I remember when I first saw a Wii in a TV ad. I thought it was pretty big. But then I went to a friend's house and I finally got to see it up close and personal...I was astonished the thing was so tiny.
Well good to see it isn't as giant as a VCR/DVR hybrid. Still hate the design, though.

This has always been the case:
Software sells hardware.
Doesn't matter how much power is under the hood - if the entertaining titles aren't there, it could be made out of gold and it wouldn't move off the shelf.

I don't know why people have this unwarranted hate against Nintendo. It's okay to have your company and console of choice, but if you're going to spend the day ranting-&-raving by putting the rival company and console down, while showing an unhealthy (and rather pathetic) devotion to your favorite, who only care for your money, then you have a problem.

But the Wii U sells bad in O N E country, a country with a video-game market that the article highlights as being smaller than most, and suddenly it's a complete failure?

I can get a little confusion at first - but now it seems like the confusion between and Wii & Wii U is just complete ignorance, on the casual market's part.
How many things do they need to tell them that this is a new console?
- The packaging is completely different (why would a controller that isn't named Wii Balance Board or Guitar Hero, need a box so huge?)
- The game cases have a different design and color.
