I sincerely hope that that is not true. It would be a mistake for Sony to do that but the signs do indicate that you may be right......
Is designing a game for the 360 and then expecting a port will be as good. Especially now, this far into ps3's life, when other devs have tried this and blatantly failed. Why would devs still do this and not learn from past failures? It doesn't make sense even from a business perspective because a crappy port never really sales.
I will have a go at replying to you but before I am branded I just want say that I think I'm more of a PS3 fan and don't own a 360.
You seem to have ignored the valid points above regarding development time and money. It has been stated many times that the 360 is an easier and more familiar (because of PC developement) to develop for. So for these companies developing games for the 360 is cheaper and yet can still have desired results. The longer a game is in development the more...
But my list out of the ones I have played is:
1. FF VII
2. FF X
3. FF VIII - Not sure why people don't like this, I thought it was great.
4. FF IX
5. FF VI
6. FF III -
7. FF XII - The presentation was good but the story had zero depth.
8. FF X-2
I like the textures in the scenery; I know this should be standard stuff now but I like the way that no surface is just a flat texture. They all have some bump mapping applied to them.
In fact I would probably go as far to say that the scenery looks better than lara, who still looks a little flat (texture wise).
SCEE will take note and bring out an equivalent package for the Europeans? One can only dream.
I am unsure about this.
I bought FFIII but I found it a bit dry to play through. I am sure it is faithful to the original in that respect but it just meant that the game become a little dull.
I wonder if this will be the same?
On the Mega Drive/Genesis was the ultimate version. Yes later releases had more but I haven't yet found them better.
I remember some classic matchs on that with the 4-way adapter.
then why do they not sell it to an entire region?
I guess Sony don't consider the 80Gb model as important as the 40Gb otherwise they would provide it everywhere right?
Have they lost sales in Europe for not providing the 80Gb model or equivalent?
From my personal point of view I would say that they have lost potential sales by simply not providing the choice the consumers. The more choice they provide the more they will cater for everyone's tastes.
A game based on movie based on a game is only created because thats the standard list of things to with a big movie.
Trailers: Check
Action Figures: Check
Game on as many platforms as possible: Check
Fast Food promotion: check
It's right there in the list so has to be done whether it's stupid or not.
out of all of those people, even Angelina Jolie, Robin Shou was the closet match to a roll I think anyone could have envisioned. The portrayal was even how I thought it should have been.
I think he would say that we don't have the vision or the perspective to see the games industry like he does.
But with that in mind, I think that he has missed something. I think the single player is more than just an aspect of a game. It provides a way for every gamer to have their own unique experience of a game. The game then becomes more personal.
It is these personal experiences that gamers will have the fondest memories of in years to come. FFVII being a pr...
I often think that music is over looked in games, less so nowadays but still somewhat.
It goes without saying that a game without good music never creates the quality or the immersion for the gamer. I love how scores a becomming "bigger". Longer tracks without repetition, bigger sounds, more instruments with a lot more variation of texture to really take the gamer through as many emotions as possible.
These are some of the aspects I love the most abo...
I know there are some fans of the series but in reality do people think that Silent Hill still has the "charm" of the earlier days? Or are they just spitting out new iterations with nothing really new or novel in them? The Room and Origins seemed to be missing something....
I for one do like the series but i am not sure this recent effort won't be just the same thing with prettier graphics.
I don't have a ps3 yet but if this SKU came out in europe I would get it.
Not only do we not have a 60Gb or 80Gb SKU we still don't have the Dual Shock controller. I probably won't get a PS3 until we have a an SKU with these things.
Ok thats enough of my one man protest.
I couldn't have put it better myself.
It's like they almost don't understand that Europeans DO have visibilty of the rest of the world. So instead of bringing the stuff that we want from the other regions to Europe, they spend their time stopping us importing.
Crazy.
the marketing photo in the article shows that her popularity wasn't a side effect but a purposefully created hype.
I think they have already anounced, or at least shown the tech demo for getaway. I remember them showing things like crown interaction etc.
Plus, are games like Getaway really noted for their "immersion and story telling" as quoted from the article?
But I am not sure how much quick it will actually be. Mainly due to the developers goals of enhancing the engine. If they were going to use the exact same engine with minimal tweaks then yes developement time would be relatively quick. However, Naughty dog has stated in a few of their interviews the amount of enhancement we can expect to see between generations of their engine. To attain their goals I would expect this to take a large amount of time. They earliest we can expect to see this is...
the grim reaper is looming for this title surely.
I'm joking of course, even sony wouldn't be that stupid..........would they?
