They are basically scanning the marketing to see which areas have potential and which areas dont.
Its called strategic planning and also advertising to your shareholders your view on the market.
Its all business in the end.
Somtimes the market demands more quantity of games and less quality... this is what EA has shown for many years. Im sorry I dont like the games from EA.... maybe c&C but thats about it, but they are the biggest and stronge...
Sorry xbox I thought 2008 was supposed to be your strongest year with halo 3 ...
If they can reduce the size they can reduce costs all around.
Sorry pc gaming is moving ahead..
It is on the next stage of gaming mmorpg.
Is nothing special, it IS a laptop harddrive.
The Hard drive market is very volatile. New models come in while others get phased out.
If you notice hard drives tend to phase out at the 80 dollar range. Meaning the fixed cost in overhead (storage, matrial and logistics) might be floating close to that number .
Bare in mind a 200 gb hard drive may cost the same as a 120 gb hd.
Im pretty sure their contract for their 80gbs are dying ...
Underwelmed...
It feels and plays exactly like dmc3..
I bought the ps2 version long ago based off the hype... never again.
The graphicas are worse than ninja gaiden sigma.
It is made for the psp and only for the psp. It is not doomed until psp dies off into maybe psp 2 (which will be another fomrat)
Its like saying the gba cartridge is doomed when gba first came out.
Yes sony advertised that it can do more than just play games but in the end of the day it has doomed as a movie format.
The graphics on sigma are much better than dmc4.
Plus it feels EXACTLY the same as dmc3.
No thanks.. good thing they had the demo out.
Buy a new hd-dvd player at 100 $ then exchange it to get 150 Euros back.
First studios are leaving hd-dvd..... and alot of retailers are selling hd-dvd's as clearance .....
The next stage is selling the media at clearance.
Slap AMD.ATI with its 9800 gtx... further more I bet they will intro a elite model on top of that 9800gx2
economics my friend..... I live in Canada.... and the dollar value of CDN has increased while the USD has less value now.
BTW the prices you stated are releat too close todays time period.
Im refering to prices in 1997 ish.
You also contradicted yourself. "I have never paid over $20 for a DVD" ;
But still today you still can find a new release for 20-25 dollars. And this is todays PRICES. If you look at some dvd's today they can s...
It now has a bigger advantage since WB joined the blu bandwagon.
Yes they did cost that much during the debut of dvd.
I remember when purchasing bugs life ( my first dvd) it costed 30 dollars... they I stared at the fox and sony movies and they were around 35 dollars.
Companies KNOW they can gauge the market for most new tech. Hell cd's have been costing like 25-30 dollars back in the days.
If you look at the prices of new dvd release they cost about 18-25 dollars now. I dont think it is too difficult to pic...
They should pull a nintendo.
Like the gba device on the gamecube.
They should make a ps2 hub and attach it underneight the ps3.
Since hd-dvd did not take off so well it does not mean hd media in general is not growing fast. IT is called transition and NOTHING happens over night..
Just looking at shelf space at all my local video stores and it is quite evident shelf space of hd media, more specifically just looking at hte blu-ray shelf space you can see that it is growing faster than dvd.
And if pppl bring up the idea of hd-media being too expensive... againt it is still a transition thin...
If you cant afford a gaming PC or PS3.
But honestly if you have enough money the PC + ps3 combo is much more entertainment value.
Sorry but the ps3 is really picking up and there is no turning back
It is affordable, it has blu-ray, its sleek, but more importantly it dont break as much.
The argument that xbots keep bringing up that xbox has more games is simply fading away.
I have the pc / ps3 combo approach and honestly there...
The ps3 has not had any major Fluctuations, but there is constant growth, It is simply a nice progression upwards.
As long as they continue to stimulate demand with either features and games, Sony has another true winner coming up.
