"Look at the ICO Collection..."
There's something about this argument that makes reviewing collections so...dicey and unnecessary imo. The difference I would find in the ICO Collection compared to these other ones is sales in general. When looking at the 15 weeks of work it only took for the GoW Collection, it seems likes a cheap way to reskin something that was already bought by quite a few PS2 owners already. ICO/SotC didn't exactly capture that same ...
The 360's been the best selling UK console since the Kinect was released. If you would've narrowed your statement down to 'Not many in Japan' instead of "Nobody outside of the U.S." then someone might actually consider having a serious conversation with you.
@rob6021
Nothing you stated is actually an argument against my point. What is the point of weighing their responsibility if we're only to look at their review scores, look at metacritic average, then deem if they're biased or not?
This is the same message I've been delivering since I've been on here. You only have a right to call fault against a reviewer if it's in the CONTEXT OF THE REVIEW (ex. IGN's Dead Space 2 review was rid...
"Who conditioned you to think that a game that scores 5/10 is worth playing?"
That's the entire point, no one's forcing a definition of a 5/10 on YOU. That's solely up to somone's discretion to determined what a numerical value means.
The catch: THE SAME GOES FOR SITES!
Edge, like any other site, is allowed to state THEIR personal 'review manifesto' (there's a better word for it) to explain the sit...
The one writer who's mainly a console gamer (in vid) isn't giving enough to credit to the likes of Obsidian's RPGs. I've heard, and know from KOTOR 2, their choices tend to be more dymanic than critics will let them on to be.
My review would say heck no to that idea. At the same time, it's not like the other 2011 shooters I've played are as good as critics lead us to believe (BF3, MW3, R3, Brink).
"No dlc = less game."
Your mindset is just as delusional.
"Hopefully no DLC = Complete and full of quality game from the start."
So...we should be led to believe every game with planned DLC for the future means the 'vanilla' game isn't complete? I'm not exactly sure who on here believes GTA4 WASN'T a complete game.
No problem. Glad to hear posters enjoyed it :).
Although I've found some of his examinations spot on in the past, I feel these new videos about piracy are just creating another 'gray area' in a world that's afraid to admit when things are black and white. Piracy may not be the definition of theft, but it is STILL STEALING. You've deprived someone of their just due (by MSRP standards) while still 'owning' the product itself.
I believe this ideal to "only don't pirate from those who n...
I've almost always approved the blogs but never imagined his/her intentions were to spam the blog with traffic. They may be short, but I respect the notion of a gamer covering their gaming experiences for the whole year.
Was a matter of time until the streak ended. I extend my hand to Yoshidiro's superfluous amount of quality user reviews for the month of January. I advise any posters that are interested to click on Yosh's character profile to view all of his other ones in case you missed them.
Hope you guys enjoy what I have in store for Feb.-which will be more than Jan. now that I'm used to the school cycle :).
"Nostalgia Boner"?
...I don't know how to respond to that.
Kind of ironic for you to say that when considering every, or almost every, new IP-this gen-from Double Fine has been on the Xbox 360.
"- no DLC"
Mistake: No one should be complaining about something that further enhances an experience like DLC can. It's the obstrusive locked-content on discs and excessive charging that should be attacked (which you don't have to pay for in the first place). As a whole, the idea of DLC shouldn't be attacked because of greedy publishers (surprise! they found a way to make more money!)

So...some of you are angry at an indie developer that copies Minecraft's idea, sells that "blatant copy" for $1, and makes a fortune from said discounted price? Should we be expecting every new indie developer to make their own genre now?
"I know it's not all about the graphics, but really...."
"SD in 2010 should be illegal"
I decided to split up your post in order to help you understand why this is a contradiction.
"Currently reviewers just throw 9s and 10s at any alright game therefore devaluing the scores. If you make 9s and 10s rare then you make them meaningful, special and people will pay attention to them."
You're probably N4G's poster of the day! I absolutely agree with that interpretation. Although some may not go as far as I do, I consider 6 and up to be at least 'above average', therefore, possibly worth your time. I enjoy using the system similar...
"...I think 8/10 as GOTY worthy..."
Excellent way of thinking :D. I hate to see a term like "Editor's Choice" is always confined to 9+ games on most review sites. There are a ton of 7 and 8 games I'd recommend to others before certain 9 rated games because the "heart" of the game is truly impressive, though riddled with more flaws that can't be ignored.
Pretty much this. I'm not sure how other MMOs did 2 months after launch, but thus far the endgame looks solid:
- 1 PVP Warzone
- 8 Hard Mode fps (4 of which are from normal 50 flashpoints)
- 2 Operations (with Normal and Hard Mode)
- 3 Normal PVP locales (Huttball, Ald., Void)
- 3 different tiers of endgame armor (3 PVP, 3 Norm)
I haven't played many MMOs in my day, but that seems like a pretty good list for th...
