Not only were the faces much crisper in the final build, they had more applied texture mapping and SSAO as well (as well as environmental lighting enhancements).
It's evident in the screenshots (but what's really ironic, some of the screens ARE from the E3 build - telling me your comment is even more misinformed than meets the eye).
My favorite game of all time! I know it wasn't perfect, but a 9 was justified! A once in a lifetime experience!
Your expectations aren't the same as every one else's. So just because it gets 10s and YOU don't agree with it doesn't mean somebody else doesn't think it deserves it.
I personally don't give anything a 10/10, but then again, Uncharted 3 is very much worthy of high praise from what I played. All a matter of perspective.
But for many, including myself, Uncharted 3 WAS miles ahead of Uncharted 2. Just because a sequel is "better" than a predecessor, doesn't always mean a higher Meta anyway. I mean, would most people argue that Gears of War 2 is better than 3, probably not.
Indeed. I'm using the PlayStation 3D Display and have, so far, found Killzone 3's 3D to be one of the best (mind you, the only other title I've fully seen in 3D is Uncharted 3). While Uncharted 3's was beautiful, Killzone 3's was more powerful, making me feel like I was truly there (giving me some eye strain in the process, lol).
All-in-all, I disagree with that one.
I own it, have since Nov 13, so it's definitely a UK-exclusive delay as of now.
No, but then again, I wouldn't have called Xbox gamers that to begin with. If were to ask is that particular fanbase more prone to buy/prefer shooters, I would say yes. Not that I see an issue though.
We could argue that, but that's not the subject matter, thus it's irrelevant. This point in time, the 360 isn't the market leader, in any region, rendering not only the title misleading, but much of the the article false.
Never mind the fact that the Xbox 360 is in 3rd place in multiple regions (EMEAA & JP), while only being ahead of the PS3 in America, yet STILL not the market leader there either. The overall winner is the Wii, period dot, with the PS3 possibly crossing the 2nd place mark before the gen is over (staying in 3rd in the Americas, however).
Not to take anything from the 360 or Microsoft's brand, they've come a long way, but to claim the numbers speak the real truth, ...
It really isn't as bad as you say, and it certainly isn't unplayable. For the record, I have and just completed, again, both Uncharted 1 & 2 within the past 2 months and still wouldn't call the controls unplayable in Uncharted 3. They are just slower, weighted, which can be adjusted, for the most part. But saying it's unplayable is just not true.
I'm on the campaign right this very second, as I type, and it's anything but unplayable. I can see where some of the minor complaints come from, though as I said - I've had no trouble, but "unplayable"....nah.
I didn't really have any aiming issues, I just want them to add the cut-scenes to the Bonus section. One of the best things about the Uncharted franchise are it's cut-scenes, and Uncharted 3's, at least for me, are the greatest in the series, if not on the PS3 altogether (barring a few top notch one's from the first two, MGS4, & Heavy Rain).
Fantastic! Just waiting to pick up my pre-ordered copy on Tuesday!
@ coolbeans: Since you obviously failed to understand my comment, have a look at the response I give to poopface. And I didn't say Uncharted 3 was the first case of reviewer inconsistency, I said it was the worst I've seen.
@ poopface: A more fair approach, but I'm not concerned with Metacritic, but the site that rated it (if a 50 is actually what they meant). But even then, I have no qualms with the viewer's opinions, just that the numeric scores aren't c...
Oops. Double
So this beat Skyrim on Yahoo? A tad surprised but it just raises the case further that the race to GOTY continues to be hard fought!
Amen to that. I think Uncharted 3 is one of the worst cases of reviewer inconsistency. From a 50 to 75s and then many 100s. That just doesn't make sense.
I wouldn't give him the energy, he's spammed that in almost all recent Uncharted 3 reviews/articles. I think the bubbles speak for themselves. :D
@foryouonly: Most reviews have said that about UC3's visuals. At this point, it seems to be the natural order of things - for 2012 and beyond, graphically, Uncharted 3 is the game to beat!
Cool. I'll update if need be!
Prerendered on the engine, which means they're still running on the hardware (unlike CG). As you said, very good, certainly ahead of what most people have produced on the PS3 thus far.
