Sorry but 30-50 gbs to download a movie is quite a hefty ammount.
Especially with the currently bandwidth limitations i.e. download limit and speed.
Mass piracy will occur when media is cheaper and pirated movies are easy to come by .

I will be picking up dirt, it is too expensive at 60 dollars for this game.
Rakes in alot of money from their dvd division.
And a good portion of unversals and paramounts librayr is not worthy of a purchase for home movies.
New release on hd-dvd discs are usually 6-10 dollars more than the dvd counterpart.
Blu-ray on the other hand is uusally 3-8 dollars more than the dvd counterpart.
I still believe it will be hard to push these ppl to buy expensive media.
Although it was decent, it only did well in one territory.
The minor difference is hd-dvd is still beaten by the competition in their strongest territory.
They keep failing to mention sound.
There is a MUCH greater percentage of blu-ray discs with better sound.
Have you ever walked out of a action movie in a theater and it had good sound. I can guarantee that ppl will talk about how good the movie is but they would also mention sound. essentially it is the next step to home theatre experience.
I've shopped for speakers recently, and guess what the store rep actually was demoing a blu-ray disc ......
If you cant afford it you tend to move away saying 2nd best is all you need.

A good portion of the discs have lossless sound. It add's to the experience.
Yes HD-dvd visually is just as good but it is only half the experience. If I only watch drama's and comedies then I guess hd-dvd is a much better buy but I watch alot of action and thrillers and the sound is so much better on the blu side.
I dont know why ppl dont like the ps3 controller.
It is very light on the hands because it is missing rumble.
Though I will pick up a shock controller just to play racing games.
The racing genre begs for force feedback..... all other game genre's I found the rumble feature a bit annoying.
Unreal tournament should have been a launch title, but I guess its a year late.
Oh well, this will be the first fps game I will full respect and look foward to on a console. because it supports mouse and kb
They got their act together when they cut the price of the 60 gb, and ever since they they have been progressibly climbing up without any BIG signs of dropping.
There are only good things coming from their ps3 including their psp.
1) To have Disney help emphasize that ps3 is viable blu-ray player is a HUGE plus for sony.
2) Programmers of games are actually starting to say ps3 is not so hard to program.. But more importantly there is room to work...
Seriously if you dont treat it well you dont deserver an exchange.
Yes its not too difficult to for sony to exchange it but if they let this go then everyone will do it.
On giving out movies.
Cuz in the end of the day movies hit a larger target market, meaning there is alot more movie watchers than gamers.
But the features are coming, and IMO they are not as important as the sound and picture from the movie itself.
If hd-dvd got rid of all the features then most discs should have lossless sound.

But there is one thing I dont like is the color palette they use.
Brownish look, quakish style look.
No game comes close to this style of gameplay..
But there is really nothing wrong with the NFS's series.
Odd thing the only nfs I did not like was the porsche one.

Sorry but the console versions of cod 4 are NOT true 1080i/ p.
I own the ps3 version, and I just saw the pc version running at 1280 x 1024......... conclusion pc is soooooo much more crisper and sharper.
Like many of the console games out there that display at 1080i/p it just seems upconverted somehow
and I got so many disagrees when I said this about the ps3...
I guess alot of ppl are blinded by fanboyism.
