Next gen launch games can be a mixed bag however as I learn more about the lore I am getting more interested in the game, I just hope all the lore translates into the actual game.
Would have dived into cyberpunk on the 19th but I guess it will be this.
Farewell loading screens, until solid state storage becomes slow.
It might be good for bigger games too lest we forget games like Dishonoured 2 and Prey 2 under performed at retail.
The backlash Halo received is pretty conclusive proof that bigger games regardless off whether they are on Game Pass need to deliver. A big AAA game like Halo being mid was never going to be acceptable under any circumstance but smaller games may get a pass because they on Game Pass but sometimes even they don't.
Doom also has that grotesque artstyle just without the sexual undertones.
The game seems more like System Shock than Bioshock but the comparison to Bioshock is not entirely misplaced as they share the same DNA.
Bioshock itself has survival horror elements and was structured more like a survival horror game until Infinite turned the game into a dumb shooter.
The lack of notable characters, cutscenes or dialogue is by no means an indicati...

Flight sim in august, Ori 2 early in the year and crusader kings 3 most recently are all on or over 90 on metacritic.
Maybe if MS make better games in the future, Sony can be worried. So far they have nothing to worry about as people have no problem paying for Sony's AAA games because they are just that better than the competition. Sony have produced S tier games this generation so if mediocrity continues to come out of Xbox games studios people will be even more justified in spending the money to play better games.
The development of both games probably overlapped a bit too much for ff xvi to have taken the battle system.
I hope they can make games that are as good as the other 2. They have the talent but only MS can turn what should be a victory into embarrassing defeat.
In hindsight Mattrick was worse for Xbox, he utterly failed to set Xbox up to compete with Sony this generation throughout the last one. Mattrick built a house of cards and it all came crashing down.
Spencer's time as the head of Xbox has mostly been a waste but he has at least committed more resources to first party development.
MS had to pay Square Enix for Tomb Raider because the Xbox lacked an action Adventure franchise like Uncharted and Xbox the...
The Medium is the only game I can find that will release on the Series X near or at launch. Scorn, Warhammer:Dark Tide and Stalker 2 are slated for 2021. I don't think these games will quite have the next gen polish people are expecting given the type of dev teams working on them.
Microsoft's approach to this console launch is truly bizarre.
I'm not sure I get what you are saying, if Microsoft release 5 AAA games over a year surely the cost of developing the games would have been spread over the course of their respective development durations? unless they all 5 games took a year to make how you could MS possibly spend 250m a year? Even games that release yearly have dev cycles longer than a year.
Raytraced GI will at least make the lighting less flat but MS have surely embarrassed themselves.
The 2018 slip space demo looked quite a bit better than what they showed.
So, 343 are embarking on a ten year journey...

Some games are £60 but very few, most are either £50 or £55. If you look on GAME.co.uk for example you will see the vast majority of upcoming games like Cyberpunk 2077, Avengers A day, Fifa 21 and Crash bandicoot 4 are either £50 or £55. In fact Avengers A day and even CyberPunk 2077 are available to pre order from GAME for £50.
They might not increase by £10 because $10 =/= £10. A company can decide to b...
Plenty of brand new games are already £55 so I dont think games will increase in price that much if at all. All the games that don't charge £55 now probably will in the future.
A $70 game would not cost £70. Most AAA games are either 50 or 55 pounds so an increase to 70 would be more than $10.
All assasins creed games follow pretty much the same formula. You gather some intel about your target then you kill your target until you get to the head honcho.
There has arguably never really been much tact to how you can kill your targets and lots of the social stealth elements in prior games ended up being poorly utilised or not expanded upon at all.
At least these new titles function very well as open world action adventure games. Perhaps having nail...
The story is not just light, it seems like some of it has been ripped out of the game. At the start there are 2 characters that are with you that even converse with that just disappear until one of them shows up again during the penultimate boss fight.
Something must have gone wrong during development as there are so many design issues like this. In terms of graphics the game does do well and the combat is decent but everything else around it is just horrible.
