn't feel like Final Fantasy at all.
Why not try, wait for it......something new!?!?
I came here to say essentially this. I have been thinking to myself; in what way has the race of Saga or Angrboda hampered their respective games? They are in some of the top games made in the last few years which means the race of the characters had, for all intents and purposes, no detrimental affect on the quality of the games at all. The same can be said regarding Miles Morales in Spiderman.
So if we can all agree that those games are good, why are people pushing the ...
Goodbye Volcano High looks like a cool chill game. I will probably pick that up sometime soon.
Another day, another Call of Duty.
it sounds like people want a troll silencing feature? doesn't have to be the bubble system.
Most games are not open world. However, most big budget games do seem to be these days. Even Uncharted has become, at least, pseudo open world. I kind of miss the linear but controlled experiences and narrative. Especially as I have less time to play games these days so exploring a massive open world is harder to find time to do.

I don't think it really can be a GOW killer. GOW has really represented the pinnacle of single player campaign gaming. It's kind sitting there near the top of what gaming can offer as a medium. To be a "GOW killer" would mean that it would have to significantly redefine what gaming can do/offer. This is too lofty a goal for Hellblade 2.
I don't think turn-based combat is what made Clair Obscur a success. The game was overall great. But, it did show that turn-based could be successfully incorporated into a great game and itself also be great along with the other aspects of the game.
