If it is five bucks a month - then that's $60 every year. And let's say you buy it this year and the console's lives for 8 years before it's replaced - that's $480... Wow.

So 2/3 next-gen systems support used-games.

Microsoft...You better quit with the no used-game policy while you're behind, before you end up falling.

Yet even so ~ At least the Wii U's online services are still free. So now the Wii U has:

- NO DRM
- Allows used-games
- Has free online

~ Not bad at all.

XB-One: Big, huge, rectangular brick. Looks like a hybrid cable-box/VCR player.

PS4: Shaped similarly to the PS2 - just a tad smaller (apparently) ~ and angled.

Wii U: Completely sleek and flat at the sides, front and back. Small and rounded.

Who wins the design contest? (In my opinion):

1.) Wii U
2.) PS4
3.) XB-One

- I pick Wii U because it's small enough to fit in a car's glove compa...

Well it's great that it's really happening - But Ubi has been such a strong supporter of Wii U...Kind of surprising they're not bringing it over on the U.

EA will focus on Wii U when it becomes profitable.

The original Wii wasn't even in the same technological boat as the PS360 - yet it got ports. Sure, most of them were lackluster, but it still got them right?

If EA could do that for Wii, then it could do the same with Wii U ~ especially considering that the tech-gap is much, much closer. But the fact that the Wii U allows used-games might be the real pushover here. We'll see...

I'm definitely picking this up next year. Nintendo never had its own realistic-racing series like Sony's "Gran Turismo" and Microsoft's "Forza" - so this is much welcomed to the Wii U.

Both these systems are quite powerful. The likelyhood of any of them clocking in at less than $450 (or at least $400) is slim.

The Wii U goes for $350 at its highest - and that's not even what the system is worth. XBOX One and PS4 have tech way to advanced to the Wii U to be priced remotely close to the Wii U Premium Set. Unless Microsoft and Sony are cool with selling at a loss.

Microsoft could probably take it. But Sony's gaming division has been lo...

My first time winning a contributor's contest... I didn't even know I entered ~ XD!

Don't know how to claim my gift card though... o_o

I'm going to continue covering this topic everytime the issue arises in new news. It's not like all these EA articles contain the same info.

It is their decision - But it's a very drastic decision to make when they made the big declaration of an "unprecedented partnership" at E3 2011. They went from full on supporting Nintendo and the Wii U, to giving them the coldest shoulder ever.

That's the problem right there.

You don't turn around and say one thing, and do the opposite. That's called being a hypocrite. Now, I'm going to miss out on a good franchise like NFS, just...

I was hoping it would be more along the $400-$500 line. But this... this is woah. Then again, it is a powerful machine.

The economy isn't like how it was in 2006 when the PS3 came out. People at $500+ to throw around. Now, most are trying to hold on to every cent they can get.

@RAFFwaff

The NEO GEO had the best specs of the 4th Generation. It out-powered both the SNES and SEGA Genesis.

The install base is low because Nintendo hasn't came out with the killer IPs - yet. They already have some ace cards up their sleeves, but that won't be until the end of the year.

Don't count Wii U out just yet. 3DS made a serious comeback with just two Nintendo games. Look how many are coming to Wii U.

And PS1, NES, and SNES. These three systems also won their respective generations, despite being weaker than their competition. There has yet to be a generation in history where having the highest specs enables an insta-win.

Usually the danger of having the *best specs* is also the most expensive price - which is last thing people want to hear in a day and age where even having a Bachelor's and Master's degree doesn't guarantee you a nice-paying job (or any job, f...

I watched virtually the whole thing, and it left me with a "sorta-kinda" feeling. Like, I'm pleased, yet not pleased.

1.) The Box - It looks like a DVR-VCR hybrid. It looks nothing like a "console", more like a cable box. Yeah, all consoles look different, but they still have a certain *look* to them. The XBOX ONE looks like Microsoft made a cable box and slapped the XBOX logo on it.

2.) The Controller - Virtually the same as the 360 c...

Funny how there are even some smartphone games that achieve sub-console quality. So let's just say you're statement WAS the case; that would make the Wii U one beastly powerful "smartphone".

I don't believe that the first comment on this article was that Nintendo is updating their system, despite their being a lack of games. . . System updates don't always revolve around games. They revolve around keeping the operating system in suitable shape; making necessary adjustments, improvements and adding new features as time goes on.

Good crimedy - You people are actually COMPLAINING over a system update? Cable boxes get updates. Tablets get updates. Computers ...

Yeah - 2 years ago, the former CEO went up on Nintendo's E3 Stage and set a huge swirl of visions of EA games running on the Wii U. Now - they're taking Nintendo to the shooting range every other week with more "we're not bringing this to Wii U" annoucements. "Unprecedented partnership", am I right?

In 2011 - they were the closest sweet hearts. Now in 2013, it's like Nintendo made one mistake and EA acted like a deranged woman and burned th...
