It's not an "Easy Mode" purchase. VIP gives you access to exclusive cars and credit bonuses. The money boost makes grinding simpler, but it doesn't put the game on cruise control so to speak.

Good to see the team own up to their actions. Not only are they reverting to the old system, but they even threw in a few extra perks!

Good on you, Team 10. Really loving the game so far.

I reviewed the game on PC. Honestly, I didn't dock points because it's not an issue that I personally found to be very huge.

I ignored it and just focused on the core game, which I thought was pretty fun. I'm guessing that goes for a lot of other reviewers as well; the actual gameplay is really well done, so these other issues are minor gripes to an extent.

I wasn't directly comparing the two systems. If you actually read the article, you'd see that I highlighted some similarities between the two. I never directly said: "The PS2 did this, so the Switch can too!" I even highlighted some differences in the circumstances between the two systems.

Try analyzing completely before casting judgement next time, instead of just looking at the title and description and then trying to base a comment solely on that.

1.) Dreamcast lasted two years. Hard to compare it to the other systems.

2.) The PS2 only came out a few months before the GameCube and Xbox, so it's hard to say that it was created to be the "most powerful console at the time it was released".

3.) The GC was held back to a degree due its mini discs, but take a look at some mutliplatform games running across both systems. The GC version was typically better looking.

4.) T...

I got a review code for the Ultimate Edition. The game runs really good when it's behaving, but there are performance issues when navigating through menus. The game has repeatedly froze on me when I'm trying to customize a car.

So, there are issues. Not HUGE, but definitely noticeable.

I got a review code for the Ultimate Edition on PC and I can stand by this author's complaints about framerate issues on PC. The game really misbehaves in the menus, but the gameplay is mostly smooth aside from a few hitches here and there.

I wanted to post my review this weekend, but I wanted to make sure to test the game to the full extent first. It's a great game, I honestly love it. But there are definitely a few speedbumps when it comes to consistent PC perfor...

The website that posted this is not affiliated with Nintendo. In fact, almost none of the news sites for any of the platforms are affiliated directly with the companies behind them.

I write for Enthusiast Gaming, and we have sites for Nintendo, PlayStation, Xbox and PC. Yet, we are not tied to Nintendo, Sony or Microsoft.

So, again, I don't see why this post is a big deal.

I don't understand the salt here in the comments. The Switch has been on the market for a little over six months. Are you expecting 1000 games to come to the console in a month? Aren't the slowest periods of ANY system's life the initial few months after launch and then the last few months of its lifecycle?

Good grief...

Well, it's game console, isn't it? Isn't the main function of the system to play games? So, one would expect it to be good at that task, no?

All this talk about the "beast" is getting rather comical. Yes, it's a powerful system: woop-de-doo. The Xbox One S still isn't going anywhere. Diehard gamers might like the X, but the average Joe (which makes up the majority of sales) will still be playing on the S.

It's not supposed to be a full-form article, it's simply a news post.

@EDMIX

Nintendo created the Switch. Nintendo considers it to be a home console. It's the successor to the Wii U, not the 3DS. I'm not trying to redefine the meaning of a handheld/portable; the company which made the system would obviously know what it's classified as. Quit trying so hard.

Not a fair comparison at all. The games on Switch are not 'handheld versions', they're home console versions that are on a system that can be taken on-the-go. It's just like a laptop, to a degree.

Compare multiplatform games that came to consoles and also DS, 3DS and PSP. In most cases, they had to be cut down considerably (or remade into custom versions) due to system limitations. While the Switch isn't as powerful as the PS4 and Xbox One, it's not...

Some do it just as a hobby and a few use them to continue honing their skills.

The game runs okay on my GTX 960M paired with an Intel Core i7 6700HQ. The menu stutters and there are some microstutters in-game, but it seems to be better behaved the Horizon 3 (I'm guessing that's because open-world vs. closed circuits).

In any case, more optimizations need to be made. People had problems running Horizon 3 on PC for about 6 months. I really hope that doesn't happen again this time around.

It's ironic, but the Forza series has only been coming to Windows for about two years now. Before, it was exclusively on Xbox. Nevertheless, that's no excuse of course.

@AnubisG: If you don't like it, then just ignore any new article you see lol. As for social media being "poison", yeah I guess I can agree to that to an extent.

Game development is not that easy. If it were that easy then developers wouldn't have to spend days (and sometimes weeks) in the studio trying to meet a deadline.

Optimizations and tweaks need to be made for every game that comes to any platform, Switch included. While development for the Switch has been confirmed to be rather simple, it's not like they can just drop the game on the system, turn a few knobs and call it a day.

Everyone has differing opinions on the matter, which is why you'll usually see multiple publications have articles on the same topic. There isn't anything wrong with that; it's rather natural.

When a big event happens in the world (good or bad), doesn't social media light up with thousands if not millions of people chiming in? Just because one person says something doesn't mean more can't be said. That's why it's called a 'discussion'...
