A triumph and a shame at the same time.

Don't worry, if a game that any of the people that keep referencing it like gets an average score the same people will denounce it as irrelevant.

Take Drive Club. I can bet that if that game averages a score less than Forza Horizon 2 we'll all be told that metacritic is irrelevant and that no one but idiots and Xbox fanboys take it seriously.

Of course, the next time a game they like gets a better score than one they don't then I'm sure metacr...

I definitely have a wait and see approach to every game these days. I'm looking forward to playing it but the video posted doesn't really seem to do it justice, based on previous footage.

When I bought MotorStorm from Japan it was missing loads of content http://arstechnica.com/gami... and I knew it would, compared to the final western release. I just really wanted a racing game to play, other than Ridge, and I enjoyed it hugely.

They did it back then and they may be doing it again now. We'll have to wait and see. I'm really looking forward to getting hold of this.

I thought the water in BF4 was on par with GTAV. Especially the way that the water reacted to your boat carving through the waves. The water in GTAV was much more in your face and the way light reflected made a vista incredible.

I totally agree, not only are they different racers but the open world aspect of FH2 makes it completely different on the technical side.

Yes, FH2 has way more content than DC. It's all about trade offs. The more you limit a game's breadth the more resources you have at your disposal to make it look better graphically. DC does look better but taking into account the scale of FH2 it's quite the technical feat that it looks as good as it does.

@BitbyDeath

"Graphically it goes inFamous SS > Killzone SF > Ryse"

I own InFamous SS and Ryse, I'm afraid I have to completely disagree with you there. Ryse is a better looking game than InFamous. Of course, InFamous is a better game but that's not what you were talking about.

Yes and to, try to, avoid a massive argument with people that can't comprehend empathy.

To anyone reading this, empathy does not mean to feel sorry for, it means to understand someone else's point of view or feelings, whether you agree with them or not.

@Bloodborn

That can be looked at both ways. DriveClub isn't out yet and so FH2 is the best looking racing game yet. As with any game it can't really be counted until it's in our hands. There's been far too many occasions where games have changed before release to be able to do that - just to cover my back, I'm not saying DC has before anyone gets excitable.

Once DC is out that will, probably, have changed. Although, FH2 will still be the b...

It's pathetic that people disagree. Clearly they believe you should bow down to the almighty PlayStation Gods and burn your Xbox One to win back their favour.

Oh, and I'm getting both too. I like to play games, not have fanatical brand loyalty.

I love the way people always reference PCs as though they have a fixed specification. How many people actually have a high end gaming rig and can afford to keep upgrading their graphics cards?

When Titanfall came out I couldn't quite believe the number of people saying that they would rather get it on PC, because the Xbox One is so expensive and the best combination for gaming is a PS4 and a gaming rig. That is going to be true for a lot of people but is it still true whe...

"If with assistance they can improve the XBO version from 900p to 1080p with those games, why not go the extra step to increase textures, effects, or framerate on the PS4 version as well."

So, you're saying that if a developer can achieve target on Xbox One they should go back to the beginning and rebuild all of their assets and re-optimise for PS4 in order to keep the PS4 version ahead of the Xbox version. You do realise that would be...

Easier is better. There shouldn't be barriers there just to make people use Kinect and MS have addressed that. I think there's a place for both. I use Kinect when playing media and the controller when gaming. They compliment one another.

In other words: there's a long wait between meaningful updates from Sony. Both are true. Which would you prefer as a consumer? To get regular updates giving you new features or occasional updates giving you new features? I would find it very hard to choose the latter.

Dress it however you want.

4129d ago 3 agree4 disagreeView comment

Almost every PS3 update was for stability or security fixes. You can't seriously compare that to meaningful feature additions and improvements, can you?

There's no goalpost moving here. Updates are not just updates. The updates on PS3 were an inconvenience to the user with no clear reason to benefit them and the Xbox One updates give new experiences each time.

One pisses people off the other people actually look forward to.

@mysticsummer

The problem with your comment is, even though you said "As of the time I'm commenting there is no one in this thread implying scandal", the very first comment here suggests it:-

"Hold on, I think we're getting conflicting information here. More copies of Fifa were sold on the PS4 but more X1's were sold overall? It's weird no? Hardware sales edging over the PS4 but more copies sold on the PS4?

You're quite right and put simply - no one should expect true innovation from any tried and tested genre. Any innovation is an addition to a known formula.

The only way you really get innovation is new ways of interacting with a device and completely new ideas for games. I love the traditional genres but I will always need games like Flower, Rez etc. etc.

The mainstream will never be looking for that kind of experience though. Th...

It does look like a bare bones offering at present. The fact that someone commented about being surprised it had a solo component surprises me even more, since when Titanfall came out there was comment after comment trashing it for not having a campaign and saying how it is a minimum requirement. Oh well.

I look forward to playing it but at the moment it looks like we will be paying full price for limited content and then paying for DLC cars later. That doesn't seem righ...
