You are right with your points, a little imagination and a cost effective developement could prove to be a tidy little earner for a dev.

However, I think the average casual gaming wii owner won't buy as many games as the more hardcore 360 or PS3 owner. I am talking throught the life of the entire console.

An example of the "average casual gamer" which the Wii has managed to reach is my female housemate. She hasn't ever owned a console before but she bou...

The question is will the wii continue to make the gains it already has? Or will we see the "gimmick" factor kick in and people find that they become bored of their wii? This is the kind of decision a dev has to make. Today, the Wii looks strong but the devs can't really look at todays figure to make a platform choice as the dev time means the game will be realeased a couple of years down the line.

Taking this point of view I think the PS3 still has a lot of ground to...

Another massive hamperer for UK broadband is contention. The contention ratio for the average service is 50:1 maybe higher for some extra budget services. These services rely on people using their service at different times however this always fulls short with people regularly leaving there computers running to download while they are away. There are other services with a 20:1 ratio but more premium prices come with these.

I think one of the intended transportation mechanisms f...

What is wrong with asking others for information? I am sure nobody above minded answering.

The beauty with asking others is that not only do you get the information but you can also get their thoughts and opinions on it as well which is always interesting to read. Hence the invention of comment sections.......

Is that a gripe at the PS3?

See, I wonder if Microsoft used an HD-DVD player as their main drive in the 360 the outcome of this format where would be different to what it is today? Think of all those extra people who would have bought HD-DVD movies.

Of course, I am assuming that they would still have been able to bring the xbox out at the same time.

I think you can say anything you want about any console you want (within reason) just do it in an informative, intelligent and dare I use another I, interesting way.

Everyone loves a well argued point! Argued points don't have to mean fanboyism.......

It's the fact that people will only watch the "good" bits and not really care about the wii (why would they) is what makes the clip completely unconnected to gaming.

The wii is just another/new excuse for her to be bouncing around. Which is what these clips are about, great curvy women bouncing around for some reason or another.

Nothing wrong with it but it should either be left to other sites or come with a good warning.

To have the b/c with the dual shock would be the best combo and then I might actually get round to buying the ps3.

the 40gb sku should stay exactly like it is (apart from the price drop) because it would appeal to the slightly more casual gamer. Then you would have the 120gb sku for the more discerning gamer.

I completely agree, they would both sell well.

why would a Konami representative say something which completely contradicts the Kojima production team? Or is it the other way around?

The article says that there is a loss of detail between the "ingame" shots and their CGI counterparts. Could this loss of detail not just be attributed to the fact that the "ingame" shots are actually just lower quality pictures than the CGI pictures and not because they are the in-game engine? Just a point to reason that these might not be in-game shots.

I love the fact that we are at a graphical stage now where we can actually debate whether picturs are in...

Although they haven't said it I think it is only a matter of time before they stop manufacturing and selling the PS2. I think this will coincidently (or not conincidently as the case may be) be timed with the announcement that backwards compatibility will make a return.

BC is an important feature for me and unfortunately I didn't get a 60Gb model so I think I will wait for the BC PS3 when it returns......*fingers crossed*

Can we really disaprove an article just because we don't agree with the predictions?

Although signs do point to the MGS prediction being completely wrong it is still a valid prediction because MGS isn't out yet.

I don't know much about purposeful blurring on promo disks but one thing I did see that I thought made blu-ray a little redundant was the abilities of a good up-scaler.

I compared the picture of an upscaled dvd (mine) to a blu-ray version (my friends)of the same movie and although I thought the blu-ray version was better I didn't think the improvement was that amazing. Put it this way, I think the marketing people are going to have a tough job convincing people that blu-ray is...

I think the most blood you will see in the movie will be the odd cut suffered by the hero. Most of the enimies, as you say, will have sand blood and will just fizz away when cut by the hero.

The added advantage for them to make it have mass market appeal is the mechandise. Figures and toys etc can make a tidy profit by themselves but if the movie wasn't made to be seen by kids that they would lose all of this.

Dude, I kind of agree with your original points but obviously some don't. if you don't like what somebody has written then do one of two things.
1. ignore them
2. Argue your point intelligently.
But try not to be so offensive. Name calling and put downs never get your point across and if anything just weakens how much credit people give you.

Anyway, just trying to give some friendly advice from one UK'er to another (and don't worry I haven't de-bubbled you ...
