PS3 downloads faster for me, but I would agree that the 360 is better for online software. When it comes to games/hardware/features, however, I still prefer the PS3.
No need to go off-topic though, the PS3 is good on its own, without the need of mentioning other consoles.
VERY well deserved! My GOTY as well!
No. Uncharted 3 won Cheat Code Central's and Batman?Zelda have won others. Skyrim has the most, but it's not a clean sweep (like Uncharted 2 was).
Not seeing what the big deal is in his statement, to be honest. I agree that it's the best game this year (though not this gen), but does that make me (or you) any more correct because of a disagree? Not so.
That's about as comical of statement as I've seen on these boards.
@ Digital raptor: No big deal to me. Humans will always disagree with facts whenever they can, it's just in the nature.
Good to see someone with facts.
The cut-scene was in-engine. I find it interesting that people say it's being "over-hyped", but don't have the facts. Meaning you haven't read many of the articles, or ignored crucial info just to juice up an argument.
Agree 100%. Besides, if people think something is "over-hyped", that's their opinion, and they can/should avoid the topic in question. Meanwhile, everybody else is entitled to the opinion that hyping the game is all good.
Only one I truly don't agree with was best graphics. Uncharted 3 really took it home for me!
Agree 100% my friend.
A very misinformed piece of material here.
Tell that to LBP, Uncharted, Gran Turismo, God of War, & Metal Gear Solid 4. All of which are at or exceed 4 million copies.
It's not really worth mentioning IPs that Microsoft owns, such as Perfect Dark and Crackdown. Furthermore, I'm big on console identity, systems need exclusives, and something like Gears of War helped shape the 360 as a competitor. I would love to see it pushed solely on that platform (I realize Gears of War 1 was also on PC, but did little to nothing to the 360 version's presence).
Alan Wake is a toss up, but with the right marketing next go around, American Night...
What have they won? Their 2nd in the US/UK and are in last place in nearly every other part of the world. They're successful, which is what matters, but they aren't leading in any territory.
OT: Microsoft actually doesn't lack in studios (although they're behind both Nintendo & Sony). They just need to get those guys to work. They know how to support a brand, but they're resting on their laurels, which could prove disastrous down the road.
The Dreamcast ultimately failed because it's games were downloadable online. Plain and simple. 3rd party support is big, yes, but what kept the PlayStation brand going strong was its exclusive content. Not content shared with another device.
The 360 has excellent 3rd party support, no arguments there, but its first party arsenal lacks the punch of Sony's and Nintendo's.
What market is the 360 dominating? Winning a holiday isn't "dominating", especially while it's behind the Wii in the US and behind both consoles in EU & JP. I would agree that the 360 is no slouch when it comes to sales, but it's definitely not dominating anything.
On the talk of games, the most important thing to a console, the 360 isn't lacking. It's just not on the same page as the PS3 anymore in regards to exclusive content.
Ellie isn't Joel's daughter. Read the details at this link and the USA Today link.
To each their own. I felt Uncharted 3's story was far more personal (which I prefer) and the game play was much more refined, not to mention the graphics were a real step forward!
Regardless, The Last Of Us has EVERYONE from Naughty Dog working on it now, so I expect nothing but greatness!
The answer here is quite simple, and relative to why Killzone will never be on Halo's sale levels, because Gran Turismo is the bigger name and the more respected franchise, despite Metacritic scores and ratings. Some real race car drives like Earnhardt Jr & Gordon have even backed up that statement. When it comes to the driving portion, I'm not talking the entire package, on console, nobody does it like Polyphony Digital with Gran Turismo.
It seems like Uncharted 3 & Skyrim are taking home a majority of the awards! Had a feeling it would be between these two, with Skyrim leading the way!
