I'm with you on that. My favourite games from that gen turned out to be on xbox and cube but the ps2 had amazing variety.
Ico
Shadow of the collosus
Rez (if you ignore the dc version)
Vib Ribbon
Katamari Damacy
Gregory Horror Show
ZoE
Okami
They are just a few of my favourite Ps2 games. It was the last gen where publishers were still willing to, regularly, take risks on new genres and original ideas....
@Timesplitter14
You seem to think it's still November 2013. Just as a heads up, it's 2015 now and lots has changed on all three systems.
Screenshots are a needed and useful feature. I'm pleased to see it introduced. As far as sharing controls, if share play does prove to be more than a gimmick, in the long term, I'm sure Microsoft will introduce an equivalent. That's what competition is all about.
I don't actually get share play though. I can't imagine a situation where I would want to let someone, who isn't physically in the room with me, take over my PS4. I know a lot of people really...
@Immorals
I've sent you a message on LIVE. Would it be possible to add me, too? Thanks.
I've been trying to get on the preview for ages.
Interesting. I only downloaded for X1, because the friends I'll be playing with are on LIVE.
I'll put the PS4 version on download when I get home and have a comparison, too.
If it's really obvious, and is still obvious at launch, I'll be torn as to which to buy it for. Most of the people I would play with have an X1 but if it is clearly inferior I'll find it jarring to play.
If I were saying the game sucks, before playing it, I'd feel like a monumental fool if it turned out to be great; at the same time I would feel like a fool if I were saying it will be amazing and it turned out that it's not that good.
We can rarely delete what we say on the internet and I'm not willing to have people calling me out on it, either way, after the game is released, the next time I'm in a debate on here.
As I have said all the way ...
Agreed. This site does seem to like whipping its visitors up into a frenzy, at times.
Probably an embargo. That doesn't mean it's a bad game, they just want the excitement to be running at it's highest just as it's released.
I think we should be able to assume that. The BF3 and BF4 betas, on console, had really low res textures when compared to the final product.
I think a historic game like Red Dead would be amazing! Mid to late 19th century Japan with Ninja and Samurai. Also, the locations would be breath taking using the GTAV engine.
True, R* are still busy with the PC version of GTAV. I'm quite sure it will be years before we see a new full GTA.
I'd love to have a Red Dead follow up with the GTAV engine and I should imagine R* want a change for a while.
I'd love to see London again. Doubt it would ever happen.
@FOXHOUND
Tokyo would be cool but Yakuza already has that covered.
MGS1 with the MGS2 engine. I thought it was fantastic and it stood as a game in its own right.
I can't quite believe this. His work was incredible.
I loved MGS on PSX and I loved Twin Snakes on GC. This thread is the first I've ever heard of people disliking it.
Surely the electro magnetic field. I wouldn't call it a 'glitch', the neon light is just interfering with it.
Well said.
It may actually just be one of those games you either love or hate. As with any game people can't have an opinion either way, until it's in players' hands.
To say the game sucks through conjecture is irresponsible but the same can be said if you say that the game is amazing. No one knows.
I believe that it isn't unreasonable to raise concerns about a game, based on experience with un-finished code but it cannot be c...
I was thinking about Street Fighter 5. Do you think that the exclusivity will be on every Street Fighter 5 version or the one game named "Street Fighter 5".
Let's say that Capcom do good numbers and they make "SUPER Street Fighter 5", would the exclusivity deal cover all iterations? Just a thought.
That is exactly what they said. Just like Microsoft said with Tomb Raider; everyone fell over themselves to highlight that.
I still remember the first time I played steel battalion. Working out the process to even start your mech was amazing and it made it such an immersive experience. There was even a switch for the windscreen wipers!
I would love to have a game with a peripheral like that again. It would be cool to have a controller like that for a game like Battlefield, to use when you're in the vehicles.
