Man, have you ever seen puddle of water when the sun has come back out after a rainstorm?
for a render don't they create the 3d models first just like this and then get the computer to actually create the final movie at a later stage?
Does someone else know more about this?
I don't want to burst peoples bubbles but I am not convinced this is a representation of the realtime in-game graphics.
is this just the trailer for final fantasy versus XIII that was out last week and nothing to do with final fantasy XIII at all?
That you mentioned that game as your stupidly violent example game and not grand theft auto?
This is what I would call a "defferentiator feature" in the same way the DVD player in the ps2 was. It is these kind of cool features that really make a system for me. It says "although you have a blu-ray player available we can still keep your dvd collection current and up-to-date.
Hopefully more cool things like this will be added in due course.........
Most people seem to be of the opinion that majority opinions rule so I will use the same logic.
Have you not read what IGN or Kotaku or anywhere really? Motorstorm is probably the one game that actualy holds its own in the playstation world. Just like no one/site can really say a bad word about gears of war it seems no site can say a bad word about motor storm.
Which is why you probably used it in your post, just to cause a big reaction.
In that ...
Although I am not sure I would be so kind on the online side of things.
Story-wise, I never quite understood why all the worlds you visit thoughout the games were always empty. They always talked of great civilisations and yet there was never anyone to be seen.
Strange...........
i dont understand how the logic is wrong?
Admitted I really haven't managed to read all the comments here so if I make a point that someone else has already made please excuse.
It definately comes down to personal preference. For example, for me the story is a big factor in a game so the fact Resistance scores well here is a big plus in my little world. The b-movie dialogue and direction in GOW would really annoy the hell out of me. I don't think it would even pull off the budget cheesy b-movie horror feel that Residen...
I think that this is actually quite good of sony, I mean, them replacing the controller if the battery dies is expected, but I am glad that are going to provide service for it.
it sounds like a big project for only 8 people...there must be a lot of outsourcing for some of the work.
Well, I pray to the gaming god that that this isn't true, I also pray for the souls of sony if they release games at this price, because if they do then they will surely go to gaming hell for which there can be no return.
Thats almost $150 US dollars!!!
as far as hardware is concerned doesn't microsofts developement process basically involve them going to intel and asking them what will be their latest chip in three or four years time, going to nvidia (or maybe some other graphics firm) and doing the same regarding their latest chip and then just piecing them together? They don't really develope anything themselves.
There was a PS3 literally 10 minutes down the road from me. I didn't know the Magazine was based in bath.
But does any one else think that it is strange that we are getting these kind of reports from a british mag as apposed to an american or japanese one when we are get the console later?
Just a thought........
Have to say that I think it is good that Sony seem to have put a lot of effort into this engine, then worked with codemasters so that they could tailor it for their needs all in the knowledge that it was going to be used for cross platform developement.
Thats a really realistic outlook to have on modern game developement.
everyone is going to buy one (unless of course you borrow your friends or something) so it would be pretty unfair of sony to rape us just for using the backwards compatibility feature of the system.
You rarely hear about price cuts in europe. No analyst is saying "because of the delayed launch europeans will be able to enjoy the PS3 at a reduced cost".
Maybe I am just dreaming that that will happen.
I remember when Resident Evil 2 first came out on the PS1 and it was sold at £50. So this is not a completely surprising price point.
Still at the current rate of conversion that is almost $94 a game, fairly pricey.
When I click on the link in the article I was just displayed a picture of a PS3 and it isn't even a recent picture!!! Does this work for anyone else or is it that I am being blind and the link is staring me in the face?
But i am a bit suspicious as to why we are seeing these pictures in a blog rather than some official source or games site. If the improvements between previous shots and this are that dramatic I would have thought that this would have come from somewhere other than some forum.
On saying that though, I do think this looks good, some people seem to be comparing the mud to REAL mud which in itself must be a testement to how good the mud looks (just an example of one aspect of the...
