Because It is essentially toshiba and ms that is slowing down HDM penetration.
Ppl can say the that to blu-ray also but the differce is there is MUCH more industry support for blu tha hd-dvd
But they need another company making hd-dvd's also.
Even the high end hd-dvd players look cheaply made.
They need someone like pioneer to aid the effort.
omit the other markets around the world.
Think outside of North america and you can see that ps3 is doing quite fine,,, furthermroe ps3 in america is creeping up....
Take confort now that xbox is doing well in NA but be prepared to pick up the ps3 in the coming years cuz their is more GOOD exclusive content coming out in the coming years.
2007 did not even bring out the heavy hitters of the ps3 and it is doing quite fine worldwide.

Yah cuz we already know WHAT to expect because of the past GT's. They better not change the physics and drive feel of the game. Cuz that is what seels the game. Don't expect it to drastically change into a arcade racer like motor storm

There are many things that xbox live / arcade charge when they should not.
I would gladly pay 30 bucks for gtp on a disc, but I wont pay 40 bucks.
Its still a game in the end, its like paying for episode 1 and two for half life.
Xbox is like a Jaguar, ppl think they are getting value but in the end it still breaks down and in the end you have nothing but rrod
PS3 is you s class mercedes, sleek on the outside and built with ton of features, Not all the features are used by the machinery is much relaiable and it has more class.
Please stop expecting games to run at 1080p.....
Simply put it games on both ps3 and xbox 360 dont have the horse power to pump games at these resolutions.
Bare in mind an xbox is ~x1900 ati card
and a ps3 is ~ 7900 gtx.....
Im a pc gamer and I already knew the potential of these consoles
And one thing for sure even on a pc platform it is pretty dam difficult to run games smoothly at about 1600 x 1050.
Having said that,...
IT was great for its time but Uncharted looks better than gears xbox... but not gears pc.
I dont plan on picking up uncharted cuz it reminds me of tomb raider .
Because of the hype..... the game imo is VERY bland vs god of war and ninja gaiden.
If god of war and ninja gaiden recieved a 10/10, I would rate this game a 7/10

Why I purchased the ps3.... NO racing game has come close.... not even forza on xbox.
something about this game just seems solid.
I wasted too many hours on gt4. One problem was this game is not meant for noobs.
The graphics are much better on the pc.
The textures on the models you do notice that they have been lowered.
And they need to patch the mouse and kb support..... mouse smoothing is simply NOT there. I used a 1600 dpi wired mouse and a 1000 dpi blue tooh mouse same issue. It is much better when you shut off mouse smoothing.... but you still notice the chop.
But to all those console fanboys who cant afford a pc rig they are missing out.
And you dont need a super pc to enjoy the games on pc. YOu can get a decent ati/nvidia card for 300 dollars.
The vid cards at this price range make gears of war cry on the xbox.... it simply looks more stunning and at higher resolution, and it does run smooth if optimized properly.
2nd argument that console fanboys come up. you cant play with a controller.... yes yo...
are at full force.... pure flaming and spamming from this side 2day.
The sales forcasts seem very much inflated but it just shows that xbox fanboys are very "mature" about things
12 bd discs on preorder before the end of the year.... and these are not bogos :(
One word of advice.... think outside of the box... meaning think outside of NOrth America.
Blu-ray being adopted more than hd-dvd by a long shot..... and they are still losing in their home land of NA
We know Warner Brothers is slowly becoming blu because they are actually cooperating with all the other studios because they also had a BOGO sale recently with Sony.
hd- media is the future..... simple as that..... Ppl are going to naturally move towards hd media because we cannot find standard tv's any more.
Im sorry but dvd is now moving into the saturated market. It is main stream at the moment and it will be eventually phased out like vhs..
Plus the technology is only 1.5 years old meaning its early in the game....you cant expect everyone to start adopting it just yet.
I thought it was like ~5 percent of the market.... I know this is only one day but it just shows HDM is here to stay....
An 8 score is not a bad score its very realistic coming from a pc gaming background. I love the ut series but the genre is saturated and I would give it max a solid 8.5
At least we dont have to worry about over inflated scores like ahem halo, perfect dark..... and I have to say this also Gears ( really deservers a solid 8.5)
I have to say this but a good portion of the good games on xbox are overinflated in score, Its like in the car market where american cars al...
IMO is seen as an all in one entertainment unit for the living room that is all.

To many xbots they think gaming is 2ndary because it is playing catchup wit the xbox.... but it is essentially doing the same if not better than the xbox in sales.
As ps3 becomes more succesful as a gaming machine we can start seeing st...
The screens shots that we have mostly seen were instant replays and it made the gameplay graphics look better than it really is ahem just look at gt4....
But that last screen shot in the bumper cam sold me. This is the best look car game out there. Although it dont look as good as the insant replays it is still pretty sexy.
