@moegooner88:
I submit my articles here because it's a source of traffic. I don't enjoy N4G, but I do it out of necessity. Besides, it's a choice, who are you to tell me where and where not to submit articles?
@trumpwonstopcrying:
Which is why I find it woefully difficult to take this site seriously. It's sad, and the fact that some of you embrace your deliberate ignorance is just plain facepalm-inducing.
I disagree that it was a "crap concept". The system had to constantly stream a wireless video signal to the Gamepad that was sometimes separate from the video signal that was going to the HDMI port. That means it was basically double-rendering, and half the workload had to be pushed wirelessly. Most likely that's the reason the Gamepad's screen was only 480p, because an HD screen would have made the workload even more strenuous on the hardware.

You obviously didn't read the article. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
A quote straight from the article: "One area where both of these systems differ drastically is the effects they had on their parent companies after their poor market performance. While the Dreamcast nearly demolished SEGA, the Wii U only put a dent in Nintendo’s financial health."
I think it has more to do with the physics system. That probably demands a lot of resources, so they had to cut back on visual quality to ensure the framerate could hit a solid 60.
This article is mostly referring to the Switch OS.
It's clear you didn't actually read the article, but oh well.
Did you actually read the article?
That's kind of how EVERY REVIEW EVER works. You're not supposed to take reviews as the end-all-be-all for anything; they're just opinions.
That's why the developer released a mod converter so all the existing mods from the original can be ported over with ease.
@Uken12:
You clearly misunderstood what I said. Firstly, I said that TO ME retro games start in the early 2000s. I don't have any personal attachment to games from the 80s/90s, but obviously, that doesn't apply to gamers who are older than me.
Secondly, I also stated in the article that the complaint about the Switch not having the VC yet is something I've seen very often. I get why some folks are excited, but the hype just seems a bit much i...
It's called an opinion piece my friend. Just because you don't agree with it doesn't make it invalid. Learn to respect others' thoughts and you'll get that respect right back.
I literally mentioned right in the article that I understand why a lot of older gamers are excited about VC. My main point is, some people keep complaining about it not being there and that seems a bit silly to me. The system has been out for 8 months and its main purpose is to play new games, many of which are available right now and more on the way. So with that being the case, it seems odd to me that the highest priority for some people is to have the VC right here and now on Switch.
Masquerading? I've been on the media team for the last 4 years. I made an error and now I'm a fake journalist? Yeah, okay then lol.
This is correct. Mudrunner is technically a sequel but in actuality, it's pretty much "Spintires: Complete Edition."
There will also be a mod converter released alongside the game to allow for all the existing community mods from the OG title to be compatible with this new version, alongside the new content that will sprout up.
As I mentioned in the article, the appeal of it can really only be enjoyed by older gamers. The ones old enough to have a real nostalgia factor attached. Retro games to me start around the early 2000s because I'm only 19 years old.
Don't get me wrong, I recognize there is a very vocal group of gamers who love retro titles. But the incessant whining for the VC to come to Switch just doesn't make all that much sense to me when there's a plethora of modern tit...
My apologies for the age of the console/controller. I ended up looking at the European release date instead of the JP/North American launch. That has been corrected.
As for the topic of Microsoft taking inspiration from Nintendo's design, I did say in the article that it's a discussion that's been "debated" many times. I've seen a lot of arguments over the years. I will make adjustments in the article, though.
Thanks for your fe...
Nintendo definitely nailed the design both inside and out, in my opinion.
They built the entire system into a slightly chunky tablet body. I still find it amazing that the Switch is more powerful than the Wii U, yet smaller and sleeker than the Gamepad. Mobile technology has been advancing at a stellar rate and Nvidia was definitely an excellent choice to go with for the chipset. As the technology gets better, the hybrid design will only be improved.

Did you read the article? I never said more means better - I asked.
I'm not breaking any of the rules, so you mean to tell me you want to be banned for voicing my opinion? That would be quite tyrannical on N4Gs part, not to mention plain censorship.
If you got offended by my comment, that's on you bud. If you felt personally attacked, doesn't make much sense to me since I criticized the general attitude of the community members of this site, not anyone in particular. I've been visiting this place for years and it's only ...
