Add Uncharted 3 to that list, as it is one too (going off Spike TV). And from most accounts (reviews/gamers) Uncharted 3 is every bit a GOTY contender as any of the games on the list.
As do I, especially since a 10 doesn't mean the game is flawless.
So an 80 for co-op, 90 overall. Not too shabby.
"Graphically the game is not only the best out of the three, it is also the best I’ve seen on any console. How Naughty Dog has done it is anyone’s guess, but they certainly know how to get the best out of the PlayStation 3. From the superb animation, the light that breaks through broken bits of wood and derelict buildings to the fantastic sand effects later in the game, I just can’t fault it".
The only game in 2011 I saw take home this many graphics awards was Killz...
Uncharted has platforming sections, but isn't a platformer. Platformers involve playing the entire game having to get from one platform to the next as the main means of travel.
"The graphics for the game are unsurpassed on any console game to date. To see Nate struggling through a vast sandy desert, forcing himself along a sandy ridge-line with sand ripples flowing down the side. The level of details is breathtaking. Night time in the Rub ‘al Khali desert, with the stars in the sky and the full moon above, is a testament to the hard work and dedication of Naughty Dog Studios to create a game that truly sets the bar graphically for the PlayStation 3".
If all u have to hang on to is Resistance 3, you live in a narrow world. Alan Wake was disappointing for Remedy/Microsoft - yet, it's not only going to have more, but other exclusives sell just fine on the platform.
One exclusive doesn't make an entire library. Why'd you ignore inFAMOUS 2, Killzone 3, Heavy Rain, God of War III, Metal Gear Solid 4, both Uncharted 1 & 2 and so on? Seems like an agenda you have, and it isn't positive.
I've yet to play it fully, but it's still great to see my boys over @ VG giving fair reviews - as usual!
People probably didn't see that comment from Wells, or ignored it. I was one of the lucky ones who DID see it, and from most accounts, Uncharted 3 did it's job.
I haven't played through it completely yet (I'm waiting to hook it up to the PlayStation 3D Display on release day next Sunday), but I'm sure it'll be a blast!
Not sure how GTA IV's scenario is comparable, as many gamers disliked it. Again, from both reviewers/gamers, Uncharted 3 does a lot of things Among Thieves did not. Ergo, I'm taking your opinion with a grain of salt.
Edit: I respect your view, really, just have a feeling I will 90-95% disagree when I see the credits roll.
^ ^ According to most reviews/gamer views, Uncharted 3 is a step UP in every conceivable way. Not saying your opinion is necessarily "wrong", but I'm taking it with a grain of salt.
@ WarStar: For starers, Insomniac was never 1st Party. Second, few PS3 exclusives have "poor" sales. Poor means under performing and the PS3 has very few exclusives that underperformed.
Not sure of exact totals, but it's a lot! I think more than any other game this year, so far.
"The best" is their opinion. So they're not wrong in feeling that way. I don't believe it'll be the best PS3 game I've played either, but I won't deny it's contribution to an, already, fantastic line-up!
Well, perhaps compared to recent SH releases, but definitely not overall. Still, I can't wait for this game, but I doubt, at this point, that it's releasing in 2011 anymore.
You've done this nonsense in a lot of Uncharted articles of late. Give it a rest. And it's ironic that u ask him if he's mad, yet continue to enter Uncharted articles, where it's obviously liked, and try to put it down.
Anyway, a very detailed, well written review!
That's not saying much, obviously, as Uncharted 2 has 105 reviews versus Uncharted 3's 63.
OT: With all the 10/10's I'm expecting a masterpiece! Since the Uncharted series is know to be so powerful, I doubt I'll be disappointed!
Look at the nominees for GOTY on Spike. Tell me which one has a robust multi-player besides Uncharted 3. Seems like your research failed you.
OT: Another praising review!
"Overall, Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception is a must buy for any PS3 owner out there. Delivering the best singleplayer experience of the franchise, visuals that demolish every other game this console generation, and a multiplayer experience that will keep you entertained for months to come, Uncharted 3 is easily my Game of The Year for 2011 and after much self-debating, my Game of This Console Generation. While I would have liked to have known what happened with the two characters and seen...
For Move to be a "total flop", could you explain the expectations then, because something can't flop based on personal opinion.
OT: While I don't own a Kinect, I played a good deal of Move when it released. That said, I wouldn't mind seeing more titles released using the feature, but it's not bad by any means.
