I have this pre-ordered on PS4 but I've been a little underwhelmed from the start. I just thought that I should give it the benefit of the doubt for the want of something to play. By the comments here, I see that I'm actually not alone in my opinion so far.

Am I "butthurt" that Bungie went multiplat?

If I don't agree with you am I some kind of bitter Xbox fanboy, pining for exclusivity for Bungie titles on my beloved Xbone?

I often notice titles with negative sentiment will then have an unrelated story that involves the competition tacked on in order to be picked up in the opposition's feeds. That way it ends up being seen by both sides and causes heated arguments, drives up the popularity of the article and increases clicks.

In short: If you can put PS4 and Xbox One in your article's title you're guaranteed to get more traffic than without.

I remember that when the original Xbox came out there were reported issues with disc drives in Japan, it was even on the news here in the UK at the time, that kind of thing can permanently damage a new brand in Japan. They'll often give foreign brands and companies a chance but if they put a foot wrong at the beginning that's pretty much it forever.

It's true that Xbox has never had a good line up of Japan centric titles but I think the seed was sewn when they had...

I was thinking the same. I could have been sure that I've seen bigger but I'd have to check.

Must be a slow news day. Also, isn't the space requirement (not the download size) stated as being the same for PS4? It certainly should be if it has the same assets.

Edit: Yes

And to quote “40 GB hard drive storage (or its equivalent) is required. Additional storage may be required for some updates and features. Storage requirements subje...

I cannot even begin to understand why my post was marked as trolling!

Do people just go through in a click frenzy, just for the hell of it?

@HugoDrax

I've done exactly the same. Couldn't resist that white PS4! I'm getting it on XOne as well because most of my friends will be playing it on there.

I'm also interested to see if there are any doom and gloom articles after release and comparing for myself.

Totally agree. I have all three. I think each console is affordable if you don't buy them all on the same day.

I bought my Wii U in 2012, my Xbox One in 2013 and my PS4 in 2014. The secret is saving up a small amount for a few months. Easy. ;)

When you own all the systems you get why fanboyism is just ridiculous. Also, I would never want to be a slave to a brand. I like to play games not manufacturers.

I would agree if digital was cheaper but it isn't, it's more expensive.

It certainly should be cheaper, after all the producers save on production costs and shipping. That's quite a big deal. Sony and MS etc. need to understand this. People need to have a reason to go digital, other than it being the only option.

Couldn't have put it better myself.

If it's relevant to the game then it's worthwhile. No one complains about games like WoW where it's reliant on being online.

Playto or not it's still DLNA. I play all the media on my NAS using an app on my phone to initiate playback on my Xbox. Works perfectly. It's actually more convenient than browsing the server on the Xbox would be and it plays most formats.

On that basis you'd have a tough time turning on your console without wires attached.

Also, the usb ports are at the rear. With almost all USB drives being 2.5" you simply aren't going to see it.

Any negative news is good news for those with an axe to grind.

Without a device to monitor framerate would anyone have ever noticed? Probably not. Still, let's not waste an opportunity to sling $h1t.

Doom.
DOOM!
DOOOOOOOOM!

These "writers" need to get out more.

Seriously though, now that Xbox is hitting 1080p more I guess it seems we're just moving on the to the next thing. For months there was a slew of comments about it being pathetic that Xbox can't hit 1080p and that framerate is less important. Now that 1080p is becoming more the norm I see hundreds of commentors saying that Microsoft are retarded for pushing 1080p, ...

It's interesting that Sony, through necessity of it's financial situation, has a winning formula. They couldn't afford to do anything but streamline their approach and it has paid off for them.

I remember reading once that, in the future (this was 7 or 8 years ago), the trend would be that anything small enough to fit in a pocket moves towards convergence and anything bigger than that moves towards divergence. In other words, unless it's a smartphone then the ...

The article was tongue in cheek and pro PS4. I hope you're an Xbox fan because you basically just said the PS4 is boring.

We could say that about every game ever made.

Those games are on PS4 so it doesn' count. Also, my Dad is better than your Dad.

I've brought up the issue of latency in screens before. People just seem to think that the image goes from their console to the screen instantly.

You need to take the latency of the screen processing the image and, if you have an LCD or LED screen' there may also be considerable pixel lag in to account too and this is different for every model and manufacturer.

If you run your console through an AV receiver then this will increase latency.

@mixolydian_id

Yeah, I can't see this feature being widely used in the long run. It sounds cool but when you think about it how many people would actually use it?

Of course there will be plenty of people wanting to play the games but how many people are going to be willing to repeatedly give up their console and play time to allow it? That will be its achilles heel. Not to mention that it's not too good on people's carbon footprint to use two Play...

Sony had exclusivity over Tomb Raider for years, even though it started out as a multi platform title. When that deal ended they pursued their own first party alternative in Uncharted. I'm sure that at the time Saturn and PC owners were a little disappointed that Tomb Raider 2 didn't come to their platform. No one ever held that against Sony and rightly so.
