Great review that gets me even more to purchase it (once I have all of my ducks in a row) :). It seems out of place for your 'Down' to be aimed at what some critics think of the game. You do state some of them overemphasize a core element of the game, but perhaps their experience with others was different. You're not really required to put a 'Down', since you gave it a 9 score anyway (imo).

*Edit: "I didn't hit disagree btw" is what I was trying to say in that first reply edit. Sorry

I'll go with Warper :D. Cat should award me with 2 additional entries for my sweet Shins av.

I don't have anything to say about ME3 atm, since my shipment is en route atm. I'll discuss my problems with ME2 in depth in that review, which should be posted soon enough. I think you'll be interested to read what I have to say about the changes. They're not exactly the "black and white" stances other RPG purists say about it.

Edit: I'm hit the agree or disagree button btw :P

I'm only an hour into the game, and I really enjoy some of the novel concepts. I fear I'm going to grow tired of standoffs towards the end of the game.

Unfortunately, I think you will need a Kinect to play the game. I think it's the same case for the hybrid Steel Battalion. You're right though, the transalation is kind of muddled because consumers are being thrown 3 different phrases: Kinect only, Kinect/controller hybrid, and "Better with Kinect" (the last one only being optional).

I think MS only showed the Kinect part of Ryse's E3 presentation as "target gameplay", like Kinect Star Wars...

Don't let the E3 presentation fool you, Ryse is planning on being a Kinect/controller hybrid.

Hope everyone enjoyed the review. Feel free to leave leave any remarks in the comment section below, or PM me. Phwe...glad to be finished after writing between this and other papers :P.

I think this is my first 2,000+ word n4g review! :D

When is a new ip's sales figures considered "impressive" after 2 years iyo? 3 million sales? 4 million sales?

You lost me at produce a solid quality title tbh. It's safe to say anyone who has played their games knows there's a feeling that they're rushed. That doesn't mean they're not quality titles. They are one of the few RPG developers that seem to be meticulous about their plots and dialouge choices.

I'm not sure where the majority of n4g stands on the issue (feel free to reply), but I've heard many Fallout 1+2 fans state that New Vegas is better ...

I guess I'm with the other posters in questioning whether the term "innovate" would be the right word for Apple's influence. They've certainly added another level of competition to smaller indie titles (which is great) and made cell phones a fairly relevant gaming platform, but I'm not sure if there's praise to be given beyond that.

Well said, Frankfurt. We all have opinions on what can be defined as "art", and Ebert's claim was actually supported by a well-framed argument. You might say "He's a ****ing film critic!", but that doesn't mean he's unaware of the average release.

"The puzzles practically solve themselves, and you can play more than half the game with just one hand. I was immersed in the world of Journey itself, but found myself almost bored at the interaction with the gameplay."

Reading the description posted and context of the review should give you enough insight.

"$3 for a slightly modified SP campaign map doesn't do it for me, either."

That should be taken in a case-by-case basis, rather than a generalization, like you're doing.

Expansion packs for $10-$20? How can you expect any publisher to go for something of that magnitude at a smaller price than what they used to cost? It's even more preposterous to think that way when you're talking about a 100-man team tackling a new expansion p...

Never thought of it that way. That could have disasterous results if publishers know this.

Plan to pick this up eventually :).

The only problem I have is the black/white persona posters take on when it comes to determining what "Over-priced content" really is. Granted, CoD map packs from MW2 and Black Ops came in fives, and cost $15. But when you divide that up, you are getting more "value" (for the sake of the argument, let's not dive into quality of maps) with that deal then the typical 3 maps/$10 packs that came before it.

Personally, I liked DLC in its purest form, but...

Mr NYC_Gamer,

You seem to have an odd taste in games
Especially if you find D.P. to be lame.

...So says Mr. Stewart.

5217d ago 5 agree2 disagreeView comment

Certainly wise not to do that, but this game seems to have reviews scores almost across the entire 1-10 review spectrum: highest is a 10 on meta, while the lowest is a 4 (atm). I think this is a case where you have to be familiar with the reviewer's tastes in order to see whether or not this is worth the full $15.
