Agree here. The original PlayStation did usher in the mainstream way of things. Prior to that, consoles were seen as a child's toy and not much more.
Still, there's plenty to go around for everybody and I don't think it's ever been this varied. So long as things remain that way, gamers of all walks of life will be fine.
I don't think the games are the issue, you just won't look beyond the things you complain about.
OT: I don't personally care for motion gaming and stuff not aimed at my tastes, but I will only make an issue out of it when it completely affects what games I AM interested in. There are still plenty of those out there and on the way, so I'm currently satisfied, albeit burnt out of the current generation (to an extent).
Right, but you could also argue that the PlayStation brand is in the state that it's in BECAUSE of Ken. You could also argue that the turnaround in 2009 began with the revised PS3 model (which Kaz headed).
All things considered, I too like Ken, but let's not minimize the potential Kaz has to continue to help turn the company around.
CGI quality graphics eh? I like (obviously) :D
While you're holding your breath for a 360 release, those of us with the system it's definitely coming to will just have to be a tad more patient. :)
You people with a 360 can play Versus XIII, if you buy a PS3. Every game can't and shouldn't be on every system!
OT: Most games are day 1 purchases here (although The Last Of Us is likely to be an early 2013 title (just my hunch, though).
What exactly did the story "lack" though? That's something I've yet to understand.
As for the controls, they added the option to play it with Uncharted 2-type controls (although besides hit detection, I found nothing really wrong with the controls).
I only really disagree with Killzone 3 & RAGE. While the latter wasn't quite as good as I expected, it's a good game in it's own right. RAGE created a foundation for id to improve upon and I expect just that.
As for Killzone 3's sales, if you've been paying attention, the numbers are not that far behind KZ2 (and it was actually selling better than it in the same time frame at one point).
^ ^ There's my point Baka: Stuff like this invites people who are known to trash a specific brand any chance they get, overshadowing the more fair and realistic (even if they don't favor the product) comments. And people call it a "TV" when it isn't marketed as such.
It doesn't have to set the world ablaze, and in fact, nobody implied that it did. However, it is receiving much undeserved hate as well. Plus, for every negative point you claim people have made, there are a bazillion other positives that accompany it.
My issue is most people here are judging a device they've yet to use themselves, or use for an extensive amount of time, yourself (admittedly) included. I can understand not wanting to drop $400-500 on a Display/TV or ...
Man-o-man, so much negativity towards this Display. Many of you don't understand the purpose of it and no, you can't get many 3D TVs for less than $500. Couple that with a Display that does things no TV on the market does, packs in a game, and is tailored made for gaming, and the thing reeks of value.
Oh well, judging from most of these comments, I'm talking to the wrong crowd.
Wouldn't give him too much credit, he does this in Sony articles.
OT: It does me little good to complain about an article that's just aiming to inform (even if this is slightly old news).
Since Forza came after GT, Sony hasn't answered to (nor needed to) that at all. Besides, what he was saying was simple: Sony is offering their fanbase a higher variety when it comes to exclusive content.
I guess you ignored the data deliberately :/
OT: The myth that the 360 has a higher sale amount on most exclusives has been real for quite some time. Means nothing to anybody that care just about gaming, however, which is much more important.
Not open world. As of now, there's really nothing suggesting that it won't work, given the developer.
Looking at your track record regarding Uncharted 3, I'm inclined not to take you serious.
OT: I can see references from several places, but it makes the character seem all the more realistic!
Who's problem is more of an issue though? The RRoD is an on going (albeit, much reduced) issue, whereas the PSN fiasco lasted a little over a month and is now one for the history books. Not trying to minimize either situation, but let's be realistic here.
I'd ask who might that be, but your bubbles don't allow any further elaboration.
OT: I can admit that the majority of my heart is with Sony, but mainly because when it comes to games, they have yet to really let me down. I mean sure, the PS3's opening had me worried, more so for them than ever before, but since 2009, they've shown me that I was right to invest in PlayStation.
Next gen, I'll backing the PS4 & next Xbox (the Wii U real...
Like I said, it's a battle between this & Skyrim (although Skyrim still has more). I had a feeling it would be between these two even before the VGAs!
Maybe, but they seriously trail Sony in 2nd Party devs (and that makes a huge difference).
OT: Well, no point in wishing. If you want to enjoy those dev's games, buy the system that those devs work on. All hoping/wishing/dreaming is useless.
