"Whilst the leap isn’t as big as the one made when moving from the original Uncharted to its brilliant sequel, Naughty Dog has tweaked and refined the third entry in the series to the point where it is quite simply the best looking console game around. Whether it’s the lighting or character models, you’ll constantly be in awe of what your eyes are witnessing as you progress through campaign. At times you’ll leave Drake standing, just so you can pan the camera ar...

It's not counted on Metacritic. In fact, only 1 review out of the 5 or so already posted is Metacritic-counted.

Either way, all reviews have been fantastic and some are even higher than Uncharted 2's!

Holy S*^&! I haven't been blown away by game visuals since God of War III, but that is on another level! Easily this gen's best looking console game if that's what we're getting in just over 2 weeks!

Dark Souls is a separate franchise from Demon's Souls. People seem to be confused about that.

Dark Souls is a spiritual successor, but Demon's Souls is a Sony owned.

If you're right, I can accept that, but then you have no reason to be so defensive either. I just see key differences that tell me this scene may have been updated.

@ Plastica: If anything, your video only helps those that disagree with you. Look closely at the lighting in your video, it's much brighter (and not because of the video quality either). These screens show the character details better, as well as a darker scenery behind the characters.

Wasting your time, I already tried explaining this XD

Even the video they're captured from are a September 2011 video (the older one was from sometime during the Summer). These screens are from the same scene, yes, but are meant to show improvements in the details (like all of the new footage with Drake and Elena at the plane level).

Still, November 1st needs to speed up!

Don't know what to tell you, but these pics have improvements from when this footage was last shown. I'm inclined to believe they're new.

For example, old:

New:

They are, in fact, new. Drake's scarf is missing from these as well as improved textures and lighting. You're usually someone with an eye for updates with Uncharted 3, so it's surprising that you missed it here.

Uncharted 2 won more Game of the Year awards than any other game in history. Obviously, 2 years of dev time didn't hold it back.

OT: Since Uncharted titles have always been 9-11 hr journeys for me, this will be no different. Couple in the mulitplayer/co-op modes and the pack is complete, just like it's predecessor!

Why, Uncharted 2 was an 11-13 hr game (depending on how you played through it). There was nothing wrong with it's length.

OT: I can believe him (although I jumped on the Uncharted bandwagon with Drake's Fortune and haven't looked back). One of the greatest bits of entertainment to ever grace human existence! November 1st, roll on!

And despite this "deadness", Gran Turismo will continue to have the stronger brand name and higher (by far) fanbase.

It's a shame that N4G approves some of the material that it does, but then again, anything to get people talking gets hits. So I see how it happens. :)

I wasn't aware that frames per second were graphics. Call of Duty runs at 60fps, does it look better than Battlefield 3 or Crysis? Think about it.

Anyway, to the actual topic, the game Uncharted 3 is looking, unsurprisingly, to be another contender for best graphics on consoles!

And comments about the "competition" - notice how Yamauchi never bashes Forza or any other racer, yet Turn 10 bashes GT more often than not? That's because Yamauchi is a true car enthusiast, and racers have all said GT is the best way to go for driving simulation; that nobody does it like it. The power of the Gran Turismo name is something Forza cannot mimic, certain franchises just have that.

It's very much like Halo vs Killzone/Resistance. As great as Resi...

That's why I can't give this game "best looking" on consoles (or on any device, really). It's got that texture issue and even when some of the textures are loaded, they are muddy and flat. I would have preferred a 30fps game if it didn't sacrifice detail. It's a shame too, the gunplay is fun, the enemies animate well, and the overall picture is beautiful. It's just the textures that really mar the experience.

Rushed them to release the game? GT5 took 5-6 years as is. They had a good amount of time, but in this day and age, you can continue to support your product through updates. Since they're free, there shouldn't be a single complaint.

It's rare that a company supports their product in this fashion. Polyphony could have just released a GT6 and called it a day, but they didn't. I fully support that!

So not as technically sound as Killzone 3, yet has an artistry to trump it! Still, I knew RAGE would be among the most technically and graphically superior titles out there and it's good to know I wasn't wrong!

How exactly can you prove that? I had that suspicion too (after seeing Lens of Truth's screenshot comparison), but I don't know for sure.

According to these screens, the PS3 version has stronger contrast and a sharper image in certain pics, but with a bit more jaggies. This is where DigitalFoundry will make their biggest impact for me!

(Strategy Informer) isn't a low name site (they're counted by Metacritic in fact). Still, I'm sure I'll enjoy the game, but everyone isn't going to give it 8s and 9s.
