They have:

- They made it blatantly clear with the first commercials.

- They sent out an email to all original Wii owners, advertising the NEW system and why they should UPGRADE.

- They brought their E3 titles to Best Buy and Gamestop.

- They're sponsoring the T.V broadcast of Tour de France with the Wii U.

- They've had tour after tour showing off the system.

- The console looks quit...

Here's how I see it:

- Sony didn't upset thousands of gamers by introducing a DRM-stricken console. Even though they'be backtracked, the damadge is done.

- Sony didn't choose to force a once optional, and hated periphial down the throats of their userbase by now "improving it" and making it MANDATORY, while also upping the pricetag.

- Sony isn't desperately trying to scramble to try and get out of an amazingly da...

I agree with you there.

It's some sweet technology - don't get me wrong - but like anything, if it's used the wrong way - bad consequences can arise.

I know many people believe that it's stupid to think that video games can have an effect on anyone's behavior - but it's like drugs or alcohol - if you expose your body to it on a regular basis, it's going to form a habit - and eventually it's going to seem like a necessity.

"The whole “Wii situation all over again” notion has virtually been debunked at this point, as nobody in their right mind ever compared the Wii’s graphics to the HD twins’ to prove it was a stronger system than the original Xbox. Not to mention that the Wii was not even an HD system to begin with, meaning the gap between it and PS3 and 360 was guaranteed to be pretty wide in the first place. But with the leap between this generation and the next, we’re not doing any format jump. We’re go...

Will try to enter the Blog Competition again. I still can't believe I won the last one (considering I didn't realize I in effect entered the competition).

Question though; what happened to the prizes for June's winners?

Very well written article.

They're right - I highly doubt you'd see a site like Gameinformer, Polygon, Gamespot, or IGN - for example - write an article like this.

Short, sweet, to the point and TRUTHFUL. That's the terms that describe this article in it's entirety.

"You reap what you sow." - That's a quote from the Bible - and it's amazing how it applies to so many different situations, this one included, as...

Not really. On paper - yes; but the Wii U outclasses the PS360 in every which way. If you took time to analyze it's known specs, you'd realize that despite being weakER - it's not weak.

- The Wii U is expensive because it has the Gamepad. Miyamoto already said that if Sony and Microsoft had a similar device included with their consoles; the price would jump by at least $100.

- Same with Kinect ~ it's making the entire thing expensive.

- Nintendo is actually selling the Wii U at a lower price than what it takes to produce it.

Although technically you're correct - you can't lump them in the same boat. The way consoles are built and the way PCs are built are different.

With a console - most of the power is routed to running games, with a little of it reserved for other functions (Internet, Video, Music, etc.) With PCs - you're running multiple processes at the sametime - such as the OS and other applications in the background.

That's why gaming rigs are so beefy - be...

The Last of Us looks quite fantastic and a few of the games I mentioned are in par with it

- Trine 2
- X
- Bayonetta 2

..Come to mind. And this is only the beginning of the Wii U's life cycle. Imagine next year and on-ward?

It took about 7 years for devs to get games like the The Last of Us running on PS3 so beautifully. TLoU runs at 720p, correct?

Well so far the Wii U has multiple games running at 1080p ...

That should show you who's the real leader. The copy-catting basically started when Microsoft released the first XBOX (can't say XBOX 1 anymore..lol) - Just compare it's controller to the GC Wavebird controller...

- Even before the Wii ~ Nintendo had the biggest profits. When the Wii came out, adding to the DS' triumph - Nintendo REALLY started rolling in the dough.

- They wanted to focus on gameplay over graphics, which is why they didn't try to make the Wii super-powerful. Even though it didn't have as much horsepower as it's competitors - it still has some beautiful titles like:

Xeneoblade Chronicles
Sonic Colors
Mario Galaxy 1&2...

Of course it's weaker than the PS4 & XBOX One - But it's nowhere near as weak as the Wii was compared to the PS360.

Besides - the Wii U overpowers the PS360 and has graphically intensive games like:

- Need for Speed Most Wanted U
- Pikmin 3
- Nintendo Land (sort-of)
- X (ESPECIALLY)
- Bayonetta 2
- Trine 2: Directors Cut

...all running on the system quite fine.

Great! The original limit of 100 was kind of annoying. Just making a generic post was difficult. The extra 100 is much, much better.

After the "unprecedented partnership" turned into a big fake-out ~ I stopped caring about EA's support on the Wii U.

They're blatantly showing that until it starts selling, they WON'T be trying to support it. Oh well... They sure do seem to love the XBOX One, though. I guess that's where that "unprecedented partnership" really turned up...

I'm surprised the Wii U wasn't added to the mix either - the Ouya doesn't even stand a chance against that.

Android does have -some- great games, actually. Real Racing 3, Sonic 4 Episode: II, Riptide GP, Asphalt 7 ~ all come to mind. But compared to the diverse amount of AAA games available on other platforms ~ this is a system for:

- Someone on a REALLY tight budget
- A collector
- A wasteful person
- A little, little kid....

When I saw the title I was like: "Impossible! o_o...Maybe they might have a chance after all!"

Then I read the article.... No sources - My new reaction: -_-... Damage control."

They can't release a non-Kinect version of the system. They made it quite clear at the reveal that it is REQUIRED to operate the system. Like how a Dualshock 4 controller is required to operate the PS4 and a Wii U Gamepad is required to operate the Wii U.

When you have games like 'X' on Wii U - I'm sure SQEnix could try an Open-GL based port. I guess the REALLY, REAL reason is that they don't want to go through all that trouble for a console that isn't shifting a lot of units, which is understandable. But I highly doubt it's only for technical purposes why they opt-ed out of a Wii U version.

I always find it so ironic when an update that is meant to fix problems and enhance the user experience, ends up doing more damage. And seeing that none of these reports indicate that users powered off their systems in the middle of the update, shows that this is indeed Sony's blunder.

Well - This is the life as imperfect humans. Mistakes will be made. Hope they can patch this up soon.

But interesting enough though - Nintendo releases an update for the 3D...

The PS3 is almost as old as I am.... o_o Dang.

Surprised to see that it's still even being supported. But like others have said - it's still popular in poverty-struck countries, so I shouldn't be that surprised.

Never owned the thing - but played a lot of it with friends who did.
