You clearly don't understand the concept behind Kara, but since you've admitted to favoring anything Microsoft over anything Sony, it's to be expected. It's even more ironic that the one company that does "think-outside-the-box&qu ot; more often than not, you not only bash, but don't support. Hypocrisy you say? Indeed.
OT: I liked the concept of Milo and wish it had of worked, but the issue was mainly that our technology just wasn't there yet.
And to those saying take it back to Japan - Amen! 100% with you!
"Bring back Team Silent"
For once, we agree. I feel that's the only way to revitalize this franchise. I haven't played Downpour yet, and while many of its reviews were decent, most of them said the same thing - it's missing what made the earlier SH games so great.
I'd ask you what multi-platform games the PS3 "can't play", but your bubbles don't permit - thus, marked as a non-issue.
OT: Of course console exclusives matter. Always have and I don't see that changing anytime soon. If exclusives didn't matter, how did the Wii rule the generation?
So it's been average since Downpour? Yamoaka only left the series after Shattered Memories - he's done the music for all of them except Downpour. Should at least keep up on the facts if you're going to judge the series, no?
OT: I agree with Ahasverus - Silent Hill, as a series (sum of its parts) I wouldn't give much higher than an 8-8.5 (and this is coming from someone who's favorite franchise of all time is Silent Hill), but it's always been unique en...
Yes but he's saying that Sony is giving gamers fresh new material in addition to keeping fans of previous IPs happy. You're right, nothing wrong with that, but he's arguing for variety, which Sony leads the pack in right now.
OT: VERY well written article!
And how did you draw that conclusion? Both the original "Taxidermist" scene and The Casting from Heavy Rain were tech demos and the full title exceeded them both. A bit premature for doom and gloom.
OT: I'm am happy that Sony continues to back such a talented studio. Being 1st party would fit in the Sony family quite well!
How many first party companies within SCE aren't "surviving/thriving" ?
Unless the number is alarming high, it's useless to worry about. Quantic as a first or third party will surely be fine and as long as Sony funds/publishes their games (which let's not forget, their last sold MUCH more than they thought it would), they will be fine.
THAT! :D
More serious note, between this and The Last Of Us, Sony really has some of the most intriguing/adult experiences.
Heavy Rain's faces, while good, had a sort of stiffness not present here. No, this isn't L.A. NOIRE smooth (although, that had body limitations that don't plague Kara), but this is Heavy Rain's engine with improvements. They are clearly apparent.
Edit: Seems I'm wrong about the engine, this one is brand new! Can't wait to see more!
Speechless.
Quantic is sticking with Sony. No Wii U, I'm afraid.
OT: More exciting than anything else @ GDC for me!
You aren't.
Your condescending attitude shows just how bad your argument is. What I've posted on VGC is irrelevant to what I was saying, especially when you won't find one, not even one, post where I proclaim sales > games.
Not really a point to continue with you.
I agree with a good deal of your sentiments here, but you should also look at it from an Xbox fan's perspective - not just a PS3 fan. Why/how would/could a PS3-only fan care if the 360 has "lost its way"? If you're only on one system, you have no clue about the other one(s).
This comes from a disgruntled Xbox fan spouting his personal opinions of the way things have turned out. I see nothing wrong with that, especially when his points, for the most part, la...
It sure felt like that the first couple of years. Then again, that made sense - they expected, like most of us, the PlayStation to dominate for a third time.
Now that it's been established that the PS3 will never be the market leader, they've gone after the big dog. May not be the most ideal event for gamers, which is arguable, but it's certainly helped their pockets.
Apparently, Microsoft outshipped Sony last year, but sold less to consumer. A toss up either way.
In the grand scheme, it comes off as you'd rather play profits/revenue than games. One thing's for sure, no matter what you say about Microsoft, Sony hasn't lacked in the gaming area for a few good years now. As a gamer who bought a gaming machine to play video games, I'm pretty satisfied.
My only real gripe with Microsoft is the lack of software ...
Wonder how this fairs against the PlayStation 3D Display.
I know David Cage's next PlayStation game is all I need! Everything else is just icing!
Except that this is something people have actually been asking for. Never can have too much of a good thing.
