Nintendo could do this style if it wanted to, it just chooses not to. Think of Pixar; pretty much all of their movies have a 'cartoony' look to them, even the more realistic ones. Pixar found a specific style that fits the bill and has stuck with it since Toy Story, making small alterations in each of the movies to match their theme and tone. Nintendo has pretty much done the same with its games.

There are some realistic-looking Nintendo titles out there, but the ma...

I actually answered this right in the article: there will always be people who prefer PCs over consoles and also there will always be people who prefer consoles over PCs. As someone who plays on both, I can easily see the pros and cons of each side.

Consoles aren't as powerful PCs, but they're a lot more convenient. Not everyone has the technological know-how to properly manage a PC, and even if they do, not everyone likes to be bothered with it. With a console, all...

Obvious: The stock issues are beginning to subside. Nintendo stated weeks ago that it would be trying its best to increase production. It takes a while for the changes to become evident, but it appears that things are beginning to balance out, at least for now.

I find it funny that you use this argument. When the last two NPD reports came out showing that PS4 outsold the Switch, I saw a lot of people hollering that the Switch is a failure.

Interesting...

@Gameseeker_Frampt

I just explained to you why the article is not on the other Enthusiast websites. Not really a big deal in the first place, as it's been shared on our social media pages for all of our audiences to see.

Since the PS4 has launched, I've seen Sony fanboys go and-on about how much better their system is over everything else. The Xbox One was railed on, the Wii U even more so. Now the Switch is also being targeted by that same crow...

1080p is still the industry standard.

The reason why this was only posted to PlayStation Enthusiast is due to the fact that Google's algorithms are not very fond of copy-and-paste content. As a result, only one of the sites were picked. I chose PSE due to the fact that the PS4 is the leading console, and as a result, it seems to have the biggest group of fanboys. Even so, this article was shared on all of the Enthusiast social media accounts, including Nintendo Enthusiast.

@Gameseeker_Frampt

Oooooh, well don't you think you're so clever? Look at my post history—I write for ALL of the Enthusiast websites: PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Enthusiast. I own a gaming PC as well as a Wii U, 3DS and soon a Switch. Nintendo is my console platform of choice but I have NOTHING AGAINST the other systems—which is exactly why I'm on the team for ALL of the Enthusiast websites.

I have never once detracted from either the P...

This is N4G, which happens to have a SEA of fanboys for each of the platforms. I decided on the title of this article in order to grab people's attention, especially the aforementioned fanboys.

The competition between the big three is fine. The issue lies the fanboys that parade around trying to demean every other platform that isn't their favorite.

If you like one platform over the others, then that's great. It's only natural to have preferences. But when you start trying to put down anyone else that isn't fond of the same system, that just makes you and unreasonable and rather dim person.

We need to remember that these are all ...

"Switch is selling on hype and artificial shortages alone". So hype is a bad thing now? Isn't that what the PS4 was propelled off of? Isn't that what Microsoft is trying to generate for the Xbox One X? When is a new product NOT being sold on hype?

And here we go again with the "artificial shortage" claims. Like another commenter said: where's your proof? Well, I have proof for the counter-argument—Nintendo has had trouble manufacturing new sy...

Lol! That's N4G for you: 'No better news than BAD news.'

They mentioned why FIFA was picked a few months ago. Basically it's the franchise that brings in the most money (soccer/football is easily one of the most popular sports in the whole world). So, EA actually made a pretty good call here.

@Cobra951: Appreciate the feedback. I'll be more mindful of my titles in future posts.

No problem, my friend. It was still a good article, I just couldn't pick up exactly where you were trying to make your point. In any case, what I was trying to say is that the Switch shouldn't suffer from the issue that you mentioned because it's not standing in the realm of handhelds, it's instead standing in the realm of home consoles. If the Switch were a true handheld, then Nintendo wouldn't currently be pushing the 3DS so hard.

I really love it how high the level of salt/sarcasm is for this news story. Any article railing on either Nintendo, Microsoft, the Switch or Xbox One tends to get a lot of views and snarky comments on this website, but when positive info is posted then the number of comments drop drastically and most folks seem to try and make the posts look unnecessary and/or obvious.

I really hope one day the bulk of the N4G community becomes self aware as to how utterly immature and unre...

Nobody's "fishing for obvious accolades". Nvidia just released their financial report, so this information was unavaliable until now. The Nintendo Enthusiast team, like any other gaming journalism website, posts info on what's going on in the industry. There's always articles speaking positively about the PS4 and (to a slightly lesser extent) the Xbox One. Why is it suddenly an issue to have a news post about the Switch when there's positive info involved? Does seein...

The title isn't wrong, I made sure to write it out that way in order to avoid getting any flack from trolls that love to only read article headlines and not view the full story. That happens a lot on this website and others.

Hello, I'm the author of this news post.

I used the term "apparently" to avoid any unintentional error. While I confirmed it with an industry analyst that Tegra revenue numbers did increase thanks to Switch sales, just wanted to make sure any trolls didn't have firepower since most people on this website (and others) love to only read headlines and never actually view the full stories.

Well, Nintendo itself classifies the Switch as a home console first. It just so happens to sport a portable form factor: it's essentially the laptop of the home console industry. In any case, portable technology has been advancing at a stellar rate primarily since smartphones and tablets came onto the scene. Modern-day mobile devices are very capable (as evidenced by the Switch) and that will only continue to be the case as more people adopt these devices.

I don't r...
