Do you mean Lost Planet Colonies (essentially 1.5) and 2, or are you counting the first one? I thought Lost Planet 1 was a fine TPS for a 2006 game.

You should be happy the words "Battlefront 3" and "Spark Unlimited" are not in the same sentence, as they were rumored to be. This is a great chance for the studio to show they've improved by working on a series we're mostly familiar with yet also remember how 2 failed to live up to expectations (critically and commercially).

I'm sorry, I meant to say "more paragraphs" :)

"All we can hope for now is a few Commander Shepard references in Bioware's upcoming Mass Effect-like creations."

You'll get to play the grandpa voiced by Buzz Aldrin in the next Mass Effect games :P.

I may have-surprisingly-liked ME3 the least, but it's still a fine game. The problems I'm running into is just how there seems to ONLY be story, shooting, story, and more shooting without even simple things like hacking terminals or ha...

Interesting list. It's certainly sad to see the general sentiment from fans tell me just how lacking this generation is when it comes to JRPGs. Hopefully it'll pick up soon.

"Super Effective Sales Trailer"

Indeed.

Great detective work :). *raises glass* Here's to more developers screwing up (accidental or not) bad business practices in the future.

". . .reviews are objective after all."

Did you mean subjective?

I agree with your stance though. "Professional" gamer reviewers may have a better knowledge of the industry than the avg. consumer, but they all still have their own preconceived notions, biases, etc. about what makes a good game. Even worse, the more popular places get review copies; because of that, they can tend to forget to ask themselves if it's worth $40/$50/$60...

Basically this.

There's no reason for Ubi not to dive into an honest portrayal of both sides during this time period either.

Wow, I figured she was around much longer than that.

That's an interesting question. I believe it would be a great peer-reviewing tool to show whether or not newer reviewers/bloggers are on the right track. It could also act as a great way for those new reviewers/bloggers to ask the nominees for advice.

I could see the downside of feeling burned for falling short of the number 1 spot, but then again...I think everyone knows there's a silver and bronze medal-or ribbon-in every race.

From the March Contest Details:

". . .the members with a TOP TEN news ranking in March will be entered to win a prize!
Submit news and get a top 10 News ranking in March and you can win up to three games! Winners chosen at random."

They're pulling the top 10 news posts out of a hat instead of a monthly point tally.

Congrats to all March winners. May ye feast on victory...Baron Deathmark? (<TOR joke)

Jurat definitely did a great job of explaining Journey (which I still need to grab). I hope RobotGeeker's 'Dear Esther' grabbed some attention as well. The reason I mentioned that one is because of how agreeable his reasoning is, despite how immensely I disagree with the score; he awarded it a 9.0 while I'm more in the 4 or 5 region (which I'll get around to explaini...

They just attempted to garner sympathy by showing previously-withheld letters from "pro-family, anti-gay letters" (quoted from another article) coincidentally (/s) right after they won the Worst American Company Award.

How can anyone not be revolted by that tactic?

There's something tantalizing about seeing a cat with sunglasses in that little bubble on n4g's main page.

Strangely enough, I've always found MGS3 to be the weakest of the main numbered entries. Not that it wasn't a great game, just a victim of lagging behind in gameplay. That wasn't really the team's fault either; I don't think anyone expected so many awesome stealth titles between 2 and 3's release-if I recall correctly, 2 Splinter Cells...

In it's current stage, the ME3 ending is bad, not disrespectful. It's a different case altogether when considering possible the ending DLC on the way(tbf, we don't know what that is yet).

"Harley Quinn's Voice"

While I can't stand the pitch either, I think it was the right decision to infuse her persona with that level of campiness. Although I haven't read the first comics in which she's introduced, I've always imagined her being that way.

Enjoyable read btw.

Cat's just preparing for when you win. Once that happens, it will go back to normal.

I consider this a top 5 list because #6 doesn't apply to me.

*Waits to see disagree counter a few days later* :P

I certainly enjoyed reading it. It's a shame how often most n4g users need to be reminded of a few things on the list.
