How about starting with more blood vials/ estus flasks, having less enemies around or rearranging the position of existing enemies to perhaps make it easier for players to engage with enemies one by one. The point is there are several ways to balance the game for other difficulty levels that do not resort to just damage scaling.

If an easy mode were just to scale damage I'm not sure how this would degrade the game as whole, a good soulslike game will likely have a well...

Maybe an easy mode in this so called hard puzzle game could do things like give the player more hints. This could allow the puzzles to remain technically the same as the ones in hard mode. Everybody wins.

The truth is your ilk think an easy mode degrades the accomplishment of beating a soulslike and the players don't want that accomplishment degraded. Its silly because there would still be a normal mode.

How would having an easy mode change normal mode ?

I think maybe that is the whole bussiness model of a subscription service like Game pass. There are films on netflix i would not in a million years go to the theatre to see but sitting down in your own home or on a long journey presents a different proposition. There are games you probably would not buy for even half the price
but on a subscription it's a different proposition.

Companies have been producing crap for years and charging full price regardless of s...

@Cmv38 Before consoles became a main stay arcade gaming was the defacto way to play games. Granted home video game consoles would eventually disrupt the arcade gaming market but it took a while for this to happen. You also have to think about PC and mobile gaming as these markets stand on their own merits and have historically evolved in their own way and at their own pace.

It's convienient to ignore the myriad of ways in which one can game now days. I know console gam...

I finished it today and it's Crackdown alright however this is also the game;s biggest problem. The game is built the way Crackdown was built in 2007 and by todays standards is not very good.

Without game consoles... console gaming would die , the rest of us will be just fine.

I think too often what you have just articulated is used to maintain the status qou. If it does not matter what gender a person is or what the colour of their skin is then they can just be a white dude/ or woman. In that sense to break the status qou you kinda have to make it important. Couple that with the history a lot of developed nations have with marginalising people based on as you put it immutable characteristics, how can you not understand the need for people to see the very character...

I was able to play the closed alpha and i must say the game has piqued my interest. It has a lot of potential especially to tell its story in a way Destiny has thus far failed to do. The fort Tarsis segments where the view is from a first person perspective have to deliver otherwise I think the story will devolve into short cutscenes and com chatter.

Can't be worse than Destiny 2 though, Key characters are basically gear vendors lol.

82.4% down in the UK and i'm not sure how representative it is of the market as a whole.

I think its safe to assume they will improve certain aspects of the engine like they did this generation however their games just lack the technical prowess seen in other open world games, i think even if they had the best engine in the world they still could'nt make a Wicther, RDR or Horizon.

Well the rationale behind a service like Game Pass is that it's easier to get someone to spend £10 a month than £50 on a one off purchase, the result being you get far more people paying £10 a month than £50 for a single unit and the volume of subs makes up the revenue difference. If we look at it that way encouraging people to play their game's for £10 a month might not be as conterintuitive as it seems.

I hope not, while Arkham Knight was not a bad game, it was clear RockSteady had run out of ideas. Based on the rumors in the article it indeed confirms they have run out ideas.

There are few games that actually simulate fluids properly. The "water physics" you usually get in games ends up being a plane that is subdivied and deformed with some sort of wave pattern and the forces that act on the player like drag and gravity altered slightly to give you the sense that you are swimming. It's then possible to find out where objects intersect the plane so you can do things like create splashes where the player jumps in and out , create ripples as they are mo...

Would'nt resolution be one of the things that contritube to an images' quality as well as stuff like anti aliasing, colour depth, HDR etc.

Windows already has this type of functionality.

There isn't much that Xbox live does that other free software on PC cannot do. On PC paid Xbox live would literally just be a pay wall to play online. Unless Microsoft force every game to be purchasable only through the windows store and accessible only through Live I cannot see them ever placing a fee on it for PC users.
